    Jimbo Welcome's Bushwhacked Mods

I usually don't show much of my modding work outside of the Aussie Thread, but I figured it was about time I shared these mods I've created while working on my new film, Bushwhacked. It's set in a near-future, post-economic-meltdown Australia, so the mods you see here reflect that theme.

These mods will become available on request once the film is released.

I actually created these old cars for an earlier film concept that never got off the ground, but they fit perfectly here.

These buildings were also created for the same earlier concept, but with a few texture changes, I brought them in to Bushwhacked.

A laptop computer prop. Not much else to say about that.

A re-modeled, re-textured version of the police station interior. This one just feels a bit more Australian.

Those who remember Savage River will recognise this house. I made a smaller version and added the sign so it could serve as the police station exterior.

A few posters on the police-station wall give some hints as to the nature of Bushwhacked's near-future world.

Two new police cars. The truck is a variant of the Landcruiser ute prop I made for Savage River.

Every Aussie town needs at least several pubs. Here's one of them.

I don't want to give too much of the film away, but this image is just too cool to leave out. The scene was created using a technique I invented (or at least, if someone else had done it, I didn't know) for Savage River, which I've perfected and relied upon heavily in Bushwhacked.

So, that's it for now. I'll be back during the next week or so with more mods as they're finished. Actual filming is about 2/3 complete.

Nice stuff, man. Really feels authentic -- I swear I saw one of those burned out cars in the bush next to the park at the back of my cousins when I was a kid :)

Even a page a day will get you there.

These look really really cool Jim.  The last shot definitely got my attention and the cars look great.  Do you have a tentative release time frame?

    Re: Jimbo Welcome's Bushwhacked Mods

Be sure I'll be watching this movie and requesting the mods.

I like very much the car wrecks.

And you shouldn't be so nationalistic and present your creations here!

One thing I'm not sure to have got right : Is this Savage River part 2?

    Re: Jimbo Welcome's Bushwhacked Mods

Thanks everyone for your praise, it's appreciated. I'll be uploading some more pictures soon and hopefully the film, or at least a trailer, won't be too far behind.

Naz, this is a new film, which isn't connected with Savage River part 2 - I kept running up against brick walls trying to write SR2, so I've put it on the shelf for now and I'll revisit it when the inspiration strikes me.

3DSMax, actually, I'm not clever enough to use Blender. Yeah, same one I posted a tutorial for on DCMF. I'm a lot quicker with it now and I've learnt a few new tricks to speed it up, so I'll probably post another tutorial here - since they're allowed now - some time in the near future.

    Re: Jimbo Welcome's Bushwhacked Mods

It's G o o d [Good] to see so many people getting into these mods. I'll definitely post the custom-character-animation tutorial here once I've updated it with some of the new tricks I've learnt. In the mean time, here are a few more mods that I've done specifically for Bushwhacked.

It wouldn't be Australia without a few fields of wheat. This is actually the first prop I made specifically for Bushwhacked. It appeared a while ago in the Aussie thread. Since then, I've dulled down the texture a bit (the original came out too bright), but other than that it's the same prop.

A couple of serious-looking government characters get out of their serious-looking van on my country mountain road set. Note also the highway guard rails, which are a separate prop.

This agent is using an F88-S-C, the para version of the current in-service rifle of the Australian military. The "S" denotes that is uses the slide rail mount instead of the standard F88 built-in sight and the "C" accounts for the shortened, carbine barrel, hence its application in parachute ops (military parachuting is done with the weapon strapped to either the pack or the body - either way, long barrels tend to be more likely to suffer damage during a hard landing. But none of that is really important here).

    Re: Jimbo Welcome's Bushwhacked Mods

I wish I had this mountain road when I was doing Incident at Oak Ridge. That's what the movies is lacking the most.

Well, I don't know about the story, but visually at least this movie will be a feast.
