A major 1st party MS title is rumored to be cancelled, i just want to know if that is Fable 2, which i doubt though

It won't be Fable 2, I mean if it was, then we wouldn't have just had that whole thread where Sam had told us about the bows not being in the game, and the fact that Fable 2 is already finished. It probably is Alan Wake, if anything, but you know, 1up's rumors are kinda stupid.

Ridiculous I say! Why should they cancel Fable 2? If they did however, they could as well close Lionhead because they mainly focus on the development of Fable 2 right now. Maybe Microsoft could cancel Fable 2 in favour of the development of Halo 4 which is by than forced to be developed by Lionhead instead of Bungie ... or they bought the rights for Dungeon Keeper or Syndicate from EA and force Lionhead to make Dungeon Keeper 3 or Syndicate 3.

I don't know about any highly anticipated Microsoft Games Studio games about to come out though, but how does it look with Halo Wars? Seems to be a cancel candidate when Microsoft realises that Realtime Strategy Games don't really work on a console.

If there's any truth in the rumour at all, I'd be guessing either Alan Wake, or possibly the Marvel MMORPG - the former because it's apparently such a technically demanding game and it's been so long sice we heard anything about it, the latter because the MMO territory is notoriously treacherous and could potentially be on the verge of big changes anyway(mass-appeal micro-transaction based, more action oriented etc). Both complete guesses with absolutely nothing ot back them up, of course...

Given the state of me this morning and my non-ability to think, I thought that F2 was really going to be cancelled. For a moment I thought that my life is over! I think that I should just crawl back under the duvet.

From having a look around I would say it is Alan Wake that is to be done away with.

I know it is blasphemy, that is why i wanted an official word, so i can shut people up in other forums, it is all around the net, that either Alan Wake or Fable 2 might be cancelled, so i think this should be cleared ASAP

And thanfully Fable 2 as it seems is not touched, same probably for Alan Wake, i was just in their forum, and the forum admins etc think this is 97% false, at least for their game

From what Remedy has told me directly - "Microsoft does not own the copyright nor the IP" to Alan Wake.

In other words, Remedy is acting as a third party developer for Microsoft Game Studios. MGS provides outsourcing and development resources for the game, but has no development power over the title. Even before the MGS announcement, Remedy had enough grounding to "shop around" for publishing deals and eventually settled on Microsoft.

Even if it is the game in question, Remedy could simply pull out of the publishing deal and go for another publisher (previous collaborations - 3D Realms, Rockstar...)

Regarding Fable 2, I'm sure it's nowhere near close to being cancelled.  And keep in mind that these things are just rumours, "97%" or not.

It wouldn't make much sense to cancel Fable 2 at this point. I'm a big fan of Fable so it better not be true.

So, what is your source, because in Alan Wake forum confirmed this is not a 1st party title at all, so those 1UP news are not about that game at all

Semi-confirmed?  Ha ha.  No such state exists.  It's either confirmed or its not.  And, as you can see from my previous post, it's likely not Alan Wake.  So I too would like to know your sources. 

It's not Fable 2, I can tell you that much.

I don't have a direct link, but it's on N4G.com somewhere among all the articles.......but it was my mistake, I thought wrongly, they just confrimed that it's not a first party title....that's all. Sorry for posting inncorrect info.
