Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. The short is now uploaded:
http://www.motionbox.com/videos/7a9edeb71a1de4c2f5
there ya go.
There are vo's by me and my cousin in it. Hope you enjoy it. I'm glad I made it, made my day, lol.![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
Just as a bit of a warning, be sure to turn your speakers up a tad bit to get pretty sound. The sound is pretty fine at standard level, just one of my vo's is a bit quiet over a gun-shot sound effect so by turning your speakers up a bit more you can hear everything I say there perfectly [been testing it ].

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. I have exclusive news about Aspirations. This summer I will be putting together a DVD for myself and fans of the film. I've been revising today and in a break I compiled a list of special features for the DVD to have. The list is as follows: Deleted and extended scenes A making of featurette Trailers (10 trailers of the movie, don't have the first one though so 10, not 11) Music video TMO Career tribute (just as a nice little bonus) Production schedule time-line Commentary with director Execution of certain scenes Aspirations tribute (just as an extra bonus given it's been in production 2 yrs) Casting of particular characters
There ya go. Three of those are already done so makes it easier for me. The making of featurette is mostly done. I just want to add stuff to it like getting footage of the movie in AMM using Fraps. I've never done one like this before with tons of extras so It'll be fun putting it all together. BTW, I won't be charging people for this DVD given the rules and regulations of Lionhead. I respect that all and I'm not a rules breaking person really. So, you can get it for free! This will take a month probably, possibly an extra month for me to do some cool artwork for the DVD. So, looking at August atm. More news to come soon on Aspirations. Laters Derby

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. The tribute for Aspirations is uploaded now.
here's the link:
http://www.motionbox.com/videos/7a9edcb61913edc5f5
there ya go.
It will also appear on the special features of the DVD along with the other numerous [many in other words] features. I did the tribute to a song which is actually in the film itself [how ironic! ]. It's a great song, it really goes perfectly with the tribute and the scene it's in for the movie. I feel that this tribute [for Aspirations] is a really one in that it shows the grittyness and the hard-hitting side to the main theme of the film, bullying. So, yup.... I do think it's different to how I did a part tribute [in my TMO Career tribute] to the film. This is the full tribute I feel, I just wanted to express that this film deals with this theme [bullying] very much so and in a very bold way, so it's celebrating that [making it a tribute] how real the film is. The dialogue and the way I've shot it it's like watching the whole thing again, my experience of going through it all but in a way. I don't mean in a bad way as I first felt, quite a while ago. This really is also a celebration of a little spark for an idea for a movie can really become something as the movie has become I feel. I wouldn't change anything about the movie, I just think it's great, yes there are a few little flaws [as no film is ever flawless] but that doesn't ruin it or anything like that I feel [we see little flaws in movies nowadays]. On a realistic level, I would say 85% of the dialogue is exactly what it was on those days that it all took place. I said 90% before as I wasn't completly sure but it's 85% I'd say as two scenes in the movie aren't based off true dialogue as I didn't actually experience it myself. I knew they happened so I just took that direction with what I wanted to show in those scenes and I'll be honest that I think it worked a real treat! I do think this tribute is a real tribute to the Voiceactors in the movie too, they all really made the movie. Without them, it wouldn't have the right kick to it that it really has. So, 4 and 1/2 half of the 10 special features already sorted. I will be working on the others after I release Aspirations on 20th June. Reason being that 3 of them were already done from quite some time ago [the 10 trailers, the music video and my TMO career tribute]. Half of the making of featurette is done, so I'll finish that off after releasing Aspirations. To be honest, the movie is all done but I'm not keen to upload it atm [would take like 3 hours, 3 hours I don't have atm, don't have time for it] given 2 very important exams [along with 3 more] are around the corner [Monday] which I have revised a lot for but I don't want to fall at the last hurdle. Plus, 3 more exams after that which require more revising [as they're harder, not impossible to do though]. I just feel that 2 years ago I did do 4 very well with my GCSE's [4 B's, 4 C's and 4 D's] but I felt I could of have done better and to be honest I did a bit of revising. After doing them I honestly thought I hadn't done enough and thought I'd failed them all but I was wrong. I think when you know you've done well you just know [hasn't always been the case, got an A for an exam last year when I thought I'd failed again, was so gobsmacked! ] and I had lost a member of my family at the time so I wasn't coping very well with it. So, yup.... I felt I did her proud though. It was also great to do a tribute to her [my grandma] in Acceptance, a tribute movie. When you look at it, technically I've done 3 tributes [Acceptance, TMO career tribute and Aspirations tribute]. So.... yup, back then [2 years ago] I knew I could of have done better, so given that I have been revising a greater deal more than back 2 years ago because I want to do the best I can. Hope you all understand and can wait 3 weeks for the movie to be finally released when I'm at peace with all my exams over.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)
More news to come after June 20th!

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. Through my schedule today of revising I got to squeeze in a little bit of time [30 mins] to do a little something for the DVD. Of which was a short deleted scene which will be in the special features. Also, it was at one stage going to be the ending of the movie but I took it out as it didn't really work. It's quite a silent scene, music is used but no dialogue as it didn't seem necessary in the early days of the production. It was considered an ending early on as nothing is said by anyone but nothing needs to be said as before in the film a lot had been said on the topic so it really shows I feel how people go against obstacles and still turn out fine, which Brad shows evidently here I think. Yes, with Brad not very nice things happenned to him but he puts that all behind him pretty much. He still feels a bit of a chip of his shoulder like "she's been annoying" but it's really a powerful scene, nothing said but it's very clever I think. I'm glad it wasn't the ending in the end as it's not a complete ending in that "Oh, look, it ended! you know but it's still pretty fantastic in how it's been executed. Hope you enjoy it. I won't be putting out anymore deleted scenes as I feel it would spoil it a bit if you know what I mean. What I will tell you is that there are 2 more deleted scenes and there are 7 extended scenes.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. I've been revising and what not and during a break I thought I'd update this thread as I have some new cool news to tell you.
Firstly, I have changed the opening of Aspirations, I decided to use the opening for the alternate version [which won't be done with the movies] so I thought I should use it as it's a very opening and I prefer to get the movie a bit more geared up than watching opening credits on a screen for a minute. Not to say I think that's awful but the opening I have now is more entertaining and gets you more into the movie. Basically, the new opening is of Brad getting ready for school, get dressed, driving to school and all that. I put credits to go along with it and I'm very pleased with what I edited today [in a short break]. The movie will be slightly longer though, that's another change. The opening I did was 1 minute and 44 secs long so it's going to have 4 minutes and 22 secs of credits [opening + ending credits] equalling around 26 minutes and 10 secs overall. So.... yup. I'm not completly sure of the exact overall running time as I haven't edited everything in yet in the outside editor [Windows Movie Maker]. I'll update this thread on that particular piece of info when I do know for sure. We're still on track for June 20th, it'll be happening. I won't start a countdown right now as I think this film has had enough hype after the 13 previews of the damn thing . Kind of reminds of the loads of hype that "The Dark knight" got, was a great movie in the end. I will however do a countdown 2 days before the movie is due out. Plus, not about Aspirations but something old I did 2 years ago. There's a video me and my cousin did [Live action] of me and her doing some of our lines for the CC film [the full version which couldn't be finished]. I gave it to her as a birthday present, I hope she still has it [going to ask her today] as I think it's a funny video but within the last 2 years after all the work I've been doing [on here and outside TMO] I've completly forgot about it and only just remembered it this morning. So, it's not a definate but I'll ask if she's still got it so I can upload it. I think you'll enjoy it. It's basically me and her recording lines, she records me doing the lines, I record her. That's pretty much it. We do crack up and have a laugh in between takes as well too. More news to come soon on Aspirations [after exams tomorrow].![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. I've got some great news. As revising and working on the movie have been in balance, I will be releasing the movie earlier than June 20th, 2 weeks earlier. I'm looking at June 6th as a release date for definate. The movie is pretty much all done in Windows movie maker, just got to add in two more scenes of the movie, little scenes [1/2 edited and exported atm] after editing them up and exporting them with the game. After that, everything's in place and I'm ready to export the whole thing [26 mins ]. So, yup. I really do apologise there's been a really big delay [10 months] but I wanted to make the movie it's best. I understand those of you have got annoyed about it and I completly understand but this is like the biggest movie I've ever made with the movies game so I wanted to polish it to the most I could. I hope you see that in the finished product. I think it's very polished from what it was a few weeks ago [after which I cut down quite a bit more dialogue in certain scenes to make it flow better, etc]. Plus, I think it's worth the wait, the movie is really fantastic, very pleased with it and I'm very pleased with what I cut down from what I had in the original cut 3 weeks ago. So.... I'll update this thread to do the ok for everyone that June 6th is still on. I doubt that I'll run into any export problems because I don't see it happening but you never know. It probably won't happen, me hitting export problems for the whole thing, so.... yup. See you all tomorrow for the final news on the release of this project!

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Hey there everyone. The movie is still on for 6th June but I'll be releasing it earlier as I forgot yesterday that I'm away with my family as of early Friday morning and I'm there for Saturday too [I think]. So.... I'll be releasing it later on tonight [about 7pm GMT or so]. I'll probably be releasing it in parts [the 13 parts I have already exported and done up myself] unless no problems occur when editing it all up together in order [the 13 parts] today.
Edit: Oh stuff it, can't wait till tonight [started uploading, Part 1 is uploaded and Part 2 is uploading right now].
I'll post all the links later [I'm uploading on TMU first btw].![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Update: Parts 1, 3, 4 and 5 have been uploaded. I did originally upload Part 2 but took it off as I forgot that something needs to be taken out of the start [possibly might re-export again]. It's a morning thing, 9 in the morning, I always get it, lol. ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) Part 6 is being uploaded as I speak. Part 2 will be up very soon, I just forgot a little something which wouldn't look right. Also, I just remembered I have to export Part 11 again, so I will skipping Part 11 [when I get up to that point] for the same reason as Part 2 and uploading it within the next 2 hours [along with Part 2].

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Update: Up to Part 11 with the uploading. Parts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are uploaded now. Part 11 is being uploaded as I speak and I have some news. I won't be skipping the other part [part 11] as yet again a morning syndrome, Part 11 is all fine but yesterday I had some problems with it in Windows Movie maker putting all the film together so I thought I had to upload another part with it but no, just Part 11, no extra part [and no Part 13, given no extra part to match Part 11] to match it other than Part 12 of course!
After all this uploading [this moring] I will edit and export Part 2 quickly [not rushing it or anything, just need to take out two scenes, two parts rather, consisting of "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Picture start" and "Lionhead studios presents" as that's in the opening part of the movie]. I will upload that within the next hour and a half. So.... all the film will be up within the next 2 and a half hours [given the uploading time] apart from the end credits. I will put in the ending credits in the description for the time being just so they're there and later on I will upload the end credits so they're there to stay!![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I will be uploading the end credits last minute, tonight some-time as I ran into a bit of a problem there. So... if you're not a credits person you can go and reserve your ticket right now!![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif)

Update: Parts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are uploaded. Off to edit and export Part 2. Will be about 30 mins or so. Then, I will upload that onto TMU and that should take about 20 mins. So.... we're doing , real .![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

BTW, have to be a friend of mine to watch it on TMU as I have set it to Private. For others of you I will be uploading it on Motionbox later so that's everyone's happy, that all fans of mine can watch it. Also, I did upload all the parts in the highest resolution possible, so... yup. They will take a while to load, each part, given I exported them at high res. The end credits will be up within the next 30 minutes or so, which is Part 13 [so.... yup, was a part 13 after all, lol ]. I apologise I couldn't release the whole movie as a whole and had to release it in parts. It's just I had no alternative as I was having problems in Windows movie maker and I had a back-up plan which was this, so..... yup. I'm happy, so.... I hope you're happy too. So.... yup, the film that has been in the works since July of 2007 is finally at your fingertips to watch. Not just that, my final TMO film. I've really enjoyed making it, CC4 comes 2nd to my most enjoyable experience of making a film. So.... yup.... I just think Aspirations is a great film and I hope you enjoy it.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
I am very annoyed that you have decided to release the movie now; we waited, and waiting and what? Waited for what? A half arsed movie; you did not release the movie as a whole; I know your excuse, but WMM is not the only thing you could have used to place everything together. One question; couldn't you put them in two or three parts, if not one? I am not going to see it as it is.
I have admiration for you Derby your a moviemaker, it will be a shame when you leave.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Well.... I think there's been a bit of confusion here as I did say earlier in the thread I would be uploading the whole thing [in 13 parts] without a lock on it on Motionbox. I have been uploading the movie to Motionbox as well which all don't have a lock on them. I put a lock on the parts of the movie on TMU because I find the TMU rating system very flawed and not like the original TMO rating system. So, I shall repeat, anyone who wants to see the movie can just watch it through Motionbox. I put a lock on the movie on TMU also because some people and you know who you are have been rating my recent uploads on there very poor just in terms of what you think of me as a person and I find that very childish. I can take criticism. I'll be honest every-time I release a movie like for the last, ummmm..... 6 times and including this one, so 7 times I really never know how people will feel. However, each time it's been very positive and people like the movie. I'm not saying that's a formula that "Oh, everyone's going to like my movie" as they always do very well. I just don't agree with people hating as it were, if that makes sense.![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I'll admit I never expected my films to go this far at all. When I released CC3 3 years ago, there was a big explosion of a lot of people really enjoying it. After that, it led me to make more movies even though I did plan to make new ones after CC3 anyway it was still nice to know there was an audience watching my work. It's been very nice to keep going for the last 4 movies I would say. Some movies of mine were on a bit of a balance if the audience wanted it and if I wanted to make it, like CC4. I made CC4 for two reasons, as I wanted to make it anyway and it turned out really in the end. The response was also very positive [which I didn't expect, I felt how could this compare to the success of CC3 given it's a sequel, will people get it like they did with CC3 I felt and it was very successful]. The last 4 have been more on the basis of that if there's an audience that's great [like Acceptance which got over 100 reviews in the end, booyah] but if there isn't then I'm fine with that. I make for myself really, just nice to complete, the last 4 I mean. Still, I think it's also nice for people to see them, that's another reason I make them, for a bit of comments but I really don't mind about getting like loads of comments as if people say a movie's , like 5 people or whatever then I'm happy. If someone comes in and says your movie's bad it doesn't hurt me as everyone's entitled to an opinion. Before I was a lot worse, back in 2006, I would attack people about it and be like "How dare you! and really not let it drop. Glad I'm not like that anymore, I was very vicious back then, hot-headed is the better expression I guess. I'll admit I've seen a few bad movies on TMO but I could tell people were putting a lot of effort into them despite they sucked. I don't want to name names as I'm not like that but you get my point. If the majority of people like a film of mine which has been the case for like 8 films then great but if people are scratching and like what then I'm fine with that. If this movie bombs then I'm fine with it because it's a film but I don't know how everyone's going to react. I think it's a film to like, I think people will like it generally but you don't really know until you get the final verdict, as it were. You know. So.... yup, that's it in a nutshell. I came very close to uploading every part on Motionbox but I got called away as it was a family member's birthday so I'm going to upload the last 3 parts right now on there. Also, I will be putting together the whole film for people to watch if they aren't happy [I know one person so far who isn't very happy which is fine as he's entitled to an opinion] with the movie in 13 parts as it stands now. I admit I should of have not done 13 parts and yup.... it was a bit of a mistake, I had reasons for it as you know. I'm not doing it on the basis of well..... if people are un-happy with in 13 parts then I'll do it, I was gonna do it anyway just to please everyone, to either watch it as the whole thing, 26 mins or watch it in 13 parts. Still, i'll be putting up the full film as it should of have been in one part in a few days. Laters Derby

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
I love how you love to Hollywood-ise your TMU/O career, look you're not a film star or movie director. You made a few above average TMO movies, and because people rated them you think you have fans.
"because I find the TMU rating system very flawed and not like the original TMO rating system"
It's not a flawed system, we don't judge movie on rating like at TMO. Rating doesn't matter, it's the review that matters.
TMO- Rating and Review come hand in hand
TMU- Rating and Review optional. Can do one without other.
To spend that much time on a movie and then be happy with about 4 views (About the number that'll hear about it on here mate) is absurd.
Anyway,
![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) luck.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
I'm not a Hollywood guy with my movies. You're entitled to your own opinion but I think you're getting the wrong idea. I'll be honest I did actually did make the movies back in 2006 and early 2007 just for myself really, I was pleased with them myself for getting lots of ratings and comments but I wouldn't of have minded if people didn't review those old movies of mine [from 2006 and 2007] that much. Anyway to have lots of comments is nice but did it completly matter, no. In all honesty, to me getting a lot of votes is really cool for anything I make, TMO related or not but I don't think it matters really given how much you've been wanting to finish it for yourself. I'm an achiever. I like to finish things and finish them well. I personally think this movie is brilliant and nothing even close to what it was supposed to be at the concept of it all. I'm very well pleased with it and I think I finished it to the best of my ability. I was still happy making it, finishing it for myself. Like I say, it's been the most enjoyable film I've ever made and I'm not over-dramatising that, I honestly mean that. In terms of completion, this film seemed to be the film that would never get finished and in the end it did. I like to finish things more than not finish them as I like to make them for myself really but if they get the vote then great but Does it matter? Is it the end of the world to me? NO. I like to finish things more than get the vote as it were from people that "OMG, your movie is ! Get me? Since TMO has died, I've cared less and less more about ratings and what not. Before I kind of cared in a way like about 5% but now it's like 0.5%. My TMO tribute got 11 comments in the end, both parts so 22 comments overall and I still thought that was great given TMO is technically dead, only like 1% of how popular it was back in 2006 and 2007. BTW, I know people can read messages different ways but I'm not being sarcastic there. I honestly mean it, it got more attention than I thought it would given TMO is dead now. Well.... you're entitled to your opinion like I say but to me the word Fan is someone who likes your work and people said to me, a lot of people actually that they liked my work and were a fan of my work. Even you said you were a fan, which I didn't know because you'd only told me up to that point. So, isn't it contradicting you say I don't have fans when you said you were a fan a few months ago?![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
True but I don't really like TMU to be honest. To me, I don't really want to go there but it's nothing like TMO was. I have more to say than that but I'd rather hold my guns about the subject then start a big arguement here [which I don't want anyway]. I don't think it's absurd. I don't PR my movies as much as I did back in the old day. I thought "Well.... they're getting a lot of ratings but if they didn't, so what? This is because I was happy with the early reviews as it were that I got, so.... yup.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
You asked me once to watch a film of yours and give you my honest opinion. When I gave you my opinion you asked me not to post it because you couldnt handle friendly feedback that doesn't praise you film. Its a shame, albeit not surprising, that you apparently haven't changed.
No TMU is not TMO. Its much better. I, like most, couldnt care less about star ratings. TMO is dead and the popularity ratings game died with it. Get over it, learn from the negative comments and be a better machinima maker because of it.
Just my honest opinion.
Thanks for the fun TMO! Sign up for a TMU account and start uploading your films today at tmunderground.com!

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
Well.... that was different. That film was based on my grandma who died 2 years ago and I found it for myself quite up-setting at the time as it's a great tribute to her. You have your opinion like I do have mine but with Acceptance, I got upset that you didn't like it given it was a personal thing at the time. I was still getting over it [I was better than I was back in July of 2007 where I almost went into a crazy state and almost committed suicide. That's the truth, I really almost did, it was actually to do with 2 things, her dying and it was to do with my exams at school. I didn't think I had done very well given I had to do the exams after she had died but it turned out I had done very well. So.... there ya go] all back then, which was 8 months after she had died and for someone to say that not so long after her death it was like putting to the side, like she didn't mean anything and she did to me. A lot of got and understood that in the movie which was great but I made it for her and my family to honour her in a very special way so now and actually for a long time [over a year] I don't care that you didn't like the movie that's your opinion which you're entitled to but at the time it wasn't for me as I was still getting over it all. It hadn't sunk in yet that she was gone forever and that I wouldn't see her again. Does that make any sense? Oh please Mefune, you think you know everything but you don't. I normally would ignore your comment but I'm just proving a point, that it wasn't because of your honesty that I got hurt, it was because the film was about my grandma and you obviously didn't know her as a person, which is fine as I know you wouldn't but I just found it up-setting at the time. If you don't get it, I don't care, you're like that. You blocked me straight after given you felt you'd got me inside out and you don't, you're just some guy who goes on the internet who thinks they know someone very well when in actual reality they're never to meet them so how can they possible know the real you? Well... yeah, I mean you've got be honest about things but I don't think TMU is very , it's allright. I think you just don't hold your guns and assume someone is being not interested in what you have to honestly say and bring out your ego with it which is what you did back then. I just found you annoying, like when you were like "I've tried to watch and rate it honestly 3 times! because really you get a film once, if you like it or not but I think you just took it a bit too far. Yes, you didn't like the movie but does that mean it has to matter? Is it the end of the world? NO. You're entitled to your own opinion. That's all I have to say really. If you post another comment on this, I'm just ignoring you from now on.
