haha ok this is going way farther than it should've lol. I don't think that my schedule is abnormal, but that it is normal, which is why it surprised me when you said that they didn't work weekends. Nothing more. I definitely agree that one should take a weekend off when it is offered. Anyway, Sam has just stated that they do work on weekends (at least some) so it doesn't really matter what either of us think, not that it ever did.

We have a 40hr standard week as is the norm (although it's less in some European countries), with our core hours being 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.  People work extra hours and weekends when it is required (we don't get paid for additional time), e.g. I'm in early and away late every day.  You seem to think we should be working weekends (I was in for part of this weekend), I assure you, you'll change your mind when you enter the working world.  Crunch is where the really long hours kick in, for BW2 during crunch I spent almost every waking hour in the office and did things like work for 34 days straight take a day off and then go work another large amount of days...

People work better with time off, with weekends off - studies show that things like crunch and long hours can be more detrimental to productivity than positive.  You've got to strike a work-life balance (something I'm not at), doing as you suggest and scheduling the weekend, working the weekend would do the project no - you'd burn people out, have increased staff turn over, low morale, etc.  All of which would hurt the project.

No one at Lionhead is afraid of hard work or is slacking off - we're all dedicated to the project and when the need arises we put the extra hours in, but we also work hard during the week so that we don't have to.

Ok, for everybody who wants to comment on my earlier post, dev or moderator or neither, know that, I was NOT saying that anybody should work weekends or that it is slacking. I was merely surprised. From the VERY little experience I have and knowing my parents' past work schedules, I am used to a 6 or 7 day week. I am sorry if I gave off the wrong impression, but I have absolutely no problem with anybody, Lionhead included, taking the weekends off when they aren't needed. Lionhead has more than proved their ability of making games so I have no worries at all. Plus, I agree with you, the bag, that it is healthier and better to have weekends off. I can definitely tell that it is horrible for a person to try to work under crunch for too long. I mean, I have been trying to do school work this past weekend with work work, so I had no time for any relaxation, and I still have to finish a video and a write up with it in the next 2 hours haha.

Ok, now I hope I've cleared that up for anybody who hasn't taken their shot at me yet. I am not criticizing anyone. I was just surprised, is all. Plus, Lionhead announced Fable 2 at E3 '06 and it was in pretty early development, or so I think, and they are still releasing around Fall 2008. That is 2 1/2 years. If the formula I made earlier is accurate, that just show that Lionhead is a very productive studio. If games like fable can be made in that amount of time, that is saying something.

For the last time, I am not criticizing anybody. I only misunderstood a post which led to more misunderstandings.

On a side note, how bout a mod delete's my posts from this thread so that this just stops. Can one of you do that please?

Ahhhhhh! My xbox live has stopped working altogether. I tried to restore default factory settings but that just made it worse. Can anyone say how i might get it working again. Im on a wireless adaptor BTW but that is a bad idea to anyone not on live yet.

My guess is either tomorrow or next tuesday or wednesday.  Tuesday and Wednesday are the days most stuff is put up on live.  However, it might be before than.  It is just my guess.
