Very nice renders indeed. Hobbes seem to be much better than they were in the first one, they seem to have much more depth. I just hope they don't leave the interactions to mere fighting. I'd be great to see these guys doing what they do, when there's no people around.

Portarock:Bay why you you think they have more depth from just looking at a render?
I wasn't looking at just one picture, I'm looking it as a whole. There is a chance that the end result is exactly the same as before, but looking at the stuff we already have seen and heard, it seems to me that the devs have looked into these creatures with more detail. They might be trying to "pull a moogle". Or... it could that the original detail is now just coming out.

Very nice indeed,
They seem to have more personality than before - perhaps thats just the increased facial detail?
And there's something childlike about them wearing buckets and pans and old boots as amour, I'm not sure if I'll be able to bring myself to slaughter the little blighters.
Would'nt it be nice if you could get them to follow you, like the bandits in F1, and have your own little Hobbe army. Perhaps even trade with them - they're sentient and carry gold afterall.

As I like the idea of the armors made out of any thing, I don't like the guy with the bucket on his head ... I've just seen those guys too often ...
It would be a nice gimick if your charakter could make a helmet out of a bucket, like a knight for poor ^.^
Just a little quick sketch to point out what I mean:

Hrm. Well, this clothing thing first of all, the way the devs do the renders, and the mechanical stuff in the diaries. Looking back these 6 years... yeah, these seem to have more depth.

By "the way the devs do renders" do you mean the new art direction? I agree that their clothing and the mechanical contraptions do give them sense of intelligence and character. I just hope that we see some example of it in game. I loved that story of the hobbe posing as a human. Wow its been 6 years? Time sure does go by fast. I'm starting to feel old

"With the way", ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) I'm referring to the cuteness factor and how the models, their gear, etc. are setup towards us. It doesn't happen by accident. It's much more complex than the Hobbes of F1, and this makes me think that it may be possible that there's more there than before. But on the other hand, they did say they had a lot of stuff for the creatures for F1 as well (Don't remember if there was anything about hobbes in the Lionsource's creature compendium), so maybe this is a case of the original not being able to convey this stuff... who knows.

Portarock:So thats a yes. I wouldn't say its much more complex though as the hobbes in Fable were supposed to be somewhat intelligent. They knew how to use magic, they armored themselves, and it would seem even had some medical knowledge as shown by the stitches on their bodies. They unlike the hobbes shown so far even wore shoes.
Hmm... I'm not really talking about intelligence as such. ![Tongue Tied [:S]](/emoticons/emotion-7.gif) They were intelligent in the first one, yeah, but this time, it's more of a thing of culture and depth of the creatures. Basically, what I'm talking about is the size of section of the design doc designated for Hobbes. ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) I really do start to think they're trying to "pull a moogle" with these. ![Paranoid [:aranoid:]](/emoticons/paranoid.gif) Portarock:I just really really really want to see their intelligence expressed in ways other then combat this time. It would be great to find a hobbe posing as a human or maybe some evidence of different clans and the ability to interact with them like in Oblivion with the goblin tribes.
Yeah, absolutely. Also, if this was a JRPG, there'd be at least one Hobbe you can interact with in a friendly manner and that's 100% certain. I'd really like that. ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) Anfro:
Wait a sec. Is it rendered with their game engine or what?
As they're renders, these were probably taken in XSI. They could be ingame models or a little bit more complex, can't really say.

I think it would be interesting if they actually realeased stuffed hobbes, not life sized ones but like 4 or 5 inches tall so you could set them next to the tv or computer. Just a random thought i had

Yes, exactly. ![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif) That's the kind of stuff I was thinking with trying to "pull a moogle".
