    guiltyspark:

okay , in development or not , you dont lie to people like that

now we have to wait until e3 to hear about something we should have heard about today

We heard about co-op , which is great , but its not online and you have to share a screen with 2 people

    We saw a path , a house , and a feild

we didnt see magic of any kind

and we were told about a XBLA game that we have to pay for to get money in the game

So Lionhead's just a big pack of liars now, eh?  Cheeky [:cheeky:]

Regarding co-op in online play, that was not confirmed.  But it wasn't denied either.  So don't rule it out.  Wink [;)]

And frankly co-op on the same screen looks a whole lot better than cutting the screen in half if you ask me.

And yes, we saw a path, a house, and a field.  And we also saw a female character in action, gun combat, Fable 2 enemies in action, a trader, a kid, a glimpse at the family system, some really nice screenshots, and a plethora of other things.

And as far as I understand, there are going to be other ways to get money in Fable 2 other than just one XBL game.  Stick out tongue [:P]

If you want to be unhappy with what's been announced at GDC, go right ahead.  Nobody's forcing you to buy the game you know.  But to imply that Lionhead is a group of lairs who, in their desire to not reveal every single feature of the game at once, has apparently made you disappointed in them is well...a bit overboard to be honest.

I'm simply trying to put things in perspective.  Wink [;)]

Were we not promised the Third Big Feature to be revealed ?

Mr Molyneux.... did you promise something you couldn't deliver again ?
But this time not even in a game, but in real life...

    *very upset* Disappointed [:isappoin]

It was the Three Big Features Revealed.  The s after the feature is very important. Wink [;)]

If you want to look at it that way Peter delivered 100% of what was promised, the third feature was revealed and it is co-op.  It seems that the other 3 features were talked about too, to what extent we don't really know (the article that is currently available is very short).

    Re: Fable 2 @ GDC 2008

    Mortalitis_Infinitas:

I was pointing out the video from the other day dealing with the co-op system. We just saw a great developer walkthrough pointing out some interesting features (namely co-op), saw some brand new Fable 2 screenshots, and also got a Fable 2 newsletter sent out to the subscribers.  And yet, after all of that the other day, people are getting up in arms acting as though Lionhead has completely abandoned them.  Stick out tongue [:P]

Point is, we got a lot of information over the course of GDC, but we certainly can't expect to get a full detailed feature list of the game.  As a developer Lionhead can and cannot announce certain features until the time is right.  This is how it's been in game development for years and years. Wink [;)]

You know I'd be totally behind that if it hadn't been for this:
    Our Sam:
The panel in which Peter spoke yesterday was pretty interesting but not really exciting in any way but today is likely to be different. It'll be about Fable 2 and it might bring you something new, again. Just stay tuned.

Fair enough it says maybe, but it's not like we didn't have reason to be expecting, and this morning I completely wasn't. We all stayed tuned and got bupkis. To be honest I'm suprised we're not falling to our knees screaming 'KAHN!' Luckily I got all my Kahn out of me this morning when someone had eaten the last Pop Tarts.

    Re: Fable 2 @ GDC 2008

I have to agree with Mortalitis_Infinitas and Fablier here..
We've been given a little treasure chest of informations, and we already have little pirates claiming there's not enough gold in the chest? Beh!

Peter Molyneux said he'd reveal the three big features, and he revealed them. Where's the lie?

Not to mention that we've also had little extra pieces of info of what's going to be in the game here and there.. But perhaps you need someone to enumerate them all before you'll dare get hyped? But where's the fun in that...

    I agree.

The reaction on these boards about this is quite astounding. It's all so incredibly childish.

Lionhead did not say they were going to reveal the fourth feature today, that will happen in July. Face it everyone, you built your hopes up for something that wasn't actually promised in the first place.

    Re: Fable 2 @ GDC 2008

We've had far more information on Fable 2 this week than ever before.  Although it seemed logical that most of the info would be revealed in today's seemingly keynote speech, rather than the shorter one earlier in the week, we must remember that we have actually got a lot of info!

Members of this board have a massive tendency for hype- tiny meaningless phrases like "Big 'Tree' Features" get analysed and hyped.

The result is always disappointment.  I think a lot on this board will even be disappointed with the final game simply because it doesn't match up to their wild expectations and interpretations of ambiguous details.

    annoyingly - you are right...

But I am still upset that we didn;t see more info...
I could swear someone (a dev / mod) said that new info will be on Friday...

And why are so many people saying things like "I can;t wait for you to read this stuff" etc.
    and then posting nothign afterwards

My bet is that Lionhead are keeping it all Hushed up so it can be announced in Video Diary 5 - make sense ?... or else people are VERY slow typers... haha

I'm sure everyone isn't upset about what they learned and everything, more so the fact that, they made it seem like there was new information which hasn't been presented to people and its the same stuff as the past few days, nothing worth "staying tuned"

    Re: Fable 2 @ GDC 2008

Frankly I think we should probably wait for a few more articles (or at least some videos) before we start throwing around judgement.  Suffice to say, all we've had is a pretty brief article that was obviously typed up only minutes after the keynote was finished.

Suffice to say, when considering GDC as a whole, we've got a whole lot of info.  Personally, I'm happy about that.

I am undeniably pleased that we have learnt new stuff this week... just a bit annoyed that we didn;t get what we were all looking forward to...

It has been menationed (even in Sams most recent blog) that we could have seen some really cool new features...
Obviously we're going to have to wait...

Exactly.......I'm pumped for this Co-Op feature. My wife and I will highly enjoy playing together. I admit I did not see this coming, I was so sure it had to do with the world of Albion, but I'm very pleased none the less. And hopefully we'll get some more vids.Big Smile [:D]

Sam said we might hear something new.

There's a safety setting that keeps the henchmen from attacking things in your world, Molyneux turned it off and promptly, accidentally attacked his dog, eliciting "Aww"s from the audience. He promptly apologized.

He shows off some combat ... and promptly kills his buddy. He tells the audience we "weren't supposed to see that," which makes us wonder if the half of co-op he can't talk about is that it can sometimes be competitive.

I hadn't heard of that before. Also, I doubt the article you've all read is a verbose account of what was said.

I like the safety setting, esp. if you are going online to play with someone you don't even know. Although I'll never use it because it's apart of the experience imo. Smily [:)]

Hopefully some vids get released soon, cause I'm going to be gone for quite a few hoursStick out tongue [:P]
