Well...keep in mind GameStop is also saying the game comes out on October 1'st.  But game retailers are natorious for guessing.  My opinion is that it's a pretty safe bet that we'll see a Limited/Collector's edition of some kind.  A game like this you kinda expect it sometimes, and its a common practice for sequels anyway.  So I think GameSpot just thought it'd be a sure bet.  The fact that they're taking money for it does seem to make them very sure though.  So who knows...

I was working in X-tra Vision (The Irish equivalent of Blockbuster) last year and they were actually taking money for pre-orders for Fable 2 as early as September 2007.

That's not the issue, we all already know that Fable2 is coming out, LH have announced that they are making it, shops can therefore take money for it. What hasn't been announced is any limited edition, special edition or hero editions of Fable 2 that would come out after release, hence we were wondering why Game Stop looked like they were taking money for something that the rest of the world didn't even know existed

(FYI LH devs - If you do do a limited edition thing I think you should go with the name hero edition It's got the right ring to it! )

I just think its foolish to take money for fable 2 as early as last september. Even though the game has been announced, we've all been disappointed by games being scrapped in the development stage at one time or another. And although its been announced for some time in 2008 theres still a chance we could be waiting longer than that. Sorry for going off topic and causing confusion though.

Nothing would make me happier than a LE Fable 2, I like the ideas of the cloth map or the coin. Maybe instead of a coin they could give away a "guild seal", although id even be happy with a promotional T-shirt or concept art book. Im easy pleased though.

I really hope they have an LE. I could care less what the price is. It would be awsome to an art book, all the diarys on a disk, interviews, PM thoughts on the game in full. A cloth map is an awsome idea, a guild seal would be great and even extra titles or gamerpics/themes. This would all be

i would like a guild seal on a chain that i could wear as a necklace, maybe an art book, not too excited bout the idea of a plastic hobbe figurine, what i would like to see is a couple weapons that arent in the original, like a few different pistols, some different swords, and one extra magic class.

I like those ideas, espically the guildseal necklace. An artbook sounds cool. Also need exclusive gamerpics and themes. That, I would enjoy.

IDK about the exclusive content though, like the swords and magic. As long as they were made avalible later for others, then yeah, no problem with it. Not everyone can afford LE games and just imagine all the whining and b****ing you'll hear, espically if the game ships with PvP. 

Great idea about the guild seal! If it was solid silver, with maybe , hum what kind of stone enlay? Anyways, wish I had one.

How would that defeat the purpose of a special edition? The people that buy the LE get the content early and they also end up an artbook and a second disk full docs and other cool stuff.

true, but, what if i only bought the special edition for the extra game content, it would annoy me to no end if i spent $10-$20 more on the special edition for something i could have bought the regular edition and waited for the patch for free.... but i wouldnt just buy it for that, that was just hypothetical, i would buy the special edition just so i could say, nah nah, i have the special edition, mwahahahaha, and if they do include a guild seal necklace, made out of any material other than plastic or wood, i would be freakin happy, i would prolly be a geek and wear it every day...

Well, then it would be like paying for downloadable content that isn't out yet.  You get it before everyone else. 

I doubt the limited edition would have any extra in-game content though.
