Ok then I will update this topic, expect to see Kit up there, afterall he made full use of movie scribt style writing, a thing that has been used before on this board but not to full ability as Kit has done.

Appleturnover, a long running member of the board, but each time he has posted a story the lacecode has attacked him, something thats never happened to me. With some guidance from those who don't get it perhaps we can teach him to keep a story going without the code, as without the code he is a excellent writer.

I'm gonna say this now but at this moment, I'm currently revising Legends and Untold. Just going in and fixing the spelling errors and I think I screwed up the chapters in Legends.

So I might post the revised versions unless you think it's easier to link what is here now.

Since the F.F.F (Fable-Fan-Fiction) community has took so well to this thread with a little help from Mort. I have added a few basic standards or 'rules' of any posted fiction. I want to say rules but really I'm in no postion to make rules.

But standards, are something what I think we all need, to nudge all writers in a direction.

Here are the standards, if you guys are happy with them I'll leave them in, if not then I'll take them out our edit them.

Guidance:

• I’m not asking you to not write what you want, but! Take into consideration that someone else has most likely done it before, so it bores the reader to see a original idea overused, all I ask is that you make your story original, new ideas.

 

• Writers are or should be organised people, so keep one story contained in one thread, no making new threads for new chapters, post all chapters of your story in one thread, one story equals one thread. If you should have to revise your story have no fear of posting the new version in a new thread, but still keep in contained, don’t make too many threads.

 

• The general ideas, of spelling, grammar, punctuation, try to have a readable and understandable story, if possible get a member to edit any errors you can not spot, a PM will suffice thought try not to Spam members PM‘s. Beware of the code which plagues some of the writers, this code has not yet been sourced to its origin so we don’t know much about it, although it only affects the minority.

 

• Feedback is important, always try to give constructive feedback. Do not Spam members stories, no body will like your story if you happen to post on someone else’s “That they are god-awfully terrible and should never attempt writing ever again” this applies in all words, be nice to fellow writers and readers. If a story is bad don’t be negative towards them, help them.

 

• Avoid repetitive behaviour in your story, using the same words constantly, gets rather frustrating, enlighten your vocabulary. Avoid nameless tales, always give your story a name, the present doesn’t remember nameless faces of the past. Avoid walls of text, use paragraphs.

Please note the guidelines Orakaius posted; the format presented is itself a example of what is asked for.  Clear grammar, clear message, and not deragatory to those it instructs.  No matter how great your advice may be, you won't get far by insulting people, directly or otherwise.  Other than that, try to enjoy your writing.  If you care about your work, it will be that much better. Editing is always a thing; read your post before and after you click [post] to catch as many little things as possible.  Otherwise you might come back the next day and be somewhat "disssapointd" that you didn't catch that little misprint in time to fix it. 

EDIT: Regularity is also nice.  Keeping a writing schedule assures readers that you haven't disappeared or given up writing, and it also helps to organize the writing process.  I almost always write on Friday and Saturday, so I think about my ideas the day before, giving me time to mull them over before I put them into words.  If you get a sudden burst of inspiration, write it down if you aren't at a computer, so you can reword it until you get it the way you want it to be when you post it.

I have been away for three weeks, my modem went tits up. So I just got a new one, and now I'm back online. I shan't tell you my encounter with the correctional facilty that they sent me to.

But I'm way behind on the fictions posted, have no idea what so ever of new stories, new members, etc. Thank you twelthdoc for the input. as soon as I'm savvy with everything I'll begin updating the topic once again.

But for now I'll be very busy. So er did you miss me?

I apologise for the wait, I've been playing maplestory. So in truth I haven't been looking at LH at all. I'm still interested in fiction though honest, just bought Meatloaf's hits, its given me more idea's for my dragon story.

So I may write a short soon.

I have recently asked Kit and Twelthdoc, to help with the sticky, their opinions will be a maybe major part of future updates. My computer is still broken, but I'm looking into this.
