More than anyone else Dredd looks perfect for the oversized UT guns Big Smile [:D] Even as I have been playing with some of these I am still amazed by how well they translate to UT2004.

Conquest has become a bit of a project of mine, at least, I felt compelled to mod it into an excellent UT2004 custom map. To be made available to the public only with his permission of course. It is a playable map in UT, you can network it online with up to 32 realtime players or bots, & film the action for your TM or other movies.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

It's a gorgeous map, I don't take credit for making any of it besides modding in the Conquest, it's a custom map called AS-BP2-Jumpship, by Ryan Pendleton. It's meticulously done, inside & out. Once certain exterior targets are taken out, players go inside to finish the invasion on foot. It's in one of the modders bonus packs promoted by Epic.We should play it sometime Skeltch.

That's interesting, from the previous pictures I got the impression that UT2004 use less defined Graphics than TM, but this looks for once pretty detailed.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

A few tips regarding filming machinima in UT2004 for TMO use:

Use custom maps, characters & weapons for anything that appears on TMO. Default UT characters, even their models reskinned, will result in the movie being yanked off TMO for copyright reasons..
The reason is simple - TMO is an extension of their product, The Movies. To employ a competitors product into their website would be equivalent to using parts of their product to enhance their own... a definite copyright infringement.
I used custom everything for my 2 movies that still remain on TMO, 'RE Agent Smith' & 'MH2'. Those 2 movies have been on TMO for a long time, without trouble.

There are TONS of custom stuff for UT2004, tons of custom weapons, tons of custom maps that look way better than Epic's. All the bonus packs, for example, are made by modders and promoted by Epic. Grab them too, they're gorgeous!
I credit the modders who made the custom weapons & maps that I might use in my credits & on my moviepage, you should too if you make use of their creative talent.

You'll find that the in-game produced AVI files won't have sound in them. No sound is not a bad thing, actually - sound can be copyright too, so if they're Epic's explosion or gun sounds, you shouldnt use them on TMO anyway...
If you use Fraps to record, you'll get sound too, but the frame rate is lousy usually, cuz its a seperate program running on top of the game software. However, I've had success by recording at 10 fps & doing a little math to cut the extra frames out in video post.

Scifi Corridor under construction. See? There's the foreman, making sure everyone works hard.

Still have to add lights, lightmapping, etc...

I'll add some TM2UT mods to the TMO bar site soon, if you like...?

Thanks for your continued support, eobaggs. Smily [:)]

Almost ready to post this TM2UT map, a close network of TM Scifi Corridor 1. This map has dark and lighter areas, and is prevaded by a greenish toxic gas, or residual smoke from a toxic fire. Filmmakers wishing to shoot action scenes for TM movies will find a nice atmospheric feel to it.

    In-game screenshots:

I'll post the model also depicted in these images, which is the default Scifi character rebel with the 80's ponytail haircut.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

Thanks for your comments. Here's the SciFi corridors Ut2k4 map link. I made it with lots of variations in lighting, and added a greenish haze to make it look like there was an explosion or toxic leak. It's a beta version.

Also here's the Commercial City Set, made into an Onslaught map, so it has flying & land vehicles too.(unfortunately, not TM vehicles yet).

You're welcome to look me up at dcmodding.com or on Epic forums, you can find my maps & tutorials on UT3 and UT2004 there.

    Happy filmmaking.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

I've received some feedback on the SciFi Corridors map, it's missing a tex i used from the ECE pack, so unless you have it, it won't load in UT. Drat! I thought I'd fixed that problem.
In the meantime, I made another SciFi Corridor & Bridge map, I made it with exclusively TM sets, so it should be smooth sailing for any configuration.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

I got to test the Sci-Fi Corridors this weekend. Very nice indeed, I was blown away when I found the section of the bridge located off of one of the corridors. I can see some fantastic shots being done showing different camera angles of the bridge that were not possible in game. Not to mention the corridors. Once we get some more TMO Figures in the game a fantastic battle scene could be filmed in the corridors, like never before.

In fact bongoman I was thinking if you were able to take the single level corridor map and also turn that mesh into a TMO msh, you could use it for filming fight scenes inside UT2004 and standard TM scenes within The Movies, using one of Tarsison's blue screen sets. This would truly give you a seamless production from one game to the next. chemas-microsoft-comSurprise [:O]fficeSurprise [:O]ffice" />>>

The stuff you are doing just gets better and better Smily [:)]

    Thanks for the input.
I'll try to post a few TM characters on the TMO Bar & Grill later tonight.

Here's the beginnings of the Destrpyed Minicity map. I placed it multiple times in various angles to make it really massive. This pic is from in the editor, no sun or shadows yet.
