    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

I'm developing some maps for UT3, in particular a map similar to the Legoland (now Blockland) map that Lord Simeon made, where you can shoot apart buildings, etc. Pretty well done making it, just need to setup lighting, which is a lot more trouble to do than UT2004, unless its just my ignorance.

The final version of the Destroyed Minicity UT2k4 map is uploaded for testing at DCMF.

This time I made some effort to make it look like the  'I Am Legend' movie set, with some adaptations.
More time has passed, probably at least 5 or 10 years since this city was destroyed & abandoned. There are ships placed at spawn loactions exclusively on the tops of buildings, but there's also land vehicles to drive placed almost directly below on the ground. Dried out grass struggles to survive in this arid deathzone.

I designed the lighting to be similar to the lighting options in TM Minicity scenes to help maintain continuity. For your TM scenes, just take a few screenshots when running this map to use as bg's.
...more info on the TM2UT Modding thread at DCMF.

I Am Legend...but with machinegun turrets, flying ships tanks...

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

wow that shot with the grass does look a great deal like I Am Legend. Very nice map. As I looked at the picture I thought that shot almost looks like it came from The Movies. Then you mentioned how you tried to make the lighting and background do just that. In my opinion you nailed it. Very nice addition to your project.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

Well, the 'I Am Legend' style map is uploaded, it's posted at DCMF. Since you don't have UT2k4 K4, I'll just film some scenes & convert them to overlays for Conquest moviemakers.

The Minicity... not destroyed, but with an endless flow of refugee ships flying overhead... war is coming.

... and this, cuz it's made from TM models, in Blender... and it's disturbing... >Big Smile [:D]

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

I got collision working on the Destroyed minicity too. Not so mini anymore.
Afew shots of the overgrown minicity, far in the future

And the robot army... not far in the future at all, in fact... the US military is implementing a whopping 2/3 of all armored divisions as automated units by 2015. That's in 6 years from now. Look at your future, America. Speak up while you have a chance.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

Finally getting around to finishing up some models - the robots were done a while ago, but I'd attached the meshes to the human UT model, not the robot, so the sounds & fx were wrong during play. I recently re-rigged the TM Robor TZ2 series to the correct UT robot skeleton so everything is cool now.

More are coming quite soon, I hope to get a bunch out of the way in the next week or 2, including filling a few requests. (The TZ3 bot is a pain in the ***)

This bloody bot has to be done over from scratch again just cuz the head tex isn't right, but PM me if you're in a hurry for it, it looks G o o d [Good] from a few feet away.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

The elbows really suck on some of those models, I'll see if I can ajust them. Finally texed the TZ3 robot properly, but couldn't resist adding a hybrid of my own.

Now I have to make them show up properly in the selection menu.

    Re: - TM to UT2004 -

I just want to set up the TM characters in the main selection menu properly, and add a few finishing touches, and I'll post some of these characters, next week probably. The free licence ran out on my software, so I wasn't able to fill all requests, sorry dude. Next time I format my drive (in not too long actually) I'll make more, unless I finally figure out whats stopping me from going direct from Blender.

Now, I'm back into TM2UT set design for a Sci-fi flick I've been working on. Originally slated to be hi-res only, now that TMO is back perhaps I'll make a TMO version too. Certainly I'll make a TM2UT mod movie...
