    Re: Conquest Beginnings Released

Well worth the long download time (for the HiRes version).  Here's what I wrote:

***** - A terrific piece of film work here. I can see why it took so long! So many cool props and sets and costumes, not to mention the abundance of CGI. Brilliant.

Voice work was probably the best I've heard in a TMO sci-fi. All did a great job of bringing their respective characters to life. (Even me!)

It could have done with a little more attention to sound design (not much more, but a few extra touches would have been nice). The same with the music. What was there was G o o d [Good], but it needed more (IMO).

The story was OK. Nothing spectacular, but it had the onerous task of introducing us to an ENTIRE universe PLUS a host of characters. So in that case, it did very well indeed.

Terrific job here, Guppi. You and your cohorts (cast, crew, collaborators) should be proud.

In a nutshell: Well Done. (And whoever makes the next Conquest film will have a LOT to live up to!)

    Re: Conquest Beginnings Released

    From K4.......

***** - Guppi pulls it all together in tailoring Mustachio's script to present an exciting first installment of Conquest as a TMO feature. One must realize this script was written long before the CQ BIBLE and before any clear definition was outlined for Conquest. Mustachio did an admirable, brave attempt to launch CQ on TMO. The look and the feel of CONQUEST comes across as a true television adventure series. Guppi's professionalism and attention really shapes every aspect of the future of Conquest. Practically everyting we have seen has been "NEW".... Never seen before..... Unique! The VO's played beautifully and balanced. The Armage captain, M'jot Skar, was superbly portrayed! Kudos to all the VA's! You made it real! It was a grand episode to introduce us to the characters and to Conquest. BRAVO! EXCELLENT! SCI-FANTASTIC!

I'm very proud of the work Guppi has done!  He had the enormous weight of presenting the crew and the whole Conquest universe via a script that was written long before THE CONQUEST PROJECT ever gained any momentum on TMO.  Mustachio took what little info he had and set out to craft a real, stand-alone, feature for CQ.  I have to applaude him for that!  And, by the way, this is just Part I.  The 2nd part is currently being written.

This is an amazing beginning for Conquest.  You have to admit that what you have seen in YOUR Conquest is fresh and new as far as sci-fi sceries go on TMO.  It is a series YOU can take pride in because YOU are in the Captain's chair.  YOU made the music, the mods, the characters, the costumes, the voices, the overlays, etc.

YOU are to be highly commended for your support of CONQUEST!

    BRAVO!

DOWNLOAD THE HI-RES VERSION and ENJOY CONQUEST BEGINNINGS!

    CONQUEST has launched on TMO!

    Re: Conquest Beginnings Released

I am proud and happy to present to Guppi the prestigious "Orson". This award is given to creative artists in the comunity who like its name sake, Orson Wells open up new possiblities in the movies and create inovative changes in our films here at TMO. Guppi and his modding team have created special effect worthy of huge praise and in so doing have our deepest admiration and gratitude for not only making wonderful mods but for sharing their talents with us who without them would be using overturned trash cans for out castles, and flying typwriters for our spaceships.

So without further adue, Guppi come and get your award!

    Absolutely fantastic work, Guppi!
I love the look - this is a new universe - the special effects and mods are awesome, the quality of the vo's crystal clear, the music fitting... wow! What a lot of work and dedication you put into this - it is apparent in every scene!

I can't wait for the adventures the Conquest will take us on! Smily [:)]

    Re: Conquest Beginnings Released

And now for something really rare. The Samuel Goldywyn award has never been given out yet to a producer of any film at TMO. The award is for excelence in producing in film and is named after one of the greatest producers in Hollywood history. Goldwyn not only co-founded Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer but went on to creat his own very special studio. He produced such classics as, "Dodsworth", "These Three", Stella Dallas", "Dead End", "Wuthering Heights", "The Little Foxes", "The Pride of the Yankees", "Porgy and Bess", and his greatest film, "The Best Years Of Our Lives".  He was not a prolific producer but yet he put his talents into making each film a classic.

Like Mr. Goldwyn the recipiant of this award is a huge talent and a generous, wonderful man. He is known for his great acting roles and with his new film he can now add to his credits that of producer. His efforts for "Conquest Beginnings" has been tireless with his ongoing and entertaing PR he has shown us all what it take to make a great motion picture.

So with great joy I am proud to prestent the very first "Goldie" to the Daddy of us all and my dear friend the multi talented star and producer, Mr. K4ownzall.

I'm lost for words so all I can say for now is..

    BOOM!!!!

full review coming up on your site marv Wink [;)]

    Edit - 5 Stars *****

Conquest finally begins and boy what a way to kick things off!!

Great introduction to the cast, crew, ship and universe. There are many many adventures that are left to be explored with this huge potential pot that is the CQ Universe!!

I enjoyed all the subtleties such as mild references to character names/books (moby lick/***?) and the K4 hangar to name a few.

Superb voice acting and some crisp clear sound effects to accompany a truly RIDICULOUS special effects bonanza!!! my eyes were truly thrilled and I look forward to seeing CQ branch out and expand further in the future.

Nuke Well in Space (with a Thong)

I must also say that the Hi Res version looks outstanding!  Great job Mustachio & Marv! for setting the foundations of K4's CQ Universe!

    Re: Conquest Beginnings Released

    Awwww, shucks, MGM!

    Thanks!

Such an honour!  The 1st Goldie... WOW!  This cannot be mine alone!  No, sir!  So many others have been involved.......

It has been alot of work bringing CONQUEST to TMO, but such a joy to be able share an idea that has been a big part of my life since 1997.   To have it so well recieved and adopted by the entire community is simply overwhelming and outstanding.

Again, I want to emphasize that the success of CONQUEST is directly related to the Community for without the Community's involvment Conquest would never have gotten out of the hangar bay.

Conquest has been supported by the best talent on TMO.  At the forefront has been Mustachio26 who had the courage to step up and write a Conquest script.  Ubernewbie who has provided the expertise to translate the costumes onto in game templates and to provide numerous ships, bases, corridors bridges ... and to prominantly feature CONQUEST in the successful ENIGMA series.  MarvelousGuppiMovies took on CONQUEST as his very own and developed so many new mods and props.  He has actually defined the look and feel for CONQUEST on TMO.  You can see his attention to detail and craftmanship in this first installment of CONQUEST BEGINNINGS.  It was a monumental undertaking to present this movie and by gosh, he pulled it off beautifully!

I applaude all of those associated with the movie....  Each and everyone of you have excelled in bringing a great sci-fi series to TMO.  You are my heroes!  I cannot tell you what it is personally like for me to see these characters come to life.  Right now, I am the happiest man on the face of the earth!  Thank you all!

I know a number of you were "waiting" and "watching" to get a better grip on Conquest........ well....... I am convienced you are as excited as I am!  Now, Conquest is in your hands!  With the talent YOU have, it is going to be one heck of an adventure!

Enjoy CONQUEST BEGINNINGS and please leave a review on Guppi's site.  Everyone on the CONQUEST team is looking forward to hearing your comments here too!

I'll have more about CQ: BEGINNINGS a little later in THE CONQUEST PROJECT thread.
