I mean 3 hours for a download of a 3 minute video?

Possibly you have a slow internet connection, or maybe too many downloads at one time, or just maybe the internet gods don't like you. It could be many things.... I got it in 5 minutes... so it must be you, or your timing.

i use DAP to download everything i need: http://www.speedbit.com/

it finds more than one source for the download so you can download it like 400% faster than it would normally.

I downloaded them all to my xbox 360, while they download play some oneplayer game.  

It dosen't go any faster but it passes time and you can watch them over and over
