Nice ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
So, that means all the new pics (oakfiled fields etc) like the above are 100% in game, no touch ups at all ?
Heh I never know what goes on in your mind aeh nasos....and you easily panic, so I don't know what you're seeing in the pictures that I don't, but yes they're 100% ingame. I'd wait for the first reviews to come up and read their impressions of the graphics before making a judgment. Don't take just my word for it! ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I do not see anything, they just look a bit unbelievable, it is what i wanted to see in a game since gaming was invented ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
So, i hope you excuse my crazy stupid fears, any bad impressions panic me ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
But the release is close, so i will hold until then i guess ...

Uzi: Sam:The version that was shown at PAX was indeed from a while ago, around 10 weeks (give or take). There were some framerate issues that we knew about (esp come to magic effects), also several bugs and the final lighting (environment themes) hadn't been done either.
I kept saying to people at the show that the visuals in the demo we had, weren't final and that the version of today looks much better (since the right coloring and shading etc... has been done) plus the framerate is going to be running at 30.
Bingo. Thanks for clearing that up, and its always a pleasure to have a Dev post here
Yes, a developer always eases the hearts of stupid doubters in panic (me ), and restores all faith back in an instant
I hope we get something on the spell visual effects too ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

Three cheers for ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) framerate, boo reviewers that don't listen to the people presenting a game to them. Thanks for clearing things up Sam.

Or even better, if magazines and fans could wait until the game is actually released, and they play it, before they pass judgement. The screenshots already show what an amazing job the developers have done, but experiencing is believing so many people are going to be eating their critical opinions when they finally get to play the full game and get to see just how great the game will really be.

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
Thanks for clearing that up Sam. Seeing as in all the videos/articles i've seen LH devs have said its a 10 week old build and that you were aware of the bugs (PM has made a point of saying that LH have been fixing them as wel) I don't see any need to worry. People are always going to be overly critical anyhow, and really the graphics look fantastic as they are - I can't imagine how ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) they will look in the finished article. Certainly more than ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) enough for a sandbox game the size of Fable II. ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) Incidentally there is some positive stuff in the topics post, that gamespy preview is actually very positive, especially about the economy. As to their other negative: That working a job dosn't seem right in a game, what about the various games that already have such a thing? Like WoW. ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) That said if you really don't want to do that it sounds like there are plenty of *ahem* other ways to make money of folks.
Stand and deliver, your money or your life!

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
I think anyone expecting Fable 2's graphics to be flawless is being a bit naive. There are going to be faults and problems, but regardless of that I've seen videos on my PC, which usually aren't a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) representation of games, and I thought it looked great, so I'm not worried. And as Sam has said this is an old build, and people are probably quite close to the screen anyway and that can make any flaw, such as jaggies, look worse. I think Fable 2 looks amazing considering all the stuff its showing and doing in the background.

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
That is the first bad thing that I have ever heard about Fable 2. That was also, like you said, a 10 week old build, before they took out all the bugs and touched it up. Also, read this, it's a use who went to PAX. http://community.lionhead.com/forums/thread/3045353.aspx I expect Fable 2 to be amazing and I'm sticking to that. With everything that we've heard about it, how could it not be?

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
Won't the "play from drive" feature that'll be in the new dash-update take care of any framerate issues and make the game run smoother? Seems like everyone has tunnel vision and no one looks at the big picture anymore. Just my 2 cents.

"The panoramas are genuinely impressive, the art team clearly having combined with the game's designers and programmers to create a vision of an RPG landscape that really does look like a fantasy obsessive's wet dream. The visuals are stylised, but not overly so, while the animation and attention to detail will surely be the 360 showcase Microsoft are hoping for."

Sam:
That was a go od read, not much new, but a lot of reassuring points, especially: the game is certainly looking like a polished affair
and you'll also be able to cast a few magic attacks on the fly, which not only look great but can also aid your levelling-up in the thick of the action.
And a recent as they come; posted today!

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
I've gone over this before and so has Mort, and Sam. This is not the final version of the game, feel free to pick up on this AFTER the game comes out and after you have played it for a while and tell me what your problem was with it. I agree some parts of the graphics look iffy but, they will always be doing touchups so don't worry. Now let's not speculate about an unfinished game, see ya. Oh and I thought that Too Human was a VERY ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) game. LOL.

Thanks for clarifying that! I've updated my impressions to reflect this. I genuinely did enjoy the demo enormously; the graphical hiccups were really the only thing that bothered me. The line at PAX was enormous -I must've somehow missed you guys while playing the demo. I did want to ask you guys about that, but again, wading through that line again wasn't exactly desirable.

Okay people, its okay. ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) Can i ask for some calm to be restored to this thread ? lol ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) I'm always really dissapointed to see that on these forums when ever someone raises an issue or a nit-pik they have with Fable 2 they're treated like some kind blasphemy spewing heretic to our god. ![Down []](/emoticons/icon13.gif) I love fable 2, its one of the main reasons i bought my 360 (if you've seen my topic on it lol) i can't wait for this game, even waiting for the pub games was murder! ![Dead [:notalive:]](/emoticons/dead.gif) Yet if someone raises an issue or a minor nit pik they have with fable; or someone says something remotely negative about Fable they get met instead of by an onslaught of "well MMYYYYY opinion" links more links "SEE i told you so" behaviour and ofcourse "OMGZ!!!11 TEH GME DOT FINNISHED Y3T!!" ![Sad [:(]](/emoticons/emotion-6.gif) As i said that is really dissapointing to see because i thought this was a place where we could freely exchange opinions whatever they may be ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) That's what people who critic games do, they criticise. They say the ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) and the bad. So naturally once in a while something bad will be said about the game we're all eagerly awaiting. And the people who say these "bad" things are met with shall we say somewhat "aggitiated" response. I'm not saying Fable Fan-boys go around attacking anyone who doesn't worship the game they want. Not at all. But this thread and another like it about spell appearances have been met with agressive aggitated responses. I've certainly seen some minor arguments happening between people that really should not be happening in the first place. Trust me, no one is going to get a free copy of Fable 2 because they loyally defended it on an internet forum, so don't bother. If some one doesn't like what they see - Fine. They don't need to be talked down to by people keen to display their suppior intellect and devotion to lionhead lol Peace Out Lets ChiLL

Its funny because you actually did get perks like that for being a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) member on the charlieoscar delta forums. I myself won an autographed poster, hat and a few other things. Can't say I'd mind getting perks like that from LH. Anyway... Am I really not getting a free copy of Fable 2? Are you sure??

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
As the devs have said, these visuals will only get better. It doesn't really make sense to condemn the game entirely because it doesn't look as ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) at the demonstration stage. I myself think the graphics look stunning already, later versions will look even more impressive. Looking at the screenshots I can tell you I'm already drawn in to the Fable 2 world. ![Speechles [:zpeech:]](/emoticons/speechless.gif) As for the slowdown, I'm sure it will be addressed in the final build, although some did get through the testing net for Fable 1. On the otherhand, we are not here to make excuses for things that are not up to standard. It won't really help anyone if we do. If the graphics do not look as impressive as we would like, we shouldn't say, "its ok because Lionhead are focusing more on gameplay". First of all, Lionhead are developers of complete computer games, they don't focus on one aspect of this, they aim to bring an innovative and enjoyable experience in all areas including graphics, art, sound, design and gameplay. Demos are there to help people experience aspects of the game, so they'll know what to expect. They are for gaining feedback and points to work on for the final build, and they are also there to impress us and hook us in. If for any reason something does not impress us we should politely ask if the devs know about it. Chances are they will and have an explanation for it, but in the event they don't, they will value the feedback. One thing to also keep in mind though, is that it is about managing gaming resources, like memory and such. In some areas comprimises will have to be made, such as only allowing one dog in the player's world. ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) Lastly, some people forget that the devs are games players too. They have played games enough to know what they need to do to impress us. Lets wait and see, I'm sure we won't be disappointed.
Hopes to work with Lionhead one day...

I usually accept the simplest explanation to a problem or issue and it is that Fable 2 will have great graphics and be a polished game with a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) frame rate. Regards, CB

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
TerryWrist:Okay people, its okay.... ...snip... Lets ChiLL
I have been very reserved. I stayed out of the other thread because, like you say, it's his opinion. But, assuming you've read my posts on here, you will know why I chipped in on this one. And I don't know how heated the other thread was, but this has been very calm. Everyone has simply said to wait for the final game, then make your opinions on the graphics and performance. You said it yourself, nit-picking is what is going on here. "Minute, trivial, unnecessary, and unjustified criticism or faultfinding." SourceThat does give us reason to speak up, and offer our opinions on why we disagree. Our primary and only major response is to say that F2 is not finished yet, and that he shouldn't be so hasty in making claims backed up solely by critics' views. And this is a place where we can freely exchange views, everyone on this thread so far hasn't been aggressive or flaming, just pointing out the facts. TerryWrist:That's what people who critic games do,
they criticise. They say the ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) and the bad. So naturally once in a
while something bad will be said about the game we're all eagerly
awaiting.
No, critics say the ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) and the bad, but criticising is just finding fault; criticise - find fault with; express criticism of; point out real or perceived flaws. Source (Thesaurus section, not the upper meaning, they are used in the critic context) I appreciate that there are and always will be critics, but we are gathered here primarily because we are fans, not critics, well, I am at least. I doubt people want to log in and see all the observed faults with F2, they want topics of speculation and hyping. After the game is released, then people will have first hand experience of the final build to comment on. That will be fair enough, but just repeating on here what has been said by a critic elsewhere is just petty. There may well have been arguments in the other thread by nasos, but this has remained very civil, at least I thought. Your post would have been much more suited to that thread, by the way you've described it. And no one has talked down to anyone here, we've just pointed out our views in response to his. If I might be so bold as to say it sounds like you, if anyone, is talking down to us.... ![ORLY [orly]](/emoticons/orly.gif) Anyway, Sam has had a word, and nasos seems pleased now ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif) Eh nasos?

Re: Reports of mediocre graphics, textures, slow down from PAX, could anyone that visited clear up ?
I'm really not concerned with these issues since its not the release version consumers will see. Considering no one has played the final version, I think we could hold off on this forum until after Oct 21 when we've played it ourselves.
