    SOME MORE FILMING TODAY!!

    UPDATES!
Some added scenes; release format; and medical emergency!

So, production has been going along smoothly. I'm all set up with the new adobe premiere pro, and its quite overwhelming; I definitely have a lot to learn. Due to my lack of knowledge with Adobe, Sony Vegas will still be the editor I use to pre-edit all scenes before doing the final cut with Adobe. This helps me get through the compositing scenes more efficiently and quickly, due to Sony Vegas' powerful and simple keyer.

Anyways, as I was putting some of the scenes together, I noticed some pot holes so, I went in and smoothed those out by adding some scenes. I've even filmed an add-on to the opening which hadn't been initially designed for the film, but with it added, draws the film closer to Nick Blacketer's (co-director) original short story.

I've added some screenshots below for you enjoyment.

And its official, The Grey People will be released in 15 minute episodes over a span of a month or so. The episodes, however, will not follow the traditional episodic outline, but rather just end unexpectedly where the next segment will begin. This is to capitalize on the release while also giving me the chance to promote each episode where we hope to bring in more viewers then a standard long-running release. It keeps it fresh and going. The other benefit is that it will give me the opportunity and the time to dedicate myself fully to the DVD so by the time the last episode airs, the DVD will be ready for people to download or to have shipped to them.

A BIT ON MY PERSONAL LIFE:
Last Saturday, I woke up without the ability to move my foot or my leg while having extreme shooting pain. I went in for a MRI and the diagnosis is a severe disk budge in my lower back that's grinding my sciatic nerve (the biggest nerve in your body that pretty much gives you your leg functions).

Right now, I'm trying to figure out my options and what I can do regarding surgery. I hope you guys can wish me some luck but I assure you, this will not further delay the release of the film. I promise.

By the way the screenies look lovely, this will be your best looking product yet. I can't wait to get started.

Sorry about your condition moonlight. Hope you can find a solution,

If it takes a few months or more to release because of an operation I bet we wouldn't mind Smily [:)] so long as you feel ok Laugh []

Right enough of the philisophical speech.

It looks simply amazing, no words could describe the shots your showing us. The Movies has been taken to the extreme Smily [:)] And it's great

D.L. won't be stopped by a leg/back injury/surgery- and I also say that because of perseverance. I hope that worse doesn't come to worse. I've had surgeries before, and the end results were more painful than right after them (probably because of the numbing-drugs Smily [:)]). But, take care of yourself.

I'm known to flip-flopping as I investigate options. After Ubernewbie suggested an idea as a cool way to introduce the film, I may now re-consider doing the film as a whole.

This is really like a hollywood production, with the long and tedious stages of production to the quality of the film.

    Re: SOME MORE FILMING TODAY!!

That's not really possible Shay. I'm sure, that it's near the beginning production wise, but, that's a G o o d [Good] thing to consider, since, taking time on stuff ensures it's efficiency in many aspects of film by a lot.

It's Shayne (not dshure if my name was mispelled or misunderstood). I know , but im just looking for a guess here. I'm guessing he has a script of some kind.

    If you have a script.

Hpow many pages have you done, and how many in all?

    Re: SOME MORE FILMING TODAY!!

I'm about 20% finished with animation. The screenplay is 108 pages long. I've just finished animated page 20.

When the hard drive failed, I was about 70 percent finished, the the screenplay was only about 70 pages.

We are expecting a Spring 2009 release. But we will keep everyone updated as we have.

    Re: SOME MORE FILMING TODAY!!

I'm liking this, and I thought I'd make my comment even more public by putting it here:

    1. On October 25th, 2008 at 5:35 pm The Maverick (owner of Nexus Interative Studios) Says:

This project is amazing! I never seen such meticulous production done for any medium since Spider-man 3 and King Kong, and games like the new Prince of Persia and the already released game Assassin’s Creed.

If it doesn’t hurt people’s computers that have low bandwidth or whatever then go ahead and export it in that ’super-high’ quality you’ve talked about.
The DVD idea pretty much eliminates that problem, but some purists may want to see it on whatever site you put it on.

If you can, then include anti-aliasing and Z-buffering to the film’s graphics if possible, that way, like the pixel amount in a digital camera, you’ll get the best clarity for the movie.

    Body of Lies: 10/10
    Changeling: 8/10
