While I was with Hammer at the bandit coast the game locked up on me. Now whenever I try to start the game I never make it past the Lionhead logo. It just freezes and I have yet to even reach the title screen since this happened.

Same thing happened to me. I was getting ready to help out those two guys with that book again in Wraithmarsh and when I saved it froze and like many others in here I thought 'oh, no big deal... I'll load it up again.' and to my horror I got the big blank screen. I tried to load it a few times with no luck. I even tried clearing the cache and everything, and that didn't work.

As you can imagine I was pretty far in the game, did loads of side quests and put a lot of time into it and now this happens. To say I'm gutted is an understatement.

I really hope they fix this.

I got about 13 hours in and had to save my game.  The save seemed ok but when I came back on and tried to load the save information my XBOX crashed.  I have not been able to load anything since and have tried everything.  The idiots at Microsoft support have no idea.  Man they are slow.  So many people are having issues and they dont' even know about it.  Nice one Microsoft and Lion.

After doing some playing around in it to test how to get the no load save to happen again. It seems to happen with the "Save and Quit" feature, i was doing save and continue, turning the xbox off, loading several times, then did a save and quit, and got the horrid black screen of death on loading my game. Anyone else notice the same thing. Those of you that this happened to, was this after a save and quit?

Multiple freeze ups in multiple places with two separate discs. Please at least tell us you are working on it.

Um, well yeah. This is slightly retarded. Is there a post from ANYONE from xbox or lionhead ANYWHERE ?? Or are they too braindead to actually monitor their forums for any problems or glitches, and this glitch is beyond a glitch it is a MAJOR defect. Very unimpressed with this, and to be honest I have never posted on any forum for any game ever until this. I expect full reimbursement because wasting time playing video games is one thing but wasting time on video games that cannot even keep a saved game is like masturbation without a payoff.

Ok my problem may be a little different from everyone else i don't know but my problem is i have fully beaten the main story and i am now doing the side quests and buying property ect. so now i am at the point where the Brightwood tower quest is basically one of the 10 quests i have left but every time i go to Brightwood it loads and it appears on screen allows me to move for a second and then freezes. I really would like a fix without starting a new character. I have tried everything I got rid of the co-op patch and cleaned my cache. I really want lionshead to make a fix for this because it is the only thing that draws the game back for me
 

I'd say my patience as a consumer is at an end. I'm taking this back and getting Fallout 3.

Load Screen Freeze

Ok, so im a Senior in High School, i bought this game at the midnight release at my local Gamecrazy store. i got home at around 12:45 and played the game for a grand total of 4 hours, then went to bed, woke up 3 hrs later and was doing the blacksmithing mini-game, when a freind of mine tryed to join, it put us in the "joining" screen, after he accepted, i accepted, and as it was spawning him in my world he was dissconnected, and my Xbox locked, i restarted it, and i hit the load screen for 2 hours... honestly i was infuriated.

i called Xbox support, and after 90 min of B.S. the supervisor i was talking to decided to tell me to pay 20$ for a replacement disk, i refused, he offered it again, this time he offered to give me a free copy of "Viva Pinata", ARE YOU KIDDING?? I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY MY FABLE 2 GAME, i spent 75.66$ of money that i shouldnt have spent on a game i cant play???? and there best attempt to help me is to offer me viva pinata???

I'm with you guys on this one. After the first main mission (tomb in the island), I saved my game and quit. Today when I get to the title screen, after hitting A, the music and sound completely goes away. When I select "Continue" or "New Game" or anything else, the game completely locks up. This is complete highway robbery. We paid over $60 for this game and all we get is a crap beta version? I think Lionhead really rushed this out of the gates. We need a patch FAST for this because I can't even play the damn game. Give us a patch or give us our money back.

Same situation here, I have restarted my xbox well over 100 times just to save Garth. Once I saved him, I had to go to his castle, once there I saved the game and went through a teleporter for a load screen. It ends up, where I saved is impossible for me to load due to this bug/glitch thing. I am completely devastated after spending well over 20 hours of the main quest, jobs, and side quest. I don't know what to do know... kinda bored but I have managed to figure out that co-op still works. I have called 1800-4my-xbox twice and one person said to get a new disc which i did and the other says my xbox is broken which is obviously not true because that'd mean thousands of xboxs are broken just due to this game. When will a lionhead rep come forward and talk to their audience and let me know whats going on? I spent 60 dollars and tons of time on this bug-full ****ty-*** game and end up with no response. Thanks a ton lionhead for great comunication and intelligence.

I am repeating this from other forum topics.  I just played all the way through the game, I let the credits roll and it showed my character on the docks at Oakfield and then it all went to hell in a hand basket. The letter -- I mean part of the letter from the citizens of Albion showed on the screen and then it froze up. WTF. I had to shut the game off and reload... it tried to load at the Tattered Spire but I just get a blank screen... evidently the save file corrupted. I didn't pay my money for a game that doesn't or can't even finish correctly after you worked hours creating and building your character up. Boy what an enjoyable experience. They must have play tested it with first graders for about ten minutes for the game to have this many problems upon release.

Also, I can't believe that you get ONE lousy savegame. So if that savegame is corrupted, there goes your entire game.

BTW, I logged in with one of my other XBOX live profiles and re-started the game. It started ok, but as soon as I got to the antique dealer selling the music box, the game went to hell. When I hold down LT, the antique dealer doesn't talk at all. It just shows him with his back to the people and not doing a thing. I hit the START button to get to the menu and that's when the game locked up again.

I re-started the game again and now, as before, it locks up as soon as the Lionhead logo goes off the screen and I'm stuck with the white screen of death.

I have to say, I have NEVER seen a game crash this badly with so many bugs. This is worse than any game I've ever played on a PC and definitely the buggiest thing I've ever played on my 360. At this point I'm just sitting with a useless coaster that cost me $60. I'm REALLY hoping that Lionhead is reading these posts and working on a patch ASAP because frankly I'm extremely angry and feel bamboozled out of 60 hard-earned dollars. I have been waiting for this game so patiently and it has been so hyped and now this has completely destroyed the experience for me. Make on this Lionhead.

I bought my copy at Gamestop a few days ago, and when I first started it up (my Xbox isn't online), it asked to do a patch.  I went ahead and ok'd it, and I've had no real problems.  I'm done with 98 percent of the quests, the main quest, own just about all real estate, and I've maxed out my abilities.  The only glitches I noticed are the things like getting stuck behind doors, or in a corner with your dog or a person blocking you, that sort of thing.  Although, even after buying a few houses, I can't open the back doors.

Did any of you guys with the game breaking bugs get asked to patch the game immediately on startup?  Do I have the same version as you guys, or is this a newer release where they've fixed this crap?

Sent mine back. Did the same as guy above when I used another profile it crashed when the music box guy was talking. Will be interesting to see if new disc solves the problem, anyone done this and its either worked or not?

I am guessing the fact the xbox sounds like it is taking off it has damaged the disc some how, even though there are no scratches at all. Even GTA does not sound this loud when playing.

I am sorry, but a new disk won't do anything. I know of a lot of people that tried second disks, and it still failed. I have the same problem, except the freezes are more like a "oh I think I will freeze now." It can be anywhere from 10 mins, to 2 hours. Nothing has worked, no patch, no cache...This is a bug, not a hardware problem, so only a new patch will fix this.

Well, I read on Kotaku that they contacted Lionhead and they are saying that they will be releasing a patch soon to address the bugs. I just hope this lockup issue is highest on the list because my game is completely un-playable. I paid $60 to watch the Lionhead logo come up and then have the game lock up.

Hmmm... This reminds me of a problem I had in rogue galaxy on the PS2. After some research, I found out that the disc was double layered, and could only be read by newer PS2s. Anyone know if the 360 has undergone any hardware changes to the DVD drive?

I recently experienced this. Can't load/save/play it at all now. A few minor scratches have appeared since I bought it and before the game would freeze I would frequently get a horrific grinding noise and then silence from the 360. Every single other game in my collection of around 15 or so works fine and always have. I've never had anything even remotely like this happen in 20 years of gaming.

I phoned Lionhead to mention this to them the lass on reception was aware of the problem because of these forums - so the do read them! She said simply that they are looking into it.

 

Any warranty is handled by Microsoft and the only option they gave me was console repair (£60 and not needed) or disc replacement (£10 and not even a consideration) just not sure that another disc will help; it's not like I'm alone is it?

well I plumped for a replacement disc from the ASDA I bought it from. Played it for 6 hours straight last night and so far so . Save game is fine an up until now there has been no freezing/grinding/scratching.

You should maybe all try a replacement if you can. I was assured by the staff at ASDA that I could return the new disc if tht too began to misbehave.

Found it in the blog section. Patch expected mid-December apparently, whether it fixes all the probs people are having we will have to wait and see...
