i'm serieus im REALLY ****ING DISSAPOINTED.
Wow OTT reaction a bit.
Guess what? I don't even have Fable 2 yet. From what I can tell the main criticisms are:
1) Bugs
2) Even though I see me as my Hero the other player sees you as a henchman (i may be wrong about that though, I've yet to find a sensibly written criticsm),
3) That Woody told you to stop bitching.
The first problem is inevitable with games. Sure from what I can see there are a lot of bugs for a next gen game, and maybe Lionhead SHOULD have picked up on them, but they didn't. While it does make me raise an eyebrow and wonder if Lionhead rushed Fable 2 a little bit too much rushing a game to get it out to their fans isn't that bad. Would you have preferred if they said: Fable 2 will be delayed until next April? I know I wouldn't I'm gutted I have to wait another 3 days and THEN I can't even play it because I'm in uni from 11 until 5, god knows what another 6-8 months would do.
Second problem to me isn't a big deal. OK I can't see my friend's hero, that sucks a bit but it's not the end of the world, they are still there, still able to do all the stuff they can do in their game and I'm still playing Fable with them. Still a pretty
feature. If I'm wrong and they HAVE to play as a generic henchman who doesn't have any of the abilities or items their single player character has then I'm slightly disappointed in Lionhead, though not foaming at the mouth while typing as you seem to be.
Third problem is probably about the fact of Woody's apparently unprofessional reaction to this thread. While I would agree that personally I find the reaction unprofessional I don't hold it against him. This game has been the developer's LIFE since Fable 1 basically. What gives you or anyone else the right to sit there and tear into the game? I'm not saying that companies should ignore criticism, but there's a difference between criticism and full blow mental attack on not only Fable 2 but the Lionhead team personally.
I'd almost definitely say if this thread started with "I was dissapointed to find out that the other player in online co-op appears as a henchman. OK it's only an aesthetic difference bu morphing is a major part of the game, and in fact one of the selling points. The ability to drop into some one's world and see how they have shaped it was one Peter pushed really hard, it's disappointing to see that someone can't drop into there world and allow you to see how their actions have shaped THEM." that there wouldn't have been a response from a dev and, if there was, it'd have probably been more sympathetic and professional.
Quite frankly if I had just seen some ungrateful little punk who couldn't do what the team has pulled off tear into it and blame them for everything just asking them if they wanted a handbag would be not drastic enough for me. I'd probably get fired for calling them all whining little ingrates whose mothers obviously forgot to teach them manners and probably went around screaming "Gimme! Mine!" every time they saw a chocolate bar.
