Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

The co-op is obviously an afterthought. If i play co-op with a friend over xbl that would mean that the player who joins as a henchman won't complete the game for himself/herself, when he/she leaves the other players world all that he/she gained was gold and xp, so why would anyone want to play co-op before beating the game first?

Not to add fuel to the fire but...

    http://community.lionhead.com/forums/thread/2859601.aspx

    Under the Features list:

If you go into another persons game as a guest the look of the character will be based off of your character's look. If you don't have a character of your own you'll have a generic pre-determined look to your hero

    And this: http://www.gamesradar.com/video/v-2008022210923493050

In all seriousness, they might end up reimplementing using your actual hero in someone else's co-op game. Especially if they actually have that listed at the community forums official info section with the video linked to it as well.

    Oh that is f****ng priceless.

Oh, and G o o d [Good] job f****ng up on the co-op Lionhead, you either release a patch enabling a carry over of items and actual heroes playing together (IN BOTH MODES COUCh and LIVE) or no sale from me.

    G o o d [Good] god damn thing I waited.

Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

I just signed up to this forums to share my opinion on how crappy they made the online co-op. I, like many others find it almost impossible to play because of the shitty camera angles.

I also don't like the whole generic character crap. Why shouldn't we be able to use our own character? Isn't that what an RPG is all about ?

Lastly i just wanted to say how idiotic that dev "Woody" was with his comment. Instead of using this forum as it was meant; to take in feedback from your consumers, you decided to mock them, which is highly unprofessional.

I sincerely hope many others learn how to mod their xbox's so they can pirate your shitty game, because i know that it was the biggest letdown since Perfect Dark Zero. Horrible, just horrible.

Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

Fable 2 is a great game dont get me wrong but I do have the right to complain when I think i have been conned on one of the main features of the game. I had the first Fable , I loved it,I now have the second Fable and i also love it and with the idea of playing co-op with one of my mates and seeing each others world and character did excite me but now I feel the game is missing something. I also feel like I have just been scamed. Also i am a little dissapointed after spending £50 which is quite a lot to some and be treated like dirt from one of the games makers.Sad [:(] (Woody) . I shouldnt have to do 'research' about a game and go into every little aspect trying to spot an area where i would be caught out.Now when I come back to read this I will no doubt get someone giving me abuse who  either sucks up to LH in order to earn some brownie points or some person who doesnt believe i should get my own opinion

Hopefully LH will release an update or something so that the co-op is what we expected and hoped for. In the meantime i will spend most my team in the campaign (which is actually very G o o d [Good]).

Nobody will care you don't buy the game. Only yourself. It's JUST co-op.

Get over it, go play the bloody game. Grow some balls. For the sake of embarassing yourself again.

dude are you ****ed in the head or something? trying to be a wiseguy?

well lionhead and microsoft cares. without fans buying the game, lionhead and microsoft wont make any money. and without money there wont be a ****ing company named lionhead, and no more lionhead games. so it all comes together that everyone cares even you! because there wont be a fable 3 if there aren't alot of fans buying the game. But everyone knows people do buy Fable 2 in spite of this, I know I will. It's still an awesome game. It's a matter if Lionhead can and want to make an expansion or the like.

i know but the sell ratings will still go down much because people will just rent the game or they will return it to the shop etc.

Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

Fable 2 is definitely a solid game that's marred by a few irritating aspects that are hindering the immersion that Peter and Lionhead have worked hard to create.

The implementation of a "rubber-banding" camera system in a same-couch-cooperative session is understandably a necessary E v i l [Evil] but it's presence over a XBL session is unfortunate and unwelcome.

The lack of a system-link facility is a shame as well, but given the nature of the current camera system, players might as well play it on the single Xbox 360 anyway. Playing on a single console also allows the second player to "see" what the host player is doing (they can read the same documents, view the inventory etc. - which is better than nothing) instead of facing a "player one has paused the game" screen during a XBL session.

Other quirks such as being trapped by the crowd, the golden-guide temporarily losing it's bearings, the sometimes hit-and-miss pressing "A" to interact with objects and NPCs, the disappearance of shopkeeper NPCs,  the overall lack of challenge etc., etc. are not game-breakers (most can be worked around) by any means, but can aggravate on occasion.

However Fable 2 has one of the best volumetric lighting systems I've ever experienced in any game, irrespective of platform. Watching my character being bathed with light (and shadows) from the setting sun was sublime ... wow. Many a Fable 2 sunset and moonrise are now etched indelibly in my mind. The game is also vast, so much so that it can be slightly overwhelming. Sometimes my partner and I switch the golden-guide back on to get our bearings and before switching it off again. It's also refreshing to experience a game that's vibrant and so infused with colour and movement instead of the bland and dull (is that a word?) colour schemes found in most games of this generation.

Thanks Lionhead for giving us Fable 2. When you guys return from your deserved break, perhaps you could address some of the issues that we (to varying degrees of intensity and passion Smily [:)]) have discussed?

    Cheers
    Mr T.
    aka. Lord Panda (XBL GamerTag)

Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

The fact that they did not make the game full co-op is more than a little dissapointing, its not a "to *** with this I wont play it..." but it is pretty lame on their part. My wife and I were looking forward to being able to play the game together and both of us get a full game experience playing the game together not having the ability to do that is a huge downfall on Lionhead's part in my opinion. There were a lot of couples that I know that were looking forward to the same thing and are just as dissapointed as we are at this. Its a true shame that the "co-op" is this bad.

They might not have come and given full details on how it would have played in "co-op" but just by using the term co-op, for a lot of people this means that you will be able to play the game with another person and you will both be able to play the full game and experience the full game playing it at the same time. Making it to where the other person is just a henchman and not able to interact with anything in the world other than to attack mobs... that isnt co-op. They should have just left it out until they could get it fully polished and then released it later on.
    42. Is the correct answer. Its just the question that had an error...

Re: Are you Serious with the CO Op

Look it's one thing not liking the co-op feature for what it is, that's your right and no one here at Lionhead minds you giving noise to that opinion as long as you aren't rude about it.

It's a complete different matter to shout so loud and say we're breaking promises left, right and centre because that is simply not true. It's a lot of balony, the feature is what it is, we decided to make it like that. Don't like it? Too bad. For every one person that's complaining there's twenty playing the game. I suggest you do that as well.
