stJonnie,
It sounds like a case of GEG (game ending glitch). Dont worry you're not alone, it's happened to me twice already.

Implodinggoat:I've been playing Fable 2 for about 15 hours now and was having a great
time, and had amassed a small fortune; but now its all gone.
My
X Box lost power while the game was saving, so I got a corrupted save
file which results in the game telling me that the disc is unreadable
when it attempts to load my continue.
Of course if Lionhead had
allowed a system with multiple saves this wouldn't be a problem; but
now gamers are suffering as a result of this sytlistic choice.
Please
Lionhead, tell me there is some way of accessing an older save; or at
the very least get off your asses and get working on an update for this
Now.
I could give a *** about online co-op; this is a much
bigger deal. I just lost hours of gameplay and I'm not even that far
into the game. Imagine if this were to happen to a player who was at
the very end of the game.
The game is fun so I don't mind starting over that much; but I'm out lik 500 grand in gold here.
I had 50 grand in equipment, 85000 in gold, and I owned 3 stalls in Bowerstone, 2 stalls in Oakdale, the bar in Oakdale, the weapon shop in Bowerstone, the carriage house in Bowerstone and Oakdale, two houses in Bowerstone, and two houses in Oakdale and was a master blacksmith and woodcutter.
The only possible way I can think of for Lionhead to make up for my lost time is to get a hold of me through X Box live and send me about 500 grand.
My gamertag is implodinggoat.
Ummm, Lionhead if you're reading my prior post (the one I'm quoting now) you can forget it. Turns
out the reason the game was telling me the disk was scratched was
because, it actually was. I'm not sure how or when it happened; but I
got a new disk and everything is working fine. I still think an
option for a backup save would be nice; but its not to needed fix the
bug I thought I'd run into; because said bug doesn't exist. Though I
suppose it might hypothetically; but theres no empirical evidence for
that conclusion.

I find it strange that no one else has had my issue that I posted on the first page, which forced me to start the game over (very tedious, BTW) - which was 4 hours down the drain. Now that I see all these bugs/glitches, I'm scared to continue playing... EDIT: So I'm not the only one! Sorry to hear, Nagash, I know how frustrating it is. Sadly, I don't think there's anything we can do to fix it. Patch, please, thank you.

Aaron89:I have a huge glitch/bug that I encountered last night, and it literally stops all progression in the game. MINOR mission (side quest) spoiler in the first image:
http://i33.tinypic.com/1585y6h.jpg
http://i37.tinypic.com/2dbv1gg.jpg
Now to the description, which also contains spoilers of the "The Sculptor" side quest:
I already commissioned the statue, but set the quest back to "primary"
when I wanted to see if it was complete. I went into the circled area
to talk to her, then the "Accept" dialogue came up. Now, IT CANNOT GO
AWAY! It's stuck there no matter what I do, or where I go. I can only
walk (not run), and I can't draw weapons or travel/start a new quest
(reference image 2).
Please, someone tell me that I'm doing something wrong. I can't seem to
get rid of the dialogue at the top, and renders my "A" button useless.
I refuse to believe this game was tested for bugs at all. Not even 5 hours in and I've already had a serious problem like this?! EDIT: And yes, I've tried holding the "A" button down many times. All it does is fill the circle clockwise and stay full - nothing happens. Can't believe I might have to restart my game...
Son of a...... I'm having this EXACT same problem verbatim... TWICE in a row now. Had this prob once so I started a new game after hours of messing with it. Now I'm back to this part and it's doing it AGAIN! I was absolutely loving this game, but my god has this been a frustrating experience playing for 20+ hours and having the game do this to me twice.

all of the statues you can interact with in the game have frozen in a weird default postion with no mask to fall off anymore.
all of my paid for sculptures are no longer in posed positions.
i think this was a result of someone joining my game. co-op is plagued with bugs

Just gonna copy/paste my topic. So I got the Rising Sun in early Adulthood, by donating to the Temple of Light. After a certain point in the story (Hero of Will), I came back to the Temple, and after donating my usual 1000 G for some ' ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) '
points, I got the message from before about donating when the Sun is at
its highest. Thinking it might be a new gift, I did and got another
Rising Sun. Fine, fine, I can handle that. But now I'm randomly getting
them when I travel to new areas, or reload the game after a break. I've
got 4 now, and I know that can't be right. I'm worried about my save corrupting, or something else along those lines. The quest itself reset after Hero of Will and is now stuck on the 'donate at the Zenith' phase, meaning I suppose I could get as many Suns as I want, which I already do, cuz they're dropping out of the damn sky. Problem is, if this quest has a 'conclusion' I don't think I can reach it now...

My D-pad menu has disappeared. I made the mistake of saving my game and now it seems all my progress is ruined, because reloading, quitting and reloading didn't bring it back. Apoligies if this has been mentioned already. I didn't see a search thread tool. I started a thread but is already on page 3 30 minutes later. ![Sad [:(]](/emoticons/emotion-6.gif) This would not have been so detrimental if we had more than one save slot!
Owner of Fable II, CBE (Commercial Beta Edition) Lucien may have killed my sister, but the auto-save killed five of my games. Take a guess at which one I hate more.

First of all the game was going
great the first day of playing I enjoyed it it was full of things
and although we all know it was over hyped and we didn't get everything
we were promised the games still great. I played maybe 14 hours of
fable (I'm off school this week) I had a pretty character bought
alot of bowerstone and had only had one problem up to this point, which
was I didn't get everything from the pub games I had earned all the
items and I didnt get the chair, the table or a few other I can't
remembered. No biggy. I got the weapons so I was ok with no furniture. Here
is what happened to my character: My gf came over, so I decided to let
her start a new game, I started up the new game on my gamertag starting
hero #2 for the gamertag. I then decided to join in so I started up on
my control and got in. We played through childhood and when we grew up
it asked me to pick a character from my other games/profiles. I picked
game 1 (my original character) after playing for another hour, my gf
had beaten the guild at the beginning and I was still playing with her.
She had to go. So before driving her home I decided to show her my
character, loaded up my game and my character had lost ALL the gold I
had, ALL the XP from the game so far I read the logbook it told me that
was 361996 XP total. I had all level 3 spells and one level 4, lots of
armor, guns and medium- melee. My character is also completely
**** it slides everywhere unable to actually run. it can still do
combat, and level up skills but there is little point when I'm down to
level 1 everything I may start a new game I may not haven't decided.
Either way be careful when using coop I suggest DONT enter another game
on the same console as a child and use a different gamertag at all
times when doing coop!!

So im playing my game just started it, everything seems normal, then all of a sudden when i get out of the main city that you have to fight to get to at the start of the game, i leave that city to go to my first quest and the muisic is playing but my character action noise is not there, it went away, no sword swinging no farting noise, nothing, that turned me off of the game pretty fast, im highly disipointed, and further more, i saved my game and rebooted the xbox and tried it again, same problem and if i go to a different level, same problem, WTF ![Confused [8-)]](/emoticons/emotion-43.gif) ![Angry [:@]](/emoticons/emotion-12.gif)

Tenderize:Actually, very few, if any, 360 games have multiple save files. You need to switch gamertags in order to make a new file.
I can't remember playing a single XBOX360 game that didn't have multiple saves. Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddysey, BioShock, Condemned, DMMM. GTAIV too I think.
Owner of Fable II, CBE (Commercial Beta Edition) Lucien may have killed my sister, but the auto-save killed five of my games. Take a guess at which one I hate more.

Sound FX have stopped working.
Was wandering around killing bandits and my guns/dog/sword all other sound fx just stopped working. I tried restarting my 360 and reloading my save to no avail. There are a lot of topics on GameFaqs about this issue, something needs to be done.
I'm not too pleased with this game at the moment. For having soooo long and building up sooo much hype, my gun should still make noise. Something needs to be fixed.
