Hit this too. Played with my partner and my guy flipped from to , and lost about all gold, abilities, and all his xp.

This post is directed to Lionhead Studios and all of my fellow players who need to be aware of this bug so it doesn't happen to you.  I need to state clearly, I have tried this on LOCAL coop with the game patched to the latest.  I have not tried this on online coop yet.  But I assume it will yield the same results.

And again, I apologize if this has been mentioned before.  There isn't a bug report forum so I have no idea what has been posted in terms of this problem.

It's simple.  My brother stopped by for a visit last night and loaded up his own XBOX Live profile, while I loaded mine.  He created a NEW Fable II game, and I joined his game with my existing character.  I had lots of spells, thousands of gold and experience.  Well it appears the game initializes at some point during the child experience and it erases your gold, experience and all of your abilities.  0.  Zip.  Nada.

Upon testing coop play when both games were already in Hero phase, the game worked correctly and each player had their own experience and abilities. 

Lionhead, you need to fix this, because i'm sure people would like to jump in with their characters to help out noobie friends, and they are going to be pissed when all their hard work was completely wiped.  There is no getting it back either.  You just take a total loss.

The work around for now is... if you have a player who is just starting out, do not join their game until they are least out on their own and heading for Browerstone.  I would also like to get some confirmation on this bug just to make sure i'm not missing something to duplicate this.

I wish I would have read this a little sooner.... lost over 200k experiance and all my skills plus more then 300k gold from my pub games! I'm pretty pissed and have been workin as a blackmith for 2 hors to get my money back but not even close and I have regone through the crucible twice now and have about one skill where it should be... I'm just about done with this game

That's all? I lost 1.3mllion XP and 1million gold. I was at reaver. I kept my exp pots I had, I played without saving and got achievment without saving to after hero of skill. 2 max xp 1 max will and lvl4 xp FTW

Not yet, but I had an dea that GMs could do to help people. In journal,shows total XP earned. GMs could get a custom potion that does that much xp(general), go into persons game, give them all xp, then drink it or gift it. Might be troubbesome, but it would help.

Ok, so the same thing happened to me.  I have been playing my Fable II in a co-op game and everything was fine, then played with another friend who started from the beginning of the game and all my exp etc... was wiped. 

(As far as I know this only happens if you join a friends game that is still at the child phase of the game.  So, if you only play co-op AFTER the child section it shoud be safe.  Correct me if I'm wrong.)

ANYWAY, my question is this, if Lionhead know about it why is there not some type of warning on their website or SOMETHING to attempt to let us know.  Even some kind of update that has a list of things to look out for in the game, least then they wouldn't have to take responsiblity.  I mean CMON!  Lost all my exp and skills so I may as well start the game from the beginning again.  I know people make mistakes, but owning up to the bug and letting consumers know should be the first thing they do.

I also had a lot of problems with glitches.

1. Got the Monk glitch had to start new charachter.

2. Accidentaly sold Lucius' Journal and accepted quest was stuck in the cave and pissed off and had to start another charachter

3. opened a door closed it then opened it again (the door swung and kicked me back into a corner behind the door!)even more !!!!!!!!

I don't understand why you guys are complaining so much.  It's a freaking huge game, of course it's going to have bugs/glitches/problems...they're working on fixing them.  If you've lost all your experience/money/abilities..start a new character and be if you were , or vice versa.  Be glad you have the game at all...they could've just waited to release it a year from now when there would be half as many bugs. 

It's not like they're ignoring you.  They know about these issues and they're working on them.  So cut them some slack. 

Well to all of you that lost exp just(if you have a second controller) start a couch co-op and have the second player(can be yourself) use defualt henchman not a save and then once your in discard every stat of the second players henchman then leave and all the exp from the abilitys will be transfered to the main hero in the game.

Its a really cheap way for exp I never used it and I don't need to use it, might be worth fixing.
