i have had fable 2 for 30 mins and the first time i play on it i get to the vendor and it freezes after hearing about mirror. i have deleted cache and it still doesnt work plz help

same here but mine freezes right in the begging. I tryed restartin it doze a of times but it still freezes. I tryed a differt game ant it work so I took fable2 back to get a new one but the game still froze.

I am having the same problems with the game. Should i return my copy?

i get a "black screen of death" after loading a saved game. I saved just before going into the crucible. Dont know what to do. I do NOT want to start over.

same i restarted the cache thing ang reloaded the game and everything but it wont stop freezing everytime i load my save games

I understand I have the same problem. I have found a solution to fix it though (Temporarily).

Turn on 360 and Clear memory cache and DO NOT install the updates at all. The only down side for now is that you will be signed off from LIVE. Saved games may not work.

For me I started over and have played for 9 hours and no freeze and problems or Black screen.

This worked for me, I have an Jan 07 360 so it is alittle old and I have heard those older 360's are having the problem with this, which is F***ed-up if that is the case. We should get a firm-ware update or something. Quality Microsoft...lol.

 

I cleared the cache deleted my saved games and started a new game and now it freezes after the merchant talks about the mirror.  This really sucks.  I was really looking forward to fable 2 and now it looks like I'm just going to return it.

Oh no, I have a Jan 07 Xbox as well, and the game freezes for me, around every 10 mins- 1 hour. I have cleared the cache and it still froze. I read in some places that if you turn off the orbs it would be ok, it froze in about 2 hours. So, what I have learned from all of these forums is, its not the game, because many  people have multiple copies of the game that still freeze. There is a black screen of death, which I have never gotten. Finally, that this is only happening on Jan 07 xboxes. Have I been screwed? What should I do? because I don't think I can buy another Xbox =(

so this freezing thing happened to me 3 times in the same area while it was auto saving so it crashed my profile so i cant play it is this the same problem you are having?

My game freezes every time I try to load up my game save. The fact that you can only overwrite a game save (and can't have multiple saves for one hero) sucks, as now I can't play as my hero, that I spent ages stacking up the gold and items for in the pub games before fable 2 release.

I remember it saving in the Westcliff area while in co-op over Live, but since then the game save goes through the gears loading page ok, and on to the game screen, but then after 3 seconds it just freezes. The music still plays, the trees and plants still sway and the rain still .... rains. But my characters ( hero and dog) can't move and I can't access the menus and the fire doesn't move and no button on my controller does anything except for the xbox guide button.

So, I am forced to turn off my xbox or go to dashboard.

I waited ages for this game, paid a lot of money for it, and I it is really annoying to have this problem.

Does anyone else have this exact problem?

Are lionhead gonna fix this problem or am I gonna have to take this game back?

I can't be bothered spending another (insert massive number here) hours getting my gold and items for a new hero or patron.

My game freezes too - Lionhead is a disgrace! Taking peoples hard earned cash - and giving us nothing in return! I call these type of companies thieves!

 

Eithier sort this out now - or give all of us our money back, and do it now.

I purchased my copy of Fable 2 and was thrilled. I loved the first one. I even bought the Collectors edition. I get it home, connect to xbox live to claim my extras, and turn the game on. What's this? My brand new game freezes when I just try to start a new game?!? I was very close to returning the thing and calling it quits, but I'll give Lionhead a little more time for a fix. Very unhappy.

As does everybody here, i also have the same problem, all i can do when it freezes is access the guide and it's really annoying because it slows my xbox down too. I really am dissappointed with lionhead and they better fix this bug. This is probably a really stupid question that nobody probably knows the answer to but does anyone know when the next update comes out?

I have also had this issue only it went even further:

Myself and my girlfriend have been playing Fable 2 since launch day off and on.  During Sat Oct 25th the game froze once after playing local co-op. After this it played normally until the afternoon of Sun Oct 26th where it started repeatedly freezing during single player missions. Everytime my girlfriend tried to load her saved game she can't take more than 3 or 4 steps before the game completely freezes. When rebooted the game repeated a cycle of starting up but freezing, being rebooted and then giving a RROD etc. etc.   Now the system has completely died and only gives a RROD when powered up.

Before Fable 2 there were no freezing problems on my Xbox. It is an older 20gb system from launch and has already been sent back for repair 2x. The last time was a year ago and I hadn't had a problem until we started playing Fable 2.

I feel like Fable 2 killed my xbox. Everything else (Fable: Lost Chapters, Halo 3 on and offline, Bioshock, Orange Box on and offline, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect) have all worked beautifully). Fable 2? Freezes and then dies.

This is the fourth hero I have tried and this time I just ran to the gate to Oakfield at rookridge after the Hobbe cave. It froze while loading Oakfield AGAIN. 4 Time. This game is a piece of crap. Anyone else having this particular issue? Any suggestions? Clearing ther cache didnt work

Actually I can't even go into the Wellspring with any of my character either. My Fable 2 game just stops letting me go forward after I dive off of the bridge, which sucks because now I am stuck in rookridge

yup i've actually played mine for a number of hours, and i go to load a saved game, anygame, it starts loading and then gets about half way through, then quits loading and my xbox freezes, and so i restarted tried again and now it just keeps doing that everytime, i've tried everything and nothing. So i took my disk out witch hasnt been taken out of my xbox since i put it in there, has 2 long thin scratches along the outside of the disk, and many other people are having the same problem, i have no other problems with any of my other games, I play GTAIV for like 72 hours straight and my disk is still as perfect as when it came out of the box......
Great Job Lionhead, me and many others are extremely disappointed and lots of others (Including me) would greatly appreciate their money back for such a poor quility off the line product.

Hi, I recently posted about my freezing issue, and after having calmed down I decided I wanted to complete the damn game anyway (main quest).

So, I made another hero, although I am not playing co-op at all and it has frozen once (still, once too many) at a point late on in the game where u defeat a 'Great Shard' (I'll spoil no more), But it does autosave just before hand so that wasn't a major issue.

I successfully completed the main quest, and to be honest with you all, I now don't care that much about the stuff I gained from pub games before the release of fable 2, because I now have WAY better stuff. And gold is easy to come by.

All in all, the game is absolutely amazing. Taking into account I still have loads to do, there are many bugs still in the game and the asking price of £45 (or US equivalent whatever it was/ is) for the LCE (which, didn't come in a cool tin, didn't have a figurine or the fate cards I don't care about),

I give the LEC version of the game 8/10. Purely because it is so addictive and fun (and yes I really care for my 'loved ones' in the game because I am just that sad) It would be 10, but all these bugs make it lose 1 and so does the asking price after the disappointing loss of cool stuff (the dvd and LEC downloadable content isn't worth an extra £5 in my opinion).

I to played co-op (but over live) and now my game is always freezing. Is this going to kill my x-box and is there going to be a patch to fix that which is otherwise a great game?

Game was freezing on white screen of death sceen after lionhead logo, gave the disc a nice wipe and that worked. Disc was scratch free and new before giving a clean so don't see why this was an issue. Realise this wont work for everyone but it worked for me. 

Im NOT a happy bunny, like others had the game for ten mins, got as far as the vendor after kicking the chickens and the game freezes, snow still snows but thats about it, I thought it was me at first, my xbox is one of the origenals and there was a download when i first put the game in, but it still doesnt work, I havent played the xbox for a couple of years (PC Man), but when I saw this game was out, and after playing Fable 1 to death, I thought its time to resurect the old xbox, as far as I can see theres no patch for this so it can go back to the merchants and Ill go back to the PC, looks like 40 quids worth of crap to me

I heard that giving as much detail as possible would help the developers figure out the problem, so here is what happened to me. I was able to play until the quest with Hammer at the bandit coast before the game started freezing. Right after fighting the Highwayman for the first time I went into the menu to buy a new spell and a few seconds after exiting the menu I got a disc read error. So after restarting the game I noticed that the game froze at the white screen immediately after the Lionhead logo animation played. I had experienced a disc read error once before this final time and once I thought it took a longer than usual time to load the game right after the Lionhead logo when starting the game. When the game is frozen I am still able to use the guide menu to go back to the dashboard. I have tried clearing my cache, downloading the update again, playing offline without the update, and playing on different Gamertags. Every time the game freezes at the same spot after the Lionhead animation. Hopefully this will help coming up with a solution sooner.

i beat fable 2 already and before that i was having no problems. It seems like after i beat the game everything started to freeze. It freezes usually when im trying to got to another town or something. So i am like stuck in Bowerstone market killing everybody. Im getting really pissed cause i want to play this awesome game.....
