i have had fable 2 for 30 mins and the first time i play on it i get to the vendor and it freezes after hearing about mirror. i have deleted cache and it still doesnt work plz help

I found that if you download it to your hard drive, it eliminates most of the lag and loads a lot faster.

After playing for a week, Fable 2 is locking my console when I try to travel to the bowerstone market. I've tried all the recommended fixes including installing to hard drive and clearing the cache. I also tried playing without the patch but my save games won't load. I can travel to other areas.

Interestingly, I played some other parts of the game and solved some quests that had not been solved and the things that made my hang, went away!  I was able to finish the game.  This just smells like seriously bad quality control.

Apparently they cant replicate the problem so they just gave up... Guess that means everyone that has freezing problems is just screwed cause they wont let us return games for refunds just new games. And now there working on Fable 3?! WTF I mean you come out with a faulty game and now you think its so great your going to make another and steal our money again? I'm gonna write a letter to Bill Gates and see if he will sue them for me.

im not sure if anyone has had the same as me,

at any random point of any game, any hero, after 10- 30 mins of play my game will completely freeze!! i am unable to press any buttons, cant even go to dashboard. Im forced to restart game and start from previously saved point. was cooked is you never know when it will freeze so u hav to save constantly.

the funny thing is this occurred after many hours of perfect play, then happened frequently ever since. my friend gave my his cop to play which he had no problems with at all, and same thing happened!!

my xbox is new and was purchased in 2008!! and what is a cache?? how do i clean it??

I think we ALL should get a class action law suit against LionHead and force them to give us all a free copy of Fable 3, under the direct agreement that they fix ALL AND ANY bugs or we just split 100million.  See if they start taking things seriously.

I have the exact same problem as samthegumby, you are not alone.

Same issue too. After playing fine for 20 hours+ am at final scene (Retribution, Tatterred Spire) and my character just freezes (i.e. cannot move towards Theresa). Menu works. I can quit and restart chapter. Get to same point and character freezes again. Am playing from HDD. Have re-installed, cleared cache. Xbox live account okay. Xbox support advice to delete saved game. Great thanks!

I did get round my issue in the post above. As someone else had previously mentioned I went back and completed some more of the other quests and bingo no freezing at the final scene. What a relief!

I got Fable 2 back in... 2008. It worked like a charm until I updated the console with that new Xbox Live Experience. After that the game used to freeze all the time.

And ONLY Fable 2. No other game such as Gears of War 2 or FIFA 09 used to Freeze.

I tried the memory cache cleaning stuff and it didn't work either. Fable 2 continued to Freeze.

I had som morons at Microsoft tech support asking me to send my brand new Xbox 360 for repair but I was sure that the console wasn't the issue, and no way I would let a brand new console have its guts replaced with refurbished pieces.

By the way, the Fable 2 game disk was SPOTLESS, and I even traded it for another spotless one at the game store.

HOW I FIXED THIS ISSUE FOR : I only managed to sort out the problem when I installed the game in the xbox 360 hard drive. Since I installed the game, I never had another freezing issue.
