So here I am with the main quest finished for a second time, and one of my offspring decides to set off on a quest of her own in the Hobbe cave. So I rescue her and take her out of the cave, even putting her in follow mode even though she's following me... just to make sure she's there. Kill the Hobbes, get to the ladder wondering if she will actually be there at the top when the screen loads or if she will just return to our lair at Fairfax Mansion since I can't bring kids through the transition screens with me from Oakfield to Temple of Shadows. I am assuming that normally kids can't leave their home region.

New region loads. My daughter is nowhere to be found, but my wife is waiting for me in the barn. She is pissed already because of my bigamy. She tells me I am and murder is wrong. She kicks my dog and I want to slay her, but I don't, 'cause that's how I roll. I look all over but can't find poor daughter. Okay, so I think that my wife must be taking the place of my daughter because kids can't transition through regions. Put succubus wifey in follow mode, I follow the breadcrumbs, wife is in tow. Bandits attack. Wife is immune to my will spells, and that's 'cause I nuke everyone with a L5 Lightning. So far so .

We get about halfway to Bstone and it's raining bandits. They're everywhere, but not around my wife (whom I'm still thinking shouldn't be there). So I call up a L5 Vortex, and bandits are flying around like cows in Twister. I'm shotgunning them mid-air. Safety's on. Wifey's fine. Vortex is over. All bandits dead. My wife falls over dead. A message pops up that says my kids (Rachel and Damian, wherever you are, Daddy is but he still loves you) have been taken by CPS since my wife is dead. Which is screwed in the first place because we live in Fairfax and there are 30 trustworthy looking people running around outside at all times of the day and I'm making plenty of money to hire a nanny.

So after the (heart attack / airborne bandit collision / staged) death of my wife, I try to leave Rookridge and go back to Fairfax to get her insurance policy out of the safe or whatever, and it says that I cannot leave because I am on an active quest. Then I notice the breadcrumbs are leading behind me. I follow them back to the barn where the Hobbe Cave exited me originally. The cave door said press A to reload. Uhh... okay, cool. Maybe I can just replay this and get my wife back. Fast forward from the moment I first entered the Hobbe cave. Save little Rachel again. Up the ladder. No one. Just me and Chimera (my dog). Uhh... okay.

Go half a mile down the road and the breadcrumbs appear behind me. So I turn around and then back again to make sure it's not just the breadcrumbs messing with my head (as they seem to do all too often). Follow them back to the barn. Again. Try to leave the region. Denied. I have the reload option again.

Then I turn to my left and what do I see? Little Rachel standing silently with her face to the darkened corner of the barn. Jesus. She's just standing there like the guy in The Blair Witch Project. I can highlight her and do expressions but she says nothing. I think maybe if I stare at her long enough eventually she will swing around and say BOO and my xbox will explode or something. I tell her to follow and she doesn't. I walk all the way to the other end of the map and she doesn't budge, breadcrumbs lead me back to her. I do have the option to reload at the hatch on the barn, but sheesh.

So, I not only have a zombie daughter, I have possibly and probably lost my wife to a weak heart or something. And, I am on an active quest and can't leave the region. WTF? Anyone have any suggestions?



Also, I think it's total crap that I am completely to villagers, and entirely corrupt. Yet somehow giving gifts to my own kids and playing with them every now and then has reduced my gnarly horns to mere nubs. Come on, a couple thumb raises and a toy bow every now and then couldn't possibly atone for the hundreds... hundreds of innocents I have slaughtered and the apocalypse of my decision in the spire. That's nonsense. people can still be and love their kids... look at *** Cheney or Jim Jones, or Tom Cruise.
