Now the guards attack me and I can't complete the quest in Bowerstone! I have no option to pay the fine anymore, will the guards attack me forever? I've tried everything but nothing seems to work, just perpetual attacks.

Do I seriously have to start over because I hit the wrong button?

Exit the town, come back, and choose to do community service.

Leave town for two in-game days. When you come back time will have erased what was once wrong.

From what I've read it seems like people have tried that with no luck. I'll give it a shot though. I really don't want to have to start over. Do you think I can just sleep off the two days?

Just let them kill you then. You will respawn automatically and lose nothing but a few minutes. Then everything will be again.

Doesn't work. They kill me, I get back up, then they continue to kill me, I die again, more killing, more scars.........

I recently had this problem as well, but found that clearing all of the guards out of the region (kill 'em all) before new ones re-spawn worked. (When the new guards spawn, if the old ones are fighting, the new ones will join in, and won't let you pay the fine.)

Kill all of the guards quickly (this takes some strategic planning and adequate combat ability), then find a newly spawned guard and he should ask you to pay your fine.

This is because guards are programmed to help other guards in a fight, and not ask you to pay during a fight repeatedly. luck with the mass murder.

Well I'll give it a go I guess. It really sucks because I havent hardly gotten anywhere much yet, but it would take me 2-3 hours or so to start a new character. Oh well

Alright, its better now. I finally broke down and just started murdering guards. It honestly only took a few before I was give the options again. However, I still feel this is a major bug and an even larger annoyance. Shame on Lionhead for releasing a game in this condition.
