Ok so...  i got married early on in the game to some random woman as i was just messing about seeing the different features of the game and we had a kid. Then i went and did some quests, and the one where you become that ghosts vengeance and are supposed to break alex's heart or marry her, and my wife and kid who i had already married were living in bowerstone.. and i chose marry as i had two houses and wanted the bigamist achievement aswell lol.. but as soon as that happened one of the townsfolk said "your wife isn't looking too happy these days" and since that i can't find her ANYWHERE. now i thought it would sort itself out and she'd be there in the middle of bowerstone market trying to divorce me or something but she didn't so i went on the spire quest and came back and she was still missing? no trail or anything to lead me to her and it said she was in bowerstone market (which she isn't). So i carry on, kill lucien and i chose the family option as i wanted my dog back and i thought that alex and the other broad would be back and waiting. But to compeltely finish that quest you have to go speak to your family after, and i did speak to alex... but that didn't complete it so i went to bowerstone and my other wife is STILL not there arghhh!!  i've tried sleeping for like weeks in the house and shes not appeared, i tried looking in bloodstone cause someone said that happened to them and they found their wife there but no luck.

Anyone had a similar issue and knows what to do? (i have looked all over bowerstone.. fairfax old town cemetry etc but no luck)

I cant find my wife either.  My child is still there in fairfax gardens but no wife and I OWN the castle... I cant believe she would leave.  Although I do have two other wives in other towns I paid off the blackmail guy and got away with bigamy.  Now I am afraid to leave my little daughter there but I guess I must to do more missions. Sad.  Do the children ever get older than 9?  Also save after big things... I forgot to save and when my xbox froze up and I had to restart I was minus one child and still havent gotten her back.

On another site said if u slept in your maritial bed for 7 days she would come back but it didnt work for me. Sad thing is this is the wife I put in the castle... I want the castle for a wife that is THERE... not sure if its a glitch or part of the gameplay but there needs to be an answer from someone or its a glitch and the makers of the game need to fix it.

Dude, the same exact thing happened to me. It's really pissing me off and I can't complete the last campaign quest because I cannot return to my family. Hopefully there is a fix to this, or a patch is released soon. If anyone knows a solution, please post! Thanks!

In the same boat....my wife was in the Homestead Demon Door which is our marital house.  Took her on a date to the docks since thats what the broad likes, then she went and left my ass.  The kid won't even acknowledge me.  Sounds all too realistic.  FIX THIS LIONHEAD

Well nevermind then, I found the broad.  Somehow, after losing her (see my first post above) she turns up in a completely different region in the world....one I had never even been to, Bloodstone.  Saw her within the first two minutes of being there and I'm promptly returning her home right now.  Actually, one of the first things she did was give me the blackmail note.  Probably had it for a while since I've had 4 wives total.  I think the glitch is not that she completely disappears, but that she is transported (or wanders) somewhere else.  happy hunting.

OK...  So I beat the main quest and got there without any real problems, but a few have poped up now.  I didn't get a wife until I got back from the Spire the first time.  I married a "whore" from the improved Westcliff and moved her to Bowerstone Old Town where we had a son.  Things were fine till I finished the main quest.  I went back to see them after choosing the Family option,  they were still there and working fine.  After that I bought Fairfax Castle.  I needed a new wife, so I decided to marry Lady Grey, only because she is the only one of a kind woman in the game.  We had a little girl, but as soon as I left her the first time, she was never there again.  It keeps saying she's in the gardens, but the trail goes away as soon as I enter the area.  My search for her took me about two hours and I looked EVERYWHERE with no luck.  That's when I noticed the flashing message for The Rescue, "You have a family emergency, check you map."  In case they forgot, your wife dosen't show up on the map like in the first game.  So now both of my families are gone, I don't know what happened or how to get them back.  I waited four years for this game and I would have happily waited another month or two if it would have ment NO BUGS!  I'm going crazy!  I know their going to release a patch for some of the problems, but I haven't heard them adress the problem of the missing spouses, and judging from this post there are alot of us out there and this needs to be fixed, I just hope we don't have to wait till  Fable 2: The bug free chapters.

I went out to do something in Oakfield, then returned to my wife, gave her a diamond, did some expressions to my kid, then I went to Bloodstone. I purchased something like 3 houses and Reaver's Mansion (as I own about every other house in Bloodstone, so decided to get 'em all), then I went and swam about for a bit, got the gargoyle and silver key in the bay, then I looked at my Quest/Map screen, Family, then it said "Darling, come home immediately, I bear grim news about our daughter. Your faithful wife, Jo." or something of the like, so set Jo as my target, went to Bowerstone Market, went to the bar (she's a barmaid; she's usually there), she wasn't there, went to my house, she wasn't there, and there's no glowing trail... It says "You have a family emergency. Check your map" so I did, but there's nothing, and so I can't find my wife either, or my daughter...

I put lady grey back to gether, and made her love me long time, but, when i wanted to buy here a bi house, after she was tired of living in a crappy one, I moved there.. set it as maaridiale house, and suddenly I have 2 famely's with the same wife

Wile i was running and thereby pressing a A-button a lot, i had a messege wich i pressed away to soon to read, and now i have  family, but i cant find wife number 2, but the game says she should be there, i NEED her back!

Yep, got married with Alex  gave her a second ring (prompting the "engagement" message) and went to the Spire Quest. After returning she disappeared with my kid zombiefied.

Yeah I had a husband and kid before I went away for 10 years and when  I got home my kid is walking around the house alone and my husband is no where to be found. wtf?  What a for nothing husband/ dad heh!

 Anyways I have looked and looked and he is no where.

If anyone figures out whats up let us kow. luck all!

I too married Alex, and bought a house in Old Town. when i returned from the Spire, she was there, but then I killed Lucien and Chose the Family option, and she's not there!! So i select her from the family tab on the Pause menu, and when i select to travel to her, it puts me at the Cemetery Road in Old Town because apperently this is "The Closest Location to Her", But there is no gold line thing leading to her as usual, and she isnt at the house! any help?

Same thing here.  married lady grey.  she was the only one I married in the entire game.  beat the spire, chose family, came back.  Game says she is in old cemetery road (where our marriage house is).  Not there or anywhere in the city.  I AM PISSED!!

Yeah, i have the same problem.. as the person who was married at the homestead in the demon door...  it says my wife is there... she is not dead..and hasnt divorced me or anything... but its just the kid there..and i cant get him to leave the farm.. and i have also tried to trigger a scene where your wife gets pissed that you are sleeping with other women...nothing... but it keeps me from completing retribution..and love hurts quests only availible after completing the spire the last time... sorry about spoilers... but damn this is frustrationg.. i have tried everything i can think of...

You know, now that you mention it, I also gave a second ring to Alex, prompting the engangement screen as well, and soon afterwards, she disappeared.  We might be getting somewhere with this.  Now, everyone who posts, try to remember if you gave two engagement rings to your missing spouse and, I believe, most of our dissapearing spouses (spice?, sounds funny, had to throw it in there) live in bowerstone or old bowerstone.

Ditto.  Married "Alex", we live at Homestead, have a kid.  Retribution qwest says return to family.  Wife is missing.  She's happy, wants sex, but is missing.

Seems like a pretty major bug.  I'd love to go on playing, but won't bother until I know this is fixed.  What a bummer.

i am married to julie the gyspe and she disappered she was my first wife the other three have not my map says she at the house in bowerstone old town but she is not anywhere tobe found and i can not complet the quest return to your family i have no wives by the the name alex  i did give my first wife a second ring

I gave my 1st wife a 5* ring later in the game as well and she went missing after the spire with my son staring at the wall.  I didn't set a new marital home but she still had the golden ring over her head.

I think I may have given my missing wife a second ring too, I was trying to be nice to her.

My spouse lived in a nice house just off Bowerstone Market.

Where did you find your wife cause i'm trying to find my husband in bloodstone and i'm looking around and not able to find him. And did your wife have the ring symbol above her head.  i married the male alex and durriken from the gypsy's, alex divourced me then killed himself and now i can't find my first husband, but the whore man in bloodstone is quite a dish maybe he could be my new husband.

OK, so here is a run down of what has been happening:

 

All of us have a wife that has disappeared.  At first, it appeared that if you married a girl from bowerstown named ALEX she cause you to lose a wife or would disappear herself.  That, however, is not the case as some of you didn't marry Alex. 

Secondly, it seems that most of us live in Bowerstown or old Bowerstown or the Cementary (lady gray), which I would consider part of old Bowerstown.  So far, it seems this may have something to with it.  Let us all try to remember if we gave 2 wedding rings to our disappearing spouse, as I did the same thing as well before she disappeared. 

Has anyone's wife disappeared who didn't live in Bowerstown, say, they lived in Bloodstone or Westcliff?

 

I don't know what to do with this narrowing down of information, but it might help the developers find the solution with haste as we are the ones experiencing the problem and if we can provide as many details as we possible can remember, we might get a patch sooner rather than later and we can all go on enjoying the game.

In my case my character met his spouse in Westcliff (a hooker) and set a marital home in Oakview - the one to the left of the sculptor.

Everything was ok (and I only ever gave her one ring) but one day I forgot to stop her following me, and she followed me to Bowerstone - so I decided to return her home and used the map to return to Oakview. There I noticed her literally in the water. The follow expression didn't work on her (or come hither) because she was too far out, and when I tried to swim out to her she wouldn't follow and I couldn't carry out any expressions.

Now she's gone totally probably into the deep blue sea. Problem is that using the "family" option returns me there, still registers her existence - but she's nowhere to be seen, and I don't even get the golden crumbs. Like many others, I've also just returned from the Spire after killing Lucien.

Also found that even though I set the house budget to 0 I still get charged the previous amount!

I can´t find mine. And in the menu says she is happy in  every way. And I marreid Lady Grey. She is unreplaceble!

FOUND SOMETHING O GOOGLE, GUYS:

Simple as to sort this one out is to have another wife for a few weeks
You should then get a incoming message saying both your wifes have a gift. Go check it out and it should be a blackmail letter(NOTE:Make sure its the wife thats dissapeared thats the one you try to find otherwise you will never find her other than that) If you choose to pay the amount of money your wife you want doesnt find out you cheated on her other wise if you kill the guy you have to pay she will get a divorce with you. After you have done this quest you should be able to divorce the new wife you used just to get your old wife
and TAH DAH theres your wife bk. Hope it helps as this is probs the answer for most forums aswell i suggest you put it up in the forums while your going across them for the answer
