i have the same problem. I married lady grey and finished the game , and now shes disapeared  at Homestead Demon Door....

I'm having the same problem. With a slight variation. I married a gypsy from the camp and moved her into bowerstone. Bought a house, and moved her in. Then, sometime later, I purchased another home while she was following me and set it as the marital home. That's where the problem started. As another user stated earlier in this thread, I suddenly had 2 families and 2 wifes with the same name and 2 marital homes. What the heck? Not knowing what to do, I set the daily allowance to 0 thinking it would make her want to devorce me and it would fix the problem. Well, apparently that was the wrong thing to do, because she starved to death and child protective services took my kid. Ok, this fixed half of the problem as one of the houses was released. However, I still have my original marital home locked up to a wife that is dead and gone. It shows her name in the family section, and will even let me set her as my current target and takes me to bowerstone town square as that is the "Closest" location to her supposedly. I don't get a trail to follow to her though and cannot find her anywhere. If she even exists that is. I haven't tried to see if she is back in the gypsy camp yet. I'll try that later and post if I find a solution.

YES ! This is what happened to me guyz.

Ok I finished the game and Decided Wealth for 1 mill gold. (poor doggy !) Anywayz i went and bought castle fairfax and got a wife and had a child.


I decided to go off on a quest until the child grew up but when i got back the baby was still there but the mother was no where to be seen. I searched the castle far and wide and i still cant find her.

I decided to go on a quest to see if she came back..... But while i was doing the quest i got one of those family emergency things that said my daughter was in a dangerous cave.

I went straight back home to go find the cave but the info said i needed to speak to my wife.....      Anyway i really am thinking of doing the same thing i did to my other wife that dissapeared when i got back from the spire:

Putting the budget to 0

Last time i did this i met her in town square and she took the child and ran !


Oh and one last thing. I have had 3 families and 3 children and they have all been girlz.
Is that thing true where you have sex at dawn and you have a boy but at day you have a girl. ????

well i married some chick name kate who was living in bowerstone market married her and lived in old town had a son left to do spire she was there after i killed lucian she vanish our son still there saying shes unhappy it says shes near the cemetary but she isnt if loinhead made a game thats gonna glitch out alot then they need to make a patch or something to fix it unless we all have to restart which will be a PAIN IN THE ASS

I rekon. But I have heard of the problem where peoples wives are in the cemetary...... and i have also heard that all of those people have never seen their wives again...... But i thought it was mainly Lady Grey who did that....

*sigh* Fable II is a game in all but these annoying bugs and glitches are annoying

Well I'll be quick and honest. I loved this game, until I encountered my first glitch and learned of its magnitude online. I got the disappearing wife glitch and am going to attempt a few solutions but if they fail I honestly will not play this game anymore until a patch comes out fixing it now that I know the volume of problems this game has. I don't want to progress or attempt to progress only to have to start over.

When I was buying this game (a used copy) I was wondering how anyone could possibly return this game. Now I know. Fable 1 was absolutely stunning, and I thought Fable 2 was going to be even better; instead it has fallen well bellow expectations. Not because of the game itself but simple its coding (bug/glitch) problems and thinking I may end up returning this game as well. ">

It great that lionhead was able to put out a patch and fix some problems, great (pat on the back for them) BUT they are NOT done. Which they even said so themselves in that blog post. Why has there been no mention of any new patches especially this large spouse patch.">

Same problem: Married Lady Gray, moved her into Brightwood Tower and had a girl (sex during day = girl, sex at night = boy).  Completed story, chose love.  Girl follows me everywhere in Brightwood and acts just like always (no zombie daughter here) - Lady Gray is nowhere to be found.

Dog didn't even appear until I went to Bower Lake.

A fix would be nice since I'd really like to be able to complete the Retribution Quest

 

Of course, I really only chose Love because your game is pretty much screwed for completing the archaeologist line or finding any other post-story buried items without him.  So would be nice to be able to get a new dog after choosing one of the other endings too.

Okay. So for you gamers that have actually found your sister again in the Retribution quest? How the hell do I find her after having that quest just disappear off of my quest list?

Where is my family located so I can just go there and hope that I'll actually be reunited?

Oh and by the way. I married three girls and I'm a bigamist husband to them all. lol

i have the glitch where the expression statue is inaccessible and it has no face with its arms spread in a T shape.

WHY WONT LIONHEAD MAKE A PATCH TO FIX ALL OF THIS!

lionhead should devote a forum for glitches that they promise to fix!

I fixed my disappearing husband glitch!  Maybe it'll work for you. ;D

Okay, so my husband disappeared on me and I couldn't find him anywhere, even the bread crumbs couldn't find him.

So this is what I did:

I installed Fable 2 to my hard drive on my xbox 360, you can find out how to do that here: YA - Installing xbox games to hard drive

Then after that was done,I got back into the game and he was still gone

But then I went on a quest that lead me into a dungeon.  The light wellspring or something like that.  It's around the light temple somewhere. (Sorry I can't give more information on that, but I'm sure most of you know where it is) The quest was to save The Temple of Light. Which leads you down into the dungeon to kill some guy.

Anyway, so after that quest I had to go back to Bowerstone Market. (where we live) and there he was in the town center! My husband is back! He had like 3 gifts to give me too since I hadn't seen him for awhile. Lol.

But anyway, if any of you are having this problem then this might be a way to fix it, even if you don't have the quest, you could still try going into the dungeon.

I had a Wife with huge Jugs, (not metioning where I got cuz then everyone will have one) moved to fairfax, had a Son, and I spent around 30000 gold on gifts for him. I was to busy giving him stuff to realise my wife had disappeared. So while I was getting a ton side points for giving my son stuff (to get rid of those freekin annoying horns!) I had a look at some quests, and Civilian Displacement was up. So ofcourse I went on it, and when I finished it, I had a new quest! 'The Rescue.' I read the description, and ofcourse went on it, and when I was in fairfax gardens no gold line! I searched practicly everywhere in the castle in kitchen, bedroom, libary, study. Nowhere! I have a suspicion she is behind a pair of gates I cant open, or Inside the purply demon door thing (have opened all Demon Doors) but as I was sleeping in my regal bed, I noticed a pair of legs hanging from the celing. I turned safety of and shot them, and heard my wife scream, but I couldn't kill her! So i'm practicly screwed, and I can't sleep in the bed there, cuz a hobo is in my house, and I can't get rid of him! He gives me a quest whenever I go near him, something a bout the crucible. And he's right infront of my bed! So, any sugestions on how the hell I get rid of the Hobo, or get my wife out the bloody ceiling!???

I have a wife in Fable 2, Lady Grey, and I have a child. My child grew into a boy and tried to become an adventurer like me. Therefore he got lost in the hobbe cave and I saved him. My wife showed up and thanked me and took my son Jack back to our Castle, Castle Fairfax. I realized my wife "wanted s**" so I went to please her, lol, but when I "teleported" to the throne room I end up walking outside my castle and walking to the east near the tiny box like building and I can only see my son and not my wife. Where the heck is my wife. I've tried different things such as sleeping in my marital bed for 7 days and stuff but nuthing seems to work. Could I get some help please? this is very frustrating.

My son also makes statements such as "you're home!" and stuff, but he isnt even at home he is outside all the time in the same spot which makes absolutely no sense to me.

I came back to see if the missing spouse problem had been fixed or if there was a workaround yet, as it's been months since I last touched this game.  I'm really disappointed to see that there's not.  This stopped me and so many others from being able to complete the main game and the only answer is to start another game or never turn in that quest.  Ugh.

I have the same problem and it's pissing me off extremely.

ok look this missing wife and or second kid is a huge problem for me! i have beaten the game about 5 or 6 times, the first 2 times i beat it i was useing my brothers xbox and game that was conecting to live and had no problems (mainly becouse i stayed away from the homestead house i oakfield and wasnt stupid enouph to give my wife a second ring) i married a barmaid (that i called Yvain) in oakfield and chose the house conected to the sculpter all three times had a boy (wich i named todd jr, after me) and keped him and my wife happy.. then after the spire quest came home to meat my little pirate son and his barmaid mother.. i had a daughter (wich i named freyja after the norse goddess of fertility) and every thing went as it was supose to, i beat the game and moved my family into castle fairfax and had another son (wich i named beowulf) and every thing was just fine bolth times i beat the game...

        then my brother moved and took his xbox with him, so i bougt my own xbox and my own coppy of fable 2 this is were i started having problems on my new profile (not on xbox live)  i wanted to beat the game much like i did before becouse it was an awsome storyline that way, so i played up untill i got to oakfield, then i found a gypsy from bower lake (i named her Yvain agan) and married her in the same house next to the sculpter in oakfield ( i wanted to marry the sculpter but it wouldnt let me) and had a daughter ( freyja ) wich i was happy with so i went on to recrute hammer the hero of stength and went to the spire for ten years, and when i came back little freyja was grown so i knocked up my wife Yvain agan and she poped out a son (todd jr) and i was happy and went on some more quests, when i came back to oakfield to check on my family ( befor going to bloodstone) i was suprised to find that my son was black and that was ok i just had to change his name to Freyr (after the norse god), so i went to bloodstone to find reaver and beat the main quest.. this is were the glitch comes in, i came back to oakfield after choosing love and my wife was gone and only my two kids were at the house happy to see me and jumping for joy.. so i reloaded and tried it agan but when i came back only little freyja was there and i couldnt complete the retribution quest so i was pissed as hel.. and started a new game this time i chose a barmaid from oakfield to be yvain and moved into the same house and had a son, when i came back after the spire for the reunion my son was even darker skinned than the the son i had on the previose profile so i knocked my wife up agan and had a daughter.. so i went on to beat the game agan and this time was able to find my wife and my black son but my daughter freyja was gone, so i did the rescue mission and got my son home safe. so then i had another daughter to try and remake freyja and was successfull, atlest wile she was a baby. i came back  to find that she was a kid and still at my house with my black son and wife but there was no blue pacifier over her head and apairently wasnt my daughter any more, so i reloded and came back to my house and freyja wasnt only not my daughter but had completly disapeared.. then i figued the house i was living in couldnt suport 2 kids, so i moved to bowerstone old town in the house of hard knocks and tried to remake freyja and did so, but i left to buy a cupple houses to rent out. and when i came back to the house of hard knocks my wife and son were there but freyja was still in her crib once agan with out a blue pacifier over her head and it said in the pause menu that she wasnt my daughter.. but she was still in the the crib at my house, this confused me to no end. so i reloaded and retured to the house of hard knocks this time not only was freyja and her crib gone but my wife had vanished as well, so i went on the internet and looked for some "fixes" to my problem and found a bunch. i tried all of them and nothing worked.. now at this point i was about mad enouph to stragle a baby seal with my bare hands. and i didnt touch the game for about a month

then one day i was having fable withdralls and started a new game, being extreamly careful as to avoid this glitch.. i married a barmaid from oakfeild ( i wanted a gypsy but i read somewere that gypsys almost always disapear) moved in to the same sculpter house and had a son, i came back from the spire and my wife and son were still there ( but my son was black agan wich didnt bother me, but did confuse me) so i went on to beat the game and did the rescue mission with no problems, so i moved my family to castle fairfax and had a daughter wich later disapeared agan so i quickly moved my family to reavers old house in bloodstone before my wife disapeared and i couldnt use castle fairfax as the home for my next family, so i moved to bloodstone and soon after as i had anticipated my wife vanished leaving my black son in the giant house all by himself, wich was my plan.. becouse i figure that u cant move your family to another region than she lived before she met you or she will disapear, so what i did is i went to fairfax garden and married a rich aristocratic chick and set castle fairfax as our home had a son (who was white so i named him little sparrow) and after he was grown had a daughter (who i named freyja once agan).. i left to buy some houses to rent out then came back to castle fairfax and my son and daughter were fine but freyja was once agan missing.. so determined to beat this STUPID GLITCH i knocked my prissy wife up agan and remade freyja but this time before i left the castle i showered freyja with expencive gifts and did a bunch of expreshoins for her, i also slept in the regal bed for a week, after that i left to buy some more property ( im trying to become the king). and when i came back i expected my family to be plagued by this famouse glitch, i found my family intact and little freyja were i left her in here little crib so i saved and quit then went online to post this long ass bullitin.. so after im done writing this i'll go load my last game and see if my family is still there (i hope to Odin they are, if not i'm gana blow a mager fuse.. and send a complaint strait to lion head)...

 so final samation, to avoid this problem dont move your family to a region that your wife/husband didnt grow up... or connect to xbox live and start a new character doing the same things u did in your last game when you werent on live to see if it fixes the glitch completely i hope this helps some of you who are as frusterated about this glitch as me, i have as you can see done alot of research in to this glitch and these are the best solutions i'v found

All right. I've had 2 /pure playthroughs, and I married with alex in both of them. She dissapeared with my wife in both save games. So, next time, sacrifice some points because this woman, she is a ***.
Then, i've had a family emergency, and, lol, my kid was standing in my front! And, my wife glitched, and i thinked a WTF. I now have a new life at reavers mansion in bloodstone being a being
