Yeah, sorry it's taken me so long to get back on.

To clarify the problem I had/am having, The first time I created a hero I went to the chest and got my rewards without any problems. That hero subsequently got glitched so I started a new hero, but when I got to the chest it told me to go to Fable2.com.

Since then I managed to access the LE content I've been waiting for by downloading an English Language DLC - don't ask - so I decided to delete my exisitng heroes and start fresh. The first new hero I made got the ALL the items form the chest, LE and Fable2.com. The second and third only got the LE.

Yesterday, I deleted new heroes 2 and 3 and made another new hero and this time I got everything again!

I'm always connected to Live, so I don't know what is causing this. One thing I have noticed is that I can tell when I'm not going to get the Fable2.com items, because the game autosaves after I get the last of my LE content. If the game doesn't autosave at that point I get the Fable2.com content no problem.

Don't know if you can shed and light on any of that but it's got my head done-in trying to figure it out.

From what I tested, it seems like we can't get any item from that chest anymore once we opened it for some purpose. I've tried it with one Hero, I signed-out from LIVE (stay offline) and opened the chest, and after obtained the Bonus Content without the reward I sign-in to LIVE. After connected to LIVE (online) I tried to open the chest and the game said that I should go to fable2.com to find out things left by some heroic ancestor. So I can conclude this trick is failed.

Then I started another new game with a new Hero and at the same point where I signed-out (get offline), I saved the game and quit to Xbox Dashboard, then play the game again. I load the save I mentioned before, sign-in to LIVE (online) and try to open the chest. Despite the fact that the chest was closed, the game said the same thing, as I should go to fable2.com to find out about some heroic ancestor.

I started another new game with a new Hero, get to the same point where I signed-out from LIVE (to stay offline) and before I open the chest, I made a save. I quit to menu (still in the game, not to Dashboard), load that save, and open the chest after I get online. Still, I got the same result: the game said the same thing about going to fable2.com and I failed to get any reward from it, even while stay online.

So far I can say that in order to get those rewards (along with Bonus Content, if you have any) you have to start a new game.

Or if you prefer, you can ask your friends over LIVE to give you the item you mentioned and see if you can obtain any reward this way, though I never tested this trick and I don't know if we can actually have those rewards from Gift expression. I can't confirm if those rewards are obtainable via Gift. Also I heard rumors about we can give items to any character in local co-op (not online) with the unpatched Fable II (some kind of glitch the game has prior to update) but as they're just rumors I can't confirm it. But still, they're worth to try.

I'm sorry, but I'll post anything about it as soon as possible after I try/test it first. Please reply if you want me to test anything else about these rewards.

First, let me clarify that you don't have to be a Gold LIVE account holder, so even with your Silver one you still able to have those rewards.

In order to get the rewards from A Hero's Tales (assuming you've won and redeemed any), you have to stay online when you open the chest. Whether you're online or not at the time you start the game doesn't have any part to your success. Just make sure before you open the chest, you've already connected to LIVE and stay online, then open the chest. The reward(s) will then be automatically "downloaded" to your current Hero slot. Once you get the reward(s) you are free to decide if you want to stay online or go offline, since the reward(s) [once you obtained any in your inventory] will always be "there" even if you're offline. Even better, you can purchase the reward(s) from certain merchants/stores. For example, once you got Apocalyptic Pink dye, you can purchase the same dye at the Bowerstone stylist.

The game only autosaves after you get ALL items from that chest (suffice to say, after you "empty" the chest), so in your case the game autosaved because you already got your Bonus Content without any of your reward(s). Don't be afraid, that autosave didn't prevent you to get your reward(s).

Try to start a new game with a new Hero. I know it's annoying and tiring, but so far we don't have any choice, thanks to Lionhead.

Go to the point where the chest is, but before you open it please make a save. Then open your Status blade by pressing the Xbox Guide button and see if you're connected to LIVE or not. Please make sure you have your status stated as "online", because from what I found with my colleagues' Xbox 360, some of them thought they were online (connected to LIVE) but they weren't. The internet connection is active and online (the reason why they thought they were online), but they profile weren't connected, maybe because their Xbox 360 didn't automatically connect them to LIVE. So please make sure you're online first, then you can open the chest. I'm sure you'll have your reward(s) after you obtained all Bonus Content available to you, since I tested this many times and I can clarify it works. Remember, make sure you're online first before you open the chest

I'm sorry for being troublesome, but please try it and reply anything if you still have any problem. I'll help anything I can.

To LCD_Dave and anyone else,

Forgot to say, I suggested you create a save before opening the chest because I think in case you have something wrong with your Xbox 360 (RRoD, error, can't connect to internet and any similar issue) you can safely turn off your Xbox 360, restart it, or fix anything, then you can simply load that save to instantly bring you to the location of the chest.

Please take a note that this save I suggested doesn't guarantee that you'll have the reward(s). As I always try to remind you, please get connected to LIVE and stay online first before you open the chest. Whether you want to stay online or not after you obtain the reward(s) is up yours.

Please reply if you have any issue regarding Bonus Content and web rewards.

This evening my girlfriend came back from Osaka, and we both spending a nice night here in Tokyo playing Fable II all night long... for some reason. Remember when I told you about how my girlfriend's missing her A Hero's Tales rewards, due to the fact she forgot to stay connected to LIVE (stay online) when she opened that infamous treasure chest in Chamber of Fate? Well, during our "discovery" this evening I found something really interesting... accidentally. And should be considered interesting too if you're missing your valuable rewards from A Hero's Tales. Here are what I found:


※ Way To Obtain Your Redeemed Rewards

This trick is useful if you've already opened the chest before to obtain the Bonus Content, but haven't redeem any reward from A Hero's Tales yet, or have redeemed your rewards, but accidentally forgot to stay online when you opened that chest (just like my girlfriend).


※ Things Should Be Considered Important

- Make sure you're connected to LIVE and stay online. You don't have to be signed-in since the first time you play Fable II (e.g. from the menu), but make sure you're online especially when you're going to re-use the chest (since we can consider it has already been opened before).

- Have all the rewards redeemed for your game profile. You might only fancy one item or two, but I suggest you redeem all rewards available in A Hero's Tales. Note that this trick doesn't require you to redeem all rewards first, just make sure you've already redeemed the reward(s) you want.


※ How To Obtain Your Reward(s) In-Game

- Using your Hero whom already opened the chest, go to Heroes' Guild, then go to the Chamber of Fate where the open chest is.

- Stand near the chest, you should notice there's a way to interact with the chest. You should see "Search" when the chest is glowing green.

- Before you press the A button to use "Search" on that open chest, - again - make sure you're online and stay that way. Check your online status by pressing the Xbox Guide button to show your Status Blade on screen and see if you're online. If yes, then go back to game. If no, try to connect to LIVE first and make sure you're successfully connected to LIVE (online).

- With your profile already connected to LIVE (online), press the A button to use "Search" on the open chest. You will not see anything, not even any confirmation similar to one you saw when you obtained your Bonus Content, not even any autosave. If you doubt you have used "Search" on the chest, you might want to tap A several times, if you really want to be sure you do it right.

- After you press the A button and search the open chest, go to Bowerstone Market. Please note that you can also go to any region you like, but for now let's just pick Bowerstone Market, since it's the nearest region to Heroes' Guild and provides decent varities of stores, including Tailor and Stylist.

- In Bowerstone Market, go to the Stylist. Assuming the store is open (you arrive at noon or before the closing hour) and you've already redeemed Apocalyptic Pink Dye (this is why I suggest you to redeem all rewards available, since the dye is the easiest sample we're going to use in this trick), enter the store and approach the storekeeper (the stylist herself), then interact with her to open her stock list. Browse her stock list to the very end, and you should see Apocalyptic Pink Dye, which is exactly one of the rewards, and now available to purchase. That's going to be a proof that you've already obtained your rewards in your game. From this point on, whether you want to stay online or go offline instead is up yours.

- For the Chicken Suit (assuming you've already redeemed it), you can check the Gents Tailor. Again, assuming the store is open, enter the store and approach the storekeeper, interact with him/her to open his/her stock list and browse the stock list to see the Chicken Suit pieces are sold separately (headgear, coat, feet).


※ Things You Should Know

- Although I didn't mention anything about Lionhead Tattoos, Feign Attack Expression Book and the infamous Hero Doll, those rewards can be obtained/purchased the same way Apocalyptic Pink Dye and Chicken Suit do, assuming you've already redeemed those rewards. Check the Tattooist, Book Store (in Bowerstone Market and Bloodstone) and any Gift Shop/Merchant or Jeweller.

- This trick will or will not work if you haven't opened the chest before. If you happened to have the chest intact (never been opened) you can simply get connected and stay online and then open the chest to obtain your reward(s).

- Once you obtained the reward(s), there is no need to stay online everytime you play Fable II. As long as you already obtained the reward(s), they will always be "there" in your current game.

- The rewards are only available to one Hero at a time, means if you have two Heroes who are missing the rewards but already opened the chest, you have to do the trick once with each Hero. You can't expect the rewards will be available for your other Heroes just because you have those rewards "automatically downloaded" into one of your Heroes.

This trick has been tested thoroughly and confirmed to be worked, and I just made my girlfriend happy because of it. In case you fail the trick, have any doubt and/or question regarding the rewards, please leave a reply or two for me.

If you save your game in the chamber of fate, the chest will close. But you will still not be able to open it. You will have to leave the chamber of fate (possibly restart your console) and then when you return, it will be openable again.
This worked for me at least, hope it'll do you guys any .

Also, what is one to do if they've already finished the flash site games and gotten the rewards, but when they start up Fable 2, the chest STILL says to go to the web site?  This is assuming the chest has NEVER been opened by the hero on the file, and the player is logged in to Xbox Live with the same account used to acquire the bonus web content.  I'm not having this problem, but I've seen a few people on the forums who have, and I thought maybe someone could shed some light on the issue.

i got the limited edition content no problem (the wreckager, hals sword, hals armour) but i cant figure out how to get the lionhead tattoo and hero doll bonuses from the website can anyone help? or is it in the chest where the limited edition content came from so you can only have one or the other?

According to Sam the Lionhead CommMaster (the nice one who give you free Pub Games codes), the chest is the only place where you can obtain both your Limited Collector's Edition Bonus Contents (assuming you've downloaded it) and your The Hero's Tales rewards (assuming you've won any). Once the chest opened - either because you obtain the Bonus Content or your reward - you will never be able to re-open it again. E.G. if you opened the chest to get your Bonus Content (prior to win any The Hero's Tales reward), once you get your The Hero's Tales rewards you're not going to be able to obtain them in the same way you obtained your Bonus Content, and vice versa. 2. The only way to obtain both downloaded Bonus Content and your redeemed web rewards from The Hero's Tales (for now) is to start a new game with new Hero. Also you have to make sure you have both Bonus Content and your web rewards downloaded first (unlike the Bonus Content, your web rewards are automatically downloaded if you start the game - loading the game, not literally start a new game with new Hero - while still connected to LIVE with your game profile) before you start a new game. 3. You can get the Bonus Content by redeeming the code the game provides you one (assuming you have one) in the Bonus Content Card. - I went to Bowerstone Market (quest related travel, to meet Theresa for the first time after I killed Thag), did these and those, and then returned back to Chamber of Fate and found the chest was still opened.

- Read my post when I helped my girlfriend to obtain her rewards? I did the same thing in this point. I stood near the chest, connected my profile to LIVE and pressed the A button on the chest (use "Search" on it). At that time, I didn't see any pop up message saying something like I should go to fable2.com to find out about heroic ancestor. So I thought I was succeed.

- And indeed, I was succeed. I went to Bowerstone Market, visited the stylist to browse her stock list and there was it, the infamous Apocalyptic Pink Dye, sold for thousands of gold.

So I can conclude that whether the chest is in opened or closed condition, you should be able to obtain your own reward(s) by using the chest again as long as you remember to have "these":

- Get connected to LIVE and stay connected while you open the chest. Believe me, it's very very important.

- After opening the chest, go to Bowerstone Market (nearest, easiest) and check the Stylist stock for Apocalyptic Pink Dye, Male Tailor or Gents Tailor for the Chicken Suit, Bowerstone Bookstore for the Feign Attack Expression Book, Gipsy Camp Tattooist or other Tattoist for Lionhead Tattoos (both face and body tattoo) and Gift Trader or Jeweller for the Hero Doll.

Heres what i did.. I started playing the game before i knew anything about the online items i open the chest to get the DLC ONLY. Not knowing you could get items from the online flash game. Now i went and did the online game went back to the chest did the search thing as you said. went to town looked at all the shops like you said found them all but the Feign Attack Expression Book  this was not in the Bowerstone Bookstore and i have yet to see it in there.

Made a new Hero 2 got all the way to the Guild Cave open the chest and it give me the DLC again (Only) and it didn't give me the Website items.

Now i deleted the Hero 1 and Hero 2 save slots and started a new game and got to the chest again and all the items was there DLC and Website items.

(What gives do i......
A) Restart game and do all the things over again as in all questing etc.etc.
B) Keep playing with 1st game with out the book of Feign Attack Expression Book in hope that the book "Might" show up.
C) Go crazy and wait for a patch?

Now i went and did the online game went back to the chest did the search thing as you said. went to town looked at all the shops like you said found them all but the Feign Attack Expression Book  this was not in the Bowerstone Bookstore and i have yet to see it in there.

Made a new Hero 2 got all the way to the Guild Cave open the chest and it give me the DLC again (Only) and it didn't give me the Website items.

Now i deleted the Hero 1 and Hero 2 save slots and started a new game and got to the chest again and all the items was there DLC and Website items.

(What gives do i......
A) Restart game and do all the things over again as in all questing etc.etc.
B) Keep playing with 1st game with out the book of Feign Attack Expression Book in hope that the book "Might" show up.
C) Go crazy and wait for a patch?

During my tests, I found out that the Feign Attack Expression Book are randomly appeared in Bowerstone Bookstore. With one Hero, I found the book in Bowerstone Bookstore, but since I thought the book will stay there and I can buy it later, I continued my quest. Later when I came back to the bookstore, I found that the book was missing. The book, however, appeared again in the same store after I completed the game and returned back to the bookstore to see if the book's there. It was, and I bought it.

Next I tried it with different Hero, but unlike the first one I explained before, right after I touched the chest, went outside to Bowerstone Market and to the bookstore, the Feign Attack Expression Book was there, so I bought it right away.

From what I've seen and experienced so far, I can conclude that, unlike the Apocalyptic Pink Dye and Chicken Suit, which can be found easily in their stores (Stylist/Travelling Clothing Trader and Jeweller/Gift Store/Travelling Gift Trader, respectively), the Feign Attack Expression Book is more like an item randomly appeared in its respective store. Here are the persons who can sell you that book (though the chance is random):

※ Bowerstone Bookstore, assuming the store is open.

※ Travelling Books Trader, whom appeared randomly in Albion's regions.

Your best chance (according to my tests) is probably with the latter. I suppose Travelling Books Trader can be found wandering the roads in Rookridge. Try to explore Rookridge from Bowerstone Road up to Oakfield Road. If you're lucky, you should find more than you're looking for, since I also found the Backflip Expression Book for my dog, which I suppose to be one of Fable II Pub Games rewards though I rarely played Pub Games before, among the Feign Attack Expression Book.

So I can say that you should take option B, only that you can't just hope, you have to try to find it. If I can, then I believe everyone out there can too. Remember, even the Hero Doll can be found missing from Jeweller's or Gift Trader stocks sometime.

Also you might want to start a new game with a new Hero. This might be troublesome, since I read many posts said that to restart the childhood of your Hero again is somewhat irritating. But this is the easiest method to get your reward(s) without have to browse stores for their stocks list. Please refer to my previous post about how you can obtain your reward(s) if you start from the beginning. After all, whatever you please to do (continue your current game or start a new one) is up yours.

I though I'd come up with a great work around and made new live account, ran through the game, got the chest and then went to where I'd left my hero from my other game. That's when I realised friend orbs only appear for on line friends... Gah, I'll just have to wait until one of my friends is online and use them to transfer it for me.

I figured something out: for those who opened the chest to pick their web-dlc and got their LE-Download Codes late, you can still open the chest a second time.
Just disconnect from Xbox-Live, as simple as that. Worked for me....

Indeed it was working during my playtest a couple weeks ago, and I can confirm that. If you were connected to LIVE when you opened the chest to obtain your Bonus Content and A Hero's Tales rewards with your one Hero, your next Hero should be able to obtain the same items from the same chest without even have to stay connected to LIVE. But the next Hero after that will have to get connected to LIVE in order to be able to obtain the rewards. Again, I cannot guarantee if this issue is working for all of us, but in my playtest I can assure you it's working for me.

Try this if you like. If you fail, then read my posts before this one about how to get your rewards after you opened the chest.

So what this thread is telling me is, because I pre-ordered and was excited to play on day one, my initial three characters, which I put a lot of love and effort into, which I thoroughly enjoyed playing and which I really wanted to have access to the bonus content...can't ever have access to that bonus content? Just because LH screwed up at launch, their consumer has to suffer? I was fine with waiting for the content, because I assumed that it would be available to all my characters when it came out. I'm not going to replicate the exact same playthroughs and delete my originals just for this content, so I'm pissed that my original three characters cannot receive the bonus content I was entitled to from day one. WTF Lionhead. Seriously, release an update so you can re-open the chest. Is it so gamebreaking if you get the same content twice? I think two openings is fine. Just code it so you can open it twice, yeah you'll get the Lionhead tattoos and the book with the expression twice, but does it matter?

Seriously, get on this.
