Just came back from Okinawa this morning, and I found many posts regarding
Bonus Content not working in-game...
From what I've seen (from my friends and colleagues), all people who have
Bonus Content card inside their copies of
Fable II Limited Collector's Edition don't have any problem regarding the
Bonus Content (e.g. missing, can't be obtained in-game), while people who happened to have their copies of
Fable II Limited Collector's Edition missing its
Bonus Content card (ones that received the redeem code from e-mail) mostly are having problem obtaining the content in-game, while few others can obtain the content with no problem.
In this case, I don't have any problem with the
Bonus Content, and here are my specification:
- Xbox 360 Pro 20GB, Xbox 360 Elite 120GB and Xbox 360 Pro 60GB, all are NTSC-J Japan (only for references, since console's region might or might not supposed to be have no effect regarding contents).
- 1 (one) copy of
Fable II Limited Collector's Edition,
US/America version, shipped with both
Bonus Content card and
48-Hour Xbox LIVE Gold Trial card, stated as having no region protection (playable even with local Japan Xbox 360).
- Redeemed
Bonus Content code, found on the card.
As I stated before, I didn't have any problem and/or issue of obtaining the
Bonus Content for all my Heroes.
Then here are the specification of one of my close friends who is having problem regarding
Bonus Content (only obtainable to some of her Heroes):
- Xbox 360 Elite 120GB NTSC-U/C.
- 1(one) copy of
Fable II Limited Collector's Edition,
US/America version, shipped with
48-Hour Xbox LIVE Gold Trial card but missing its
Bonus Content card.
- Redeemed
Bonus Content code, received from
Microsoft via e-mail.
Some of her Heroes are able to open the chest and obtain the content (2 of 6 Heroes) while the rest received the message about fable2.com and failed to open the chest. I don't know if it's the content, the game, or anything else, but surely there's something wrong...
As for what
krzy06gsxr600 posted before, I can confirm that it's working. Please take a note that it's working for people who don't redeem any
A Hero's Tales rewards, or at least that's what I saw from my colleagues who don't play
A Hero's Tales but cannot open the chest even with the
Bonus Content downloaded and saved to their harddrive.
If you're online, don't play
A Hero's Tales (don't redeem any reward) and cannot open the chest to obtain the
Bonus Content you've downloaded, please do these:
- Turn off your internet modem or simply plug off the internet cable (you can't log off from LIVE unless you log off your profile).
- While not connecting to LIVE, open the chest to obtain the
Bonus Content.
The reason why you can't open the chest while you're connected to LIVE is probably because the game detected your status (online) and try to connect to LIVE server to check your rewards (and download any). Since you don't have any reward redeemed (even if you've won any), the game probably lock the chest (because it probably thinks that there is nothing to be obtained in the chest) and you're unable to obtain the
Bonus Content.
This doesn't happen to me, but did happen to some of my colleagues, and that trick is working for them.
