Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

My family/spouse was fine up until and after the Spire.  My problem is that I was giving the family some gifts after my return and decided to give Ker the Gypsy a ring (second one).  This caused me to be "engaged" (which he then accused me of cheating on him with...himself?), so I had to find a marital home.  I did so, and it duplicated the husband.  I noticed afterward that my daughter just stood around in the middle of Bowerstone, unresponsive.  Thinking I could kill the "duplicate" husband and fix it, I got him killed by some bandits.  Didn't work, the game considered him my first husband, and they took my daughter away.  The duplicate hubby is still listed in my family and is still getting money from me even though I sold my second marital home and turned my original marital home's budget to zero.

SECOND RING IS DEFINITELY A BAD IDEA

Unfortunately my computer died so I couldn't find out that it was a bad idea until after it happened (I can only go on the internet at work), and now I know that it is a game-breaking glitch.  I was probably going to start over anyway, 1) because I was really enjoying my family and it just doesn't feel the same without them, and 2) because I'm now doing the E v i l [Evil] in Wraithmarsh quest, am on the last part where I have to kill the banshee, and yet I cannot do any damage to her whatsoever.  Yes, I kill the offspring first, but once I do so I still can't hit her, shoot her, use Will, nothing.  A second game-breaking glitch.  Please please please release a free DL patch or something for this Lionhead!  The family is a main aspect of the game that I thoroughly enjoy, and it is really unfortunate when something like this happens! Sad [:(]

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

Unfortunately I had to start over and create a new character.  I'm not too terribly bothered by it, since I was going to just start over someday anyway.  I'm being as careful as possible and saving often (though the autosave feature kind of defeats the purpose sometimes), listening to every conversation/quest until the very end, etc.

However, I encountered another glitch early on with my new character.  I married the blacksmith in Bowerstone, went to the house, it said he wanted sex.  Took him there, highlighted the bed, but it wouldn't let me sleep with him, it only gave me the option to sleep.  I kept moving to other areas around the bed and finally it seemed to work, I had the option of protected or unprotected.  It acted like it was going to work but instead it just gave me regular sleep bonuses and he still wanted sex.  So it gave me the option and everything, but no black screen and no result (and the repeated attempts reduced my attractiveness as well).  Needless to say I reloaded from my last save point and married someone else.  Haven't had any problems since.  In fact my new husband has been showering me with gifts...^^ [^^]

From my observations of other people's problems, the spouse issue is caused by some things: *second engagement ring; *demon door farm; *castle; *completion of first spire quest; *marrying Alex

As far as the banshee problem, if this is what you were referring to, sadly I don't think there is a solution.  You can try reloading from the last save point.  This will take you to the part where you have just accepted the quest from Max and Sam (I think that's their names) to kill her.  I didn't try this on my last save game because it would have been a moot point with my other family glitch.  G o o d [Good] luck.

I finished the game (chose Love), said my wife and child and such were brought back to life. Every time I go back to our home, Serenity Farm, my child is standing next to the property sign thing, and my wife is nowhere to be found. :/

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

Don't know if this helps but I have had several spouses glitch in a  variety of ways, some just disappearing, some making kids unresponsive and some not. it never occured to me to give anyone another ring so none of my glitches have resulted from a second ring or from either of the quests mentioned. i have, however, found alexes to be particularly glitchy. don't own the house behind the demon door either so none of them live there. some seem to be gone forever but have had a couple come back to divorce me if i've married someone else nearby but in one case had two apparently totally happy families living in houses next door to one another but one with a permanently missing spouse and one with a sporadically missing spouse. to be honest, i don't think in my six different heroes ive had a single spouse who hasn't glitched out at all. today, an alex who had been missing for longer than anyone turned up in the middle of bowerstone to give me a blackmail letter then promptly divorced me due to the several years of neglect she had experienced. contrary to someone else's story, the lest glitchy spouse i've had has been the bowerstone blacksmith - i think this might be because the house he lives in is right by his 'job'. i think one of the problems might be if you've moved someone too far from the path they're programmed to follow? this could explain why the house behind the demon door is so bad - they simply don't know how to get where the game tells them they should be so they dissappear. i must say it's all a bit odd.

My game glitched with my spouse after I came back from the Spire.  I went to the Demon door home and he was no where to be found.  One thing I remember doing was I gave him a ring for a gift...then the game said I needed a marital home...we were already married.   Thinking nothing of it I left to the Spire, came back and no one was home.  I am wondering if by giving your spouse a ring for a gift after marriage if that triggers a glitch....

Well i aam having the same problem , but i have found out one thingORLY [orly]. that is that the childed is in hobbie cave but you must find you wife first.Sleeping [:zleeping:]

    Kharsian:

I have the exact same problem after returning from the Tattered Spire- missing wife and unresponsive child.

For the purposes of the investigation...I too gave my wife a second ring just as gift when I had the money to get a nicer ring. Perhaps there is a connection. For further reference, I didn't marry the "Alex" from the ghost quest, but I did marry "Alex the Housewife" from Bowerstone Market. I also set a nickname for her. Interestingly enough, now that my wife is missing, I have seen another "Alex the Housewife" (still not "Ghost quest Alex") wandering around Bowerstone Market. This is definitely not the same NPC I married previously.

One other bit of information for the Developers- I also proposed to my wife at the Demon Door and had our first home at the cottage before relocating to Bowerstone Market.

Hope they get this fixed- I'm shelving Fable 2 for now and moving on to Gears of War2 since this seems like it needs to bake a little longer. Hope it gets fixed soo- I was really enjoying it up until this point and hate putting it aside.

On one of my accounts i did the sameORLY [orly] and im guessing thast you lived in bower stone.Sad [:(]

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

I got a missing wife after I married a fourth wife (2 in Bowerstone 1 in market the other old town, another in Bloodstone and another in Oakfield married in order). After paying the blackmailer the 2000 gold. All my wives started disappearing and not until I left the area will they actually reappear divorce me. However after the third divorce, my fourth wife just disappeared like others but my daughter is still responsive and they still get budget.

I played for hours with still no signs of my wife coming back, so I tried marrying another person in town. Alas, my wife came back but when I had the other wife killed to avoid divorces the wife disappeared again. I did the same thing again but killed the fourth wife first losing my daughter in the process but somehow fixed the glitch. My new wife is doing fine at the moment. No E v i l [Evil] points from doing this if bandits kill your wives.

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

Ok, I married Lady Grey and completed the game with no problems what-so-ever.

However, at some point while I was doing the explorer thing with the Knot-hole Island expansion she disappeared. I never gave her a second ring and my daughter is still responsive. As far as the upkeep and happiness she is very happy I even still get quests to have sex with her but she is still no where to be found. Angry [] I haved tried to look for her in many places but can't find her. I tried to marry another woman (a woman myself btw) and I got prompted that Lady Grey my spouse has a gift for me which I assume is the blackmail quest but I still can't find her any where in Castle Fairfaz or its gardens. Wth is up with this? With all the complaints this should have been patched up already and its ridiculously annoying.Disappointed [:isappoin]Down []Angry []

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

Yeah on my first game, I took the path of G o o d [Good] and when I went to the Spire and came back I had a letter from my husband that said something to the effect of "Something's happened I need you to come home immediately, its about our son." I went to go find him cause I was like "Oh snap!" but the glowy trail never showed up and I CANT find him at all or my kid. It made me so mad, I made a second game and all, but it bugs me that I can't find them. I only had one spouse in this game cause I was "G o o d [Good]". I don't know. But its G o o d [Good] to know that I'm not the only one baffled.

Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE GLITCH...possible cause....

Agh, yes! I --finally-- bought this game three days ago, and yesterday night I came back from the Spire for the first time.
My husband is there, but my child is frozen, and I never gave him a second ring.

I married really early in the game, because I wanted to see how the child thing worked, to a farmer in Oakville. After that I took the Until Death Do Us Part quest and ended up marrying Alex too, but I didn't really want him so I left him in the Gypsy Camp until he divorced me.
Anyway, once I came back from the Spire, my husband in Oakville recognized me and talked to me, but wouldn't follow me. I went to my house to meet my child, but she was unresponsive. Then she started walking towards his father, and he then introduced her to me. I thought that was why she wasn't reacting and he wasn't following me, but after I left to complete a quest my husband was nowhere to be found and my little girl was frozen in front of the house. I slept there for a couple of days, left Oakville and re-entered it and finally he appeared again, happy and wanting sex, and he reacted to my expressions and followed me, but my kid is still unresponsive.
Seriously, if she doesn't go back to normal soon, I'm dragging my husband into the forest and getting him killed.

    FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE

Once you give the girl/boy a ring you then need to set a house to where you both will live, so lets say you give the ring and got a home and leave. Then you wont be married you have to go to the home you want and set as home, then if you did it right a video of a marriage will show up and then you are married!

If your wife/husban vanish after the spire quest to save the mage then i don't know unless you all talk about after lucien is killed?

He kills you familly so if you want then back then when you make the wish you have to choose to bring then back instead of money and save the people wish.

    Re: FABLE 2 MISSING SPOUSE

I had the missing wife glitch and i found a solution,

    1. Make your spouse's upkeep to 0
2.Go to xbox 360 dashboard, system settings, clock and advance the clock 10 years later
    3. go back in the game and find ur missing spouse , she will want a divorce . give her tonnes of gifts and make her happy.

enjoy, when i did this my retrbribution quest ended but i didnt care cuz atleast it was over and i got my wife back.

When I got back from the Spire it took a while but then my wife got back to our house. We even made another baby. However nothing in specific happens, the quest log still say "Return to your family". Is something suppose to happen?

Sorry help is comming so late. What might have happened (it happened to me) is that lucien is behind it, you'll. Find out at the end (i don't want to b a spoiler). After you go back to the spire hopefully it'll fix itself, or atleast you'll know why. Hope I helped!
