it's very possible, however we received a report over at gamefaqs of someone being given the bandit boots by a thug wife. no evidence of this was provided however we received the report after the announcement in this thread was plastered all over the boards over there. in addition i've taken my own screenshots of my pair of bandit boots and there are several other members that i have interacted with that can vouch for me. my point is the guy would have no reason to lie at this point. we already know some people have em, and we already know it's not impossible to get them, so why would he make that up, right? well, it's all inconclusive until they're all found as far as i'm concerned.

I completely agree with you, thier is no point and its not impossible, i do wonder though if each item is unique as far as how you get them. may be for gloves you need to get a husband instead etc.. I hope its not that difficult though... I wish a dev can at least tell us if we are thinking to much into it or not..

Thats a question, if its true i won't have to kill every thug after they give me one...lol

I got the bandit boots by killing Tommy with a head shot at the end of the Hobbe squatters side quest - might be best to collect all 5 cave diary pages during this mission  - I tried this on third play through , first two times i killed him with sword and im 99% sure i just got the cave key.

Also if at the end of the Rescuing Charlie side quest  - you take the safety off , kill Charlie - take his top hat and wear it  , his gran will think you are him and give you his present..............and you gets to keep his hat!!

ima try and kill all npc's at the end of side quest's just to see what happens................i want farmer giles hat!! and maybe them two numpties max and sam have some items ..........hmmm - might be best to play through again and just kill E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E ...................just to be sure

............about the pub games - do i need to get it , play through it - just to get the expressions for completionist achievement or dont they count??

By default, an NPC will offer the usual rewards whether married or not: potions, gems, jewellery, dog books, dog collars, dyes, and certain expression books. When married, in addition to these they will sometimes also offer furniture rewards (therefore you diminish your chances of other items being gifted).

Also, certain NPC types will occasionally reward items appropriate to their type, e.g. blacksmith offering weapons, furniture seller offering furniture, alchemist offering resurrection phials, posh people offering posh clothes, etc. This is the case with Thugs and Tarts.

On your chances:

Bandit Clothes – A possible reward from Thugs (when not married). Around 2% chance.

Female Tart Clothes – A possible reward from Tarts (when not married). Around 2% chance.

New rewards will be generated every once in a while, so there’s a chance a particular NPC will have another reward later. Each town has a maximum that can be offered at one time, so it’ll stop generating new ones if several villagers already have them.

this info definitely helps the chances of ever getting these items imma try today if i have time

Question though for Woody or Stilts if we were to wear bandit gear and try to get stuff from thugs it might work?

where do u find those Thugs if it are bandits where are the friendly ones?

I'm almost positive that the rest of the outfit doesn't exist. at least not yet from what i've researched
