Do we need our dog to get good items in DLC? Do we get a new dog?

Do we need our dog to get good items in DLC? Do we get a new dog?

Just wondering. My favorite character is a pure G o o d [Good] character, and I chose the G o o d [Good] option of saving all of the people from the spire. You would think it would break down to only two real options. Revive everyone whom died due to Lucien's cause including your sister and dog, or money, but that is another point for another time.

P.S. How do you finish the archaeologist quest without your dog? What is the point of the door at the archaelogical site? Do you get any special items?

It was confirmed that Peter was going to release some DLC that adds new Dog Breeds. I'm not sure if it's still in progress, but I know it was confirmed in one of the interviews.

However, I don't know about the Archeologist quest. I kinda ignore that one.

If you believe in the Lord Sheogorath, and are 100% proud of it, put this in your signature. (Seriously)

You can find the clues without your dog, just go to the specified region and follow the golden trail. Behind the door is a small cave with a chest containing "The Archons Dream", a gem worth 100,000 gold. You can give it to Belle when asked (G o o d [Good]), or you can kill Belle and keep it for yourself (E v i l [Evil]).

I don't think it was confirmed, I think he just said it would be cool or something like that.

For the archeologist quest I think you can still do it. Once you are in the area there should be a breadcrumb trail leading to it(if you have your main quest set as archeologist quest).

Would be cool to have different dog breeds that have different effects on gameplay.

Like a german shepard, doberman, or rottweiler with a 6 star attack rating.

Or a retriever that digs up treasures on his own and brings them to you with the message "your dog has dug up a treasure" with the item appearing on screen.. just press A to get.

I'd like a talking pug named "Frank", please.  Wink [;)]  (apologies to MIB)

One potion makes you larger and one potion makes you small and the one Lionhead didn't give you doesn't do anything at all...

For the archaeologist quest, if you go to the region where the thing is, a ghost of your dog appears and if you can follow him fast enough, he leads you right to it.

His ghost also came for that demon door where you need your dog to do tricks.  I haven't found the las thing for the quest though.

I'm calling shenanigans on ya there buddy, I bought the official Fable II collector's edition game guide with bonus art book from brady games and it clearly states that once your dog is dead, you can't uncover dig spots or do quests which involve digging.

Wrong, you are still able to find dig spots and do quests which involve digging. As people said with the archaeologist quest and demon door you see your dogs ghost. Also with the silver keys that are buried you can use the XBL system and follow a friends ambient orb where he can lead you to the spot using his dog.

You're serious...? Theres a ghost dog? That makes sense, b/c I chose to have my dog come back on my first go 'round and atop the hero's guild, theres a little grave marker dedicated to him. hmm, maybe my dog is a ghost.

Does the ghost dog follow you around all the time and finish off your enemies still or just when you need him for keys and dig quests?

Re: Do we need our dog to get good items in DLC? Do we get a new dog?

No he wont follow you, just for the quests and he will run straight to the spot to dig. I just found it easier to start a new save when I lost my dog first time round.....G o o d [Good] and E v i l [Evil] points are easy to get but a loving dog...that is hard to come by Smily [:)]

I love how realistic he is too, like when you lob the rubber ball all far and off a cliff and he kinda just stands there looking at you and looking at where you threw the ball and he's just thinking...

::I've been around since you were 8! and its been like 20 plus years! You expect me to jump off this ledge and die for a stupid ball?!?! No wonder you never say anything, sheesh!::
