Alright the Spike Video Game Awards just got over, and besides it not really being an awards show, but rather a 2 hours long time wasting commercial, Fable 2 didn't receive a single award. 

No I know there's argument as to whether Fable 2 deserved the GOTY from X-Play, but to not receive anything at all??

Thoughts?  I would propose that Fable 2 got snubbed because of the uproar after X-Play, and Spike didn't have the balls to man up and give it the rewards it deserved. (just something to get the discussion started)

Yeah, and come on, it's SPIKE for crying out loud, of course they're going to give awards to games with guns or explosions or that kind of thing. Granted Little Big Planet isn't really a game that their demographic would play, but Fable 2 isn't.

It didn't win any awards because they panel of judges didn't think it deserved any.
(I agree of course). Perhaps Lionhead "fans" should be content in that fact that they were nominated.

Agreed, I'm sure Persona or J-RPG fans are pissed that the only J-RPG nominated this year was "World Ends with You", I'm certain they're saying "Persona 4 wasn't even mentioned? THAT's BULL!!!!!!!!"

As it's been said before, Fable 2 is a game, but it's not THAT .

Lastly, if they really snubbed Fable 2, they wouldn't even nominate it.

Before I say anything I just want to point out that I think Lionhead is a very skilled studio.  Also, Fable 1 was one of (if not) my favorite game on the original Xbox.  I take no pleasure in saying this, I had hoped for this game to be the greatest RPG I had ever played but:

Fable 2 really doesn't deserve to win awards, the only exception I would make is for the art style.  It was short, lacked content, it didn't push any aspects of the genre, combat was pretty but shallow for a RPG, the world was small and disconnected, hero customization doesn't compare to industry leaders (BioWare IMO).  Expressions are but they don't make up for the lack of emotion on the hero's part, morality and the AI aren't pushing any boundaries, the exploration is pretty bad for this generation, and online and co-op are worse experiences than last generation games had.

Fable 2 is by no means a bad game, but when you look at it for what it is it isn't a great game.  As much as I wish it did, I don't see how it deserves to win.

Although I think that award might be pretty tough to win due to GTA 4 and LBP.

Perhaps they ran into one of the major glitches.  I know if I was reviewing a game for consideration for awards, if I encountered a major glitch or lots of smaller ones, I'd take points off for that.

But award shows are like movie critics.. what one favors, another might scoff at.. after all, the judges are human and have opinions all their own.

And the only reason any of us really play it is because we're personally enamored with the franchise?

Fable II is like my secret crush, I know it's not the biggest, or the best, and it's lacking in a lot of ways... But somehow, it's still the first game I wanna play. And even though that quality of game has its merits, it's not exactly award-winning caliber.

Yea it is something like that.  It's hard to explain at times.  If I made a list of every little thing I find wrong in the game it seems like it would go on forever, yet I keep on playing it.  It's just too much fun.  Another part of it is the hope that future updates and DLC like Knothole Island can make great improvements.  Though I'm cautious not to expect the impossible.  However, back to the point, I understand why it doesn't get awards.  Just like the original fable, I'm constantly thinking "Wow, this is so much fun, but could've been so much better."
