I managed to resolve this problem and he's what it was:

THE DISC ITSELF WAS FAULTY. IF ANYONE IS HAVING TROUBLE LOADING A PARTICULAR AREA, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR GAME DISC FOR CIRCULAR SCRATCHES UNDER THE DISC'S SURFACE.

These scratches are thin and only visible if you have the disc under a light and tilt it in the right direction. Nevertheless, this type of problem CAN stop your game from being able to load correctly when trying to access the damaged portion of the disc.

If you find one of these scratches, going back to your retailer for a replacement disc may be your only option.

I have found a bug which pertains to your homestead -

I took my wife out on the town in Oakdale (I saved the game and exited) I reloaded the game and she is NOWHERE to be found. She is not in Oakdale and not in my Homestead... Is there a way to find her?

Also, for all of you that are having issues with people not showing up during quests / certain parts of the game.

IF YOU GO INTO THE MENU AND CLICK "QUESTS" and "SELECT THE QUEST" and then "SET AND TRAVEL" They will show up and you can complete the quest now.

Just thought I would share this tid bit o information in bold so it sticks out hope it works for everyone else.

Also- To fix the Furniture Text issue, go buy a piece of furniture for 40gold replace it in your house and that message will go away.

I have the "stuck in scene" glitch where I walk VERY slowly, can use weapons, magic etc no matter where I am. It doesn't even let me travel because it thinks im in a scene. If anybody could help me out that would be great. Thanks!

Okay, so I'm posting in hope that anyone have experienced something similar, and found a way out of this glitch.


So without spoiling the story,
I have made my way to the city of Bloodstone, and I get glitched. I can't pull out my weapon, cast spell, or interact with quest givers. I CAN, however, talk to the Bard, do expressions, and the like. But I can't fight or do anything like that.


If I try to use my "fast travel" it says "Can't leave during the session" or something like that, and I think it is because the game thinks I'm still talking to a quest giver. So I went back to him, tried everything, nothing works.
If I actually walk out from Bloodstone to the area before it, I can fast travel away from it and do quests in other areas, but since I need to grind renown, I am basically forced back to Bloodstone over and over again and can't do anything about it.

Any ideas of what to do? Tried doing other quests and coming back, did not work. Tried restarting the console, did not work. I do not want to be forced to restart the game from here.

Okay, so after the Crucible I went to do the shooting range in westcliffe, I succeeded with flying colors, but after I was finished I still had the black rectangle with the time limit and score stuck in the bottom right hand of my screen. I tried pausing, unpausing, quitting, reloading and turning off my console all together but the damn rectangle wont go away. Its like a bad std or something...

I cant get in to Brightwood AT ALL, Ive tried quick jumping there, entering through assassin mission, and main story. It ALWAYS crashes the XBOX. PLEASE HELP asap. I cant go any further.

Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone is experiencing a similar Bug.

Yesterday I was up Playing Fable 2, And decided to go to sleep, So I did,

I wake up, And turn on the Xbox, it boots up perfectly, And I load up my Character
After it is finished Loading, I am in the Bowerstone Market, except My HUD is seemingly gone, The D-Pad Icon on the bottom left has disapeared, Except for a Kind of flashing white icon, which im guessing was the Safety-Off Stuff, I try Over-The-Shouldering with my gun, and the crosshair isn't there, I cannot lock onto anything.

I try exiting the area in hope that it may fix it, But when I do, The screen Kind of fades out like it should, But doesn't go Past there, Also, the broken HUD things are there, too.

And on A side note, The second time I tried, I opened up the Menu, It was unimaginably laggy, When I scrolled down, it would take easily fifteen seconds for it to move to the next button.

A real Game breaker.

I've tried Flushing the Cache, and that did not work, So imma try to swap out the disk today, after noticing small scratch marks on the disk.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Great game shame about the bugs. One bug im having is in Wellspring Cave i have no problems protecting Hannah on the first fill of the jug but when it comes to the second it fills up then freezes and i cant get no further which is a shame because to this point i was really loving the game. This is on the Limited edition uk version. please help

* The meter that appears at the top of the screen that shows how much an NPC likes you when you pull the left trigger sometimes does not go away until you restart the game.  I've had this happen 4 times already. 

* The bread crumb trail is sometimes not showing up at all and randomly reappears and disappears for minutes at a time.

I hope that Lionhead will eventually get to the small yet annoying bugs after they fix the major ones.  This is a great game and deserves to be polished as much as possible.

Just had a look at my disc and I can see those accursed circular scratches! So that's something for me do go and do in the morning.

I'd advise everyone who brought the UK LCE to take a look for these before playing for too long.

There is a window open at the top of the screen which says: Rescue Charlie (quest name) Below it reads: Skip conversation (A). This is VERY annoying. I can't use A because i have completed the quest and the message wont go away even if i press and hold A. Can anybody help me?

Here's another one for you. The items that are supposed to make you pure, ie eating vegetables, etc. DO NOT AFFECT the pure number at all!!! So you end up with an character just by eating some pies. WTF??? That seems like it would have been a first day of testing discovery. Looks like they should have released this game Christmas 2009.

Not sure if this is already there (theres no way im going to read it all not least of all because its a real downer) anyways the problem is that when i got back form the spire and went to visit my family my wife was nowhere to be seen and my child was frozen in place where his crib used to be, my house is in Old Bowerstone. This is a reall piss off i was excited to watch my child grow up.

i also had a problem with the salty jack quest. i found the treasure and brought the ship back and the talked to him but the quest still says it is not completed and still have to talk to salty jack, i have tried and nothing happens. 2nd bug rendered the game useless, i finished the game and accepted the rescue my child from hobbes in hobbe cave quest and after completion i leave the cave and my child will not follow me (even with the follow expression) and i cannot leave the region or progress in the game. im stuck and the place i bought it from ( i wont name names but it rhymes with shmame shtop) wont give me a refund all they will do is exchange it for another copy of fable 2! what a jip i have to eat the cost of this game. LIONHEAD get up and fix this stuff

A specific game giving the XBOX RRoD?? Yeah one..

RRoD Is a hardware fault, The game itself would not cause it..

Anywho, here are my few bugs ive encountered.

Did the shooting Range. Now all the notations (ie Press A to speak to a Merchant) Now appear WAAAY above the head, TO the extent that If im next to them I cant look up enough to see it...

I have also suffered the AWOL wife and Zombie child, Which is gay, atleast it happened to my crappy family and not my main one

And 3rd bug is Audio.. IE in the Temple of light quest to fill the water bottle, Hannah Says "Did you hear that" In actual fact I heard nothing... Happened about 3 times when clearl some audio has ment to been played, and I cant actually here it, and a character comments on the audio that never gotp layed... lol

Other then the bugs, and the fear that the next quest will create a game breaking glitch... Its a really game...

ok so my brother comes over to my house signs in with his profile and starts playing fable 2 on my xbox, so i decide i want to try the co-op so we play a little while, then he asks me to show him my character so we turn off the xbox and logg in with my profile i load my character and... ALL OF MY EXPERIENCE, GOLD AND ABILITIES ARE GONE!!!! my game is still intact all my quests are stil the same, still wearing the same cloths and weapons. please somone tell me theres a way to fix this lol, i mean ive loved the game so far but the amount of glitches bugs and crashes is really getting to me.

Hey lionhead and fellow forumers. Have read a few pages of this thread and couldn't see any specific mention of this bug that i have been encountering.

In Bowerstone Market, i have purchased loads of houses and shops, i own pretty much everything there. Now just as a nice little add on that Lionhead decided to throw in there i see you can refurbish your house by purchasing new items from the Furnature store (in bowerstone or the other place). So i proceeded over to the Bowerstone Market Furnature Store and found that all she has to offer to me is a book.... not the kind of furnature i was hoping for...
---- I have read in another thread that this is possibly due to it being a 5 star economy town. I have yet to test this temporary fix. But this is definitly a bug that lionhead could argueably fix quickly and hopefully patch. Its just one of those annoying things that alter the game play just that slight amount.

Also just confirming some other glitches that have been mentioned
- Npc like meter (shows at the top) doesn't go away (Really annoying when your trying to shoot enemies but you keep getting the npc's stats )
- Stuck in refurbish mode.
- Audio incorrections, Mainly when characters are saying "Did you hear that" or "Oh No What was that!!!" but you hear nothing... now i thought you were the hero... why do they have super hearing
- Shooting Range glitch, timer box stuck on.

All these have happened to me before i've headed to bloodstone so hopefully the glitches i've read about there won't add to my experienced glitch list. Although i am glad i haven't experienced any game breakers yet.
All in all this game is massive and extremely fun and addictive. But these few problems do hinder its quality. Also a few other fixable mentions

- Extreme lag in blacksmith job... managed to reach 50 sword streak but damn.... its hard to anticipate when 50% of the marker is not there.
- Lag when opening menu
- Want to learn some new skills from books... i have 5... why do i have to re open the inventory every damn time!
- Glitch when friends are reading stats.... i can't move... am locked in place while they access my stats... so to fix this i turned my online status to always offline.... but just another thing that gets annoying and alters gameplay.
- Gargoyls audio.... the one way i liked to find these guys was by listening with my surround sound to find out which way they were.... the one who sounds like he is to my left was actually to my right and far away.... way to go there?

Just so you at Lionhead know, and other forumers, i love this game and think its extremely awesome and i know due to having the AU CE that you guys worked really hard on main bugs. But just from reading, i'd say all that hard work needs to keep up and fix these last few bugs that the kind forumers are putting in a thread for you. Then your game will be * laugh* unstopable!!!!!

Also, any fixes for some of the bugs i have mentioned would be awesome, although temporary, they would be nice.

hey champion... i know this doesn't fix your problem but it will atleast show you that lionhead is working on it and give you some more info on what and why it happened

Hey Kumar91,

Your best bet (from reading through these threads) is to take your disk out and put it under some decent light, check for scratches or a scratch ring that flows around your whole disk, if you find anything like this i hope you got your scratch garuntea otherwise turn the xbox off(presuming you have an xbox) and restart. If this doesn't work your best bet is to take it back and get an exchange.... a fresh disk can't exactly make things worse after all

I just got this bug..   Been playing for like 6 hours now..  

I am stuck in oakfield and if I want to leave I have to walk slowly to the exit...   Can't do anything..    Same thing as in those 2 pics...

Now it seems I am fine when I leave Oakfield, but no matter what I do I am stuck once I come back..
