    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

I just lost all of my Exp, Renown, Abilities, Purity, G o o d [Good]ness and Families by playing Co-op and selecting a save. My character is essentially as powerful and blank as if I just walked out of the gypsy camp for the first time with my endgame weapons and shiny clothing and inside a world full of bandits and hobbes tuned to being endgame strong.

At least I still own all of my Homes and shops.

And I never knew you could be at negative renown as I am now.-(Nevermind, It readjusts back to zero when you reenter the start menu.)

Quest Bugs: Bugs dealing with quests or gameplay mechanics

    Game Bugs

    Freezing
A commonly known glitch, Lionhead have commented on it, and are thought to be working on fixing it in an autoupdate. No common factors have been observed as of yet in what causes it, but some suspect it to be connected to the game communicating over Live. Save often.
*Update* I can confirm I get this bug roughly every 15 minutes while my girlfriend who does NOT sign in to Live NEVER gets it. Implying it is most likely a Live issue, play offline and you may avoid it.

White crescent burned intoscreen superimposed on everything
Graphical glitch usually caused by something happening while you have the expression menu loaded. Fixable by saving and quitting, then reloading the game.

Co-op during child phase wiping experience/gold of henchman character
Joining a co-op game is not recommended until both heroes are adults, as it has been documented that sometimes this will delete the experience and gold from the henchman's save. Possibly due to settings which initialise during the child phase.

    General Combat Glitches

Sometimes, a player will be rendered incapable of taking part in combat, or of leaving aim mode. Sometimes this can be fixed by being hit, sometimes not. Sometimes it is due to leaving a conversation during dialogue, other times not.

Winter Lodge area not loading properly
Sometimes this location does not load properly and an untextured zone loads instead.

Fable2.com items not showing up ingame
Many players who have opened the chest and received the LE Halo items before playing the Fable2.com games are unable to open it and recieve the fable2.com items. Several people never receive all 3 sets of items, only ever one, no matter how many endings they get, a glitch not only affecting LE owners but others too. This may be worked around as several of the items become generally available ingame from stores. Including Hero Dolls, Lionhead Tattoos, and reputedly even the Chicken suit. Not all items have been 100% confirmed as appearing ingame however.

    "Autistic Children" bug.
Often children become completely unresponsive, simply standing in one spot doing nothing and not responding to any interaction attempts. Sometimes this fixes itself when their siblings get older.

    Dog with quest icon
One player has reported an issue with his dog getting a quest icon above its head for an unrelated quest, an icon which never goes away and prevents the dog from behaving as normal.

    Broken saves
Sometimes savegames become impossible to load, no common factor has yet been determined causing this.

    Demon Door House Glitch
The house isn't there the 2nd time you go in but if you go where the house used to be it will sometimes spawn over your head trapping you in the floor

    Stun Glitch

When in Battle Your Charecter may freeze in place and then you must take damage of some kind from an opponent before you can move again.

    Zoomed-In glitch
When you zoom in sometimes you stay zoomed in and you can't cast spells or draw your sword
rolling sometimes gets you out but you need to get hit to get out of it

You can marry the same wife multiple times -
You can give a wife more rings and each time it counts as a new family with the associated expenses and home occupancy

The Trinity Glitch                                                                                                     If you vault off a ledge just as a combat situation is beginning, after the combat is over your character will be stuck in the mid-air jump position - he looks like the crane position from Karate Kid or Trinity from The Matrix.  As you move the character, he simply floats along the ground looking silly.  Activating character actions, combat, etc. results in correct animation, but as soon as the action is over, the character returns to the jump pose.  Can be resolved by doing a Save & Quit, then return to the game.

The Heisenberg Glitch                                                                                              Certain characters in the market town near the beginning of the game get stuck in this mode where they continuously blink back and forth very quickly between two locations about 15 or 20 feet apart in game distance.

    Vendor Glitch

The “vendors” Icon stays on screen regardless of how far away you are from them. This doesn't seem to have any ill effects, other than just being tacky. Leaving that area of the Town and then returning can Remove it but it is not a guarantee.

    Stuck Between Chair and Bookshelf

In a house in Oakdale, there is a farmhouse with a bookshelf to the left of the entrance with a chair very close by.  If you walk to the bookshelf to search it, you will get stuck.

     Hobbe glitch
If you kill a Hobbe in the mound where the Troll is in the Crucible watch it's body. It will eventually start flying into the air spinning and stretching.

    Dog Glitch
Your dog may glitch, get stuck in a body of water and you might not be able to get it out,and also when your dog is swimming the framerate slows down and also when the dog is following you and its in a corner and cant go anywhere it glitches up ontop of things

Furniture Bug                                                                                                   Purchase a home, and go into "interior decorating" mode. Go inside and  point at a few things, and click A to see what you could change. Decided not to change anything, and left the house. then youll be stuck with the message "Take this item to the furniture store",going to a different region exiting and reloading game doesnt make it go away.

    Guild Cave Dog Fur(minor)

When your in the Guild Cave the dogs fur turns green

Top Of Screen Not Completely Visible On Standard TV(480p)                     During normal gameplay the words on the top of the screen are cut in half.

Hero house (minor)                                                                                            The hero cant close the door to his own home and people are constantly walking in and out of the house, game asks you to knock on a house you own

Advancing Date Glitch                                                                                  People buy a lot of homes save the game and advance the date on their xbox 360 (ex:change it to 2025) and the game gives them a lot of money because it thinks a lot of time has passed

    No Sound Effects Glitch
No music or fighting sound effects when you join a friends game straight from  Xbox Live Friends List, before loading ones own game. Then when you leave the game, and start your own, no sound effects.  MUST restart  system to get sound effects back.

Hero Stops Walking and Instead Starts Levitating                                      happens if you create a large build-up of gestures your character is attempting to perform at once: Run, Walk, Attack, Yawn, Stretch, Look Side-to-Side, ect.

Pressure Jumping                                                                                             When the hero jumps over a brick wall constantly over and over again for a while you will automatically shoopt up into the sky and get into places your not supposed to.

Fall Under The Floor Glitch and Walk Down There Forever and Get Stuck Down there                                                                                                         Vault over a wall while holding a sword then really fast press x to take out a crossbow and you will fall right through the floor while down there the camera will be up on the ground but you will still be underground you will get stuck down there forever if the game autosaves

    Networking Bugs
Unable to see friends' orbs ingame
Possibly a networking issue, though make sure you have your settings configured to allow orbs to appear. Also make sure no firewall issues are causing trouble at either end and your NAT is open.

Unable to join a friend's game but he can join mine/vice versa
Having experienced this myself, it turned out to be a NAT issue on the friend's router, preventing me from joining his game but allowing him to connect to mine.

Regularly signing out of XBox Live only when logged into Fable 2
A strange bug affecting some players, possibly a networking issue with the game, keeps signing a small number of players out of Live every few minutes as long as they have Fable 2 loaded.

    Quest Bugs
    Abbot glitch in Oakfield
Leaving the region during his conversation prevents completion of the quest and breaks game progress. Likely candidate for a fix in an upcoming patch due to severity, Lionhead have said they are working on it.

    Crucible glitch
Often at the culmination of Crucible the player becomes trapped, unable to open the chest or leave. Reloading seems to be the only workaround.

    General quest glitches
Many players report issues with various quests not being available/quest NPCs being unresponsive/not giving an accept quest icon, etc.

Bowerstone furniture merchant has no stock/never resocks
Well documented bug. Some report lowering the city's economy fixes it, others have no such luck.

    Infinite Rising Suns
The Rising Sun legendary weapon sometimes spawns on a character every time they enter Oakfield, this has been replicated using several means, often involving the Oakfield Demon Door.

    Unsellable houses
Sometimes happens when you move a spouse out of a marital home. The home becomes unsellable unless you kill the spouse. However sometimes this glitch goes further, with a home becoming unsellable once your spouse dies.
    Be warned.

You can marry the same wife multiple times
You can give a wife more rings and each time it counts as a new family with the associated expenses and home occupancy. This is particularly problematic when combined with the above glitch, rendering all such properties unsellable and unrentable.

Moving marital home giving bigamist achievement
Sometimes changing your marital home causes you to gain this achievement.

    Vanishing wives
Sometimes your wife vanishes. Still has an effect ingame, but is nowhere to be found. Most common with the homestead marital home.

Child not leaving during the rescue quest
Sometimes during this quest the child becomes unresponsive, preventing completion.

Quitting during quests returning to *much* earlier points

Some players report quitting during quests returns them to a save several days old, rather than their most recent one.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

I have tried to get the demon door in Oakfield open almost a half dozen times now. Same woman, same ring. I stand in front of it and propose, but the daft bugger won't open. I can't figure it out and I am getting very frustrated. I love the game, but I feel that it is too glitch-riddled and lacks the polish I expected. Disappointing, to say the least.

Anyway, any help I can get would be very appreciated! Thanks!

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

Alpha's first bug above, the freezing. I just got the game today and can't play it longer than 15-20 mins...which brought me here. I wish I could shed light on a common factor, but it happend in the Lake Cave during the story-telling portion about the original games hero, then when I re-loaded, it happened outside the cave when I opened the chest across the water, then when I tried to cast a spell for the first time, then (after I became skiddish of bugs) when I tried to save and cont. (the save portion worked, the cont. portion...not so much)...suffice to say it's gotten to the point of irritating. I have had to restart 8 or 9 times just to get maybe an little over an hour of actual gameplay accomplished. Needless to say I gave up already. I would like to "love" Fable II like I did it's predecessor, but it seems it might go back to the store already. I would like to wait and see if the promised patch will fix anything, but I can't afford to wait to long.

Also, my roommate picked the game up today as well...he's not had a single freeze. He has an elite and I have a month old arcade bundle, using the HDD from my original launch console (that finally died on me last month after 4 years of faithful service). Don't know if that makes any difference.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

Can you add this to the bug list?

I am in Oakfield Massacre Quest.  When I enter, its night time and the blockade shows up for about 2 seconds then it disappears.  There are no shadow ppl to start the quest.  I never get a population counter either.  Anytime I leave Oakfield it asks me to reset to a previous save.  This happens anytime I go to Oakfield now.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

This is a small glitch, but kinda annoying. I took the bounty hunter job in Oakfield (the one where you have to kill the hobbes in the watermill). So, i killed all the hobbes, and it still says " Creatures remaining 1". I searched everywhere for the last one, but to no avail. Now i still have that message in the bottom right corner of the screen at all times. I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it's happened to myself and after googling for a solution or work-around it appears that lots of other people have had it too. I'm just about to head off to the Spire and was doing a few quests, such as my first bounty hunter mission which was to kill hobbes in the gypsy camp. I rushed in, shot loads of them (I was worried that villagers might get killed) and ended up with "Creatures Remaining: 1" left on screen. I've wandered all around the area, outside the camp, set off my 'blades' spell on the chance that they find a hobbe somewhere, left the area and came back, but nothing works.

There's a way to get rid of the text - commit a crime (e.g. attack a guard) and do the 'community service' option.

I've worked in QA for a year and I'm extremely shocked at the bugs in the game. I heard that the game was buggy (My QA manager told me about the coin one in the tutorial - where you can take a coin from the mother and the lovesick daughter at the same time and end up with 6 gold and can not proceed since you need exactly 5 gold!) but some of these are ones that any QA team would pick up, it's simple logic and testing really. I can only assume that the issues were noted but there wasn't time to fix them for the Christmas rush. Shame.

Hmm... upon completing the game, I have found that , under Quests/Maps, Sales has been greyed out, with no sales or shortages coming up. Don't know if someone else mentioned this also.
Yeah, someone else pointed this out a little earlier . . . ticked me off too.  I'd like to be able to do some profitable trading.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

I did the Shadow Court mission and choose to get old. After this I did directly the Nightmare Hollow/Chesty quest. Well, I got young again, but I had to dye my hair in every single region just to get my hair in its original color. And now when I have completed main guest the Chesty is back. Brightwood Tower quest is available again from my menu. It´s not a big thing I know. It´s always G o o d [Good] to see your Super Best Friend.

I don't know if this is a bug......but when I enter the Crucible and complete it, there was a Chest so I try to open it then I got teleport outside of the Building, the Crucible, my character can't walk or draw his sword.

(never mind, I figured how to fix it,I go to the gypsy camp and use my spade and then my character can move again.

lol how the hell did you figure that out... wouldn't exactly be soemthing i'd be doing in gypsy camp digging after my guy can't move... but G o o d [Good] for you but what happens when you touch chest and your guy can't find a treasure at gypsy camp?

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

1.) Last night I was playing and I started seeing this messege at the top of the screen saying something to the effect of you can change the appearance of your home by buying furniture... blah blah blah... this is while I'm killing hobes.

So since then I'm seeing it all the time.  It's kind of annoying to say the least.

2.) I find it even more humorous because right now there isn't any furniture in any of the shops and there hasn't been any for quite some time.

3.) Also my dog has a habbit of getting stuck.  I find that running to a new map works for getting him unstuck.

So... is the FREEZING issue that so many of us are experiencing going to be addressed and dealt with!?!? So far, I'm still pretty ticked off about spending $60 on a game that I haven't even been able to get halfway through yet!! I REALLY hope Lionhead is trying to fix this REAL problem and not some minor inconveniences like "no furniture" in the shop. A lot of us can't even get INTO the GAME let alone be upset by not being able to buy new furniture! Sad [:(]

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

I believe there's another thread concerning this issue and someone might have mentioned it in this one, but there's a bug when leaving The Crucible.

Might be a spoiler for some, but when you complete the Crucible with 8/8 perfect rounds you get The Chopper in a chest which replaces the Cullis Gate. But when I try to open the chest I get teleported outside The Crucible and I'm stuck. I can't move, draw weapon, throw spells or interact with stuff in any way. But I can teleport to quests and regions and all that. The problem is that regardless of what I do I'm stuck, so I was forced to start a new character. And I didn't get the axe. Smily [:)]

Please note that this was the second time I did it in 8/8 and I already had the axe, so that might be the problem. And it seems that more people are encountering the same bug, also in other parts of the game. Pretty serious bug as it leaves the character unplayable.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

I'm stuck in the game because of a bug.

I'm in The Tattered Spire, after killing all the guards with Garth following/leading me. He then says that I should look out the window. I can do that (no one of the new recruits are moving by the way, if they're supposed to do that), but when I release the left trigger, my character just stands there, and I can't move him. I can move the camera slightly (but just behind my character's back) and the start menu still comes up, but that's it. I've tried reloading, changing small stuff like clothes, uninstalling the game, letting it wait 15 minutes after I've released the left trigger, but nothing changes.

I searched the forums and found one guy who had a similar problem, but he could just reload the game, and then everything was fine.

Is there anything I can do?

Oh, and I have a "PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR RESALE" game that I won together with an Xbox 360 from a Norwegian website. May that have something to do with it?

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

Oya, what bugs havent I had?  A quick rundown, spoilers BTW:

Dog was lost for 3(IRL) days in the Heros Guild at the very begining during the guild seal quest Theresa gives you at the gypsy camp.  3-6 hours gaming each day and still no dog.  Then he just appeared at one point.  Hasnt been lost since (on any of my heros)

Help, Ive married a schitzophrenic!: Tried to move my first wife from one house to another, duplicated her, accused me of bigamy, she and my daughter died via Lucien, chose 'The Sacrifice' and yet my invisible duplicate wife still appears in the FAMILIES menu.  And apparently 'Wants Sex'!

All the mention of my Reputation in the various Towns in the logbook dont appear.  It says the town name but then no mention of how I stand with them.  And to think I sacrfificed my dog for those buggers!

I cant have more than one child with Lady Grey, despite moving to various homes and catching a'many STDs.  And my son kept saying that she was unhappy all the time, despite having a 'Happy' and 'Very Happy' for all the things in the FAMILIES menu.

Despite being G o o d [Good]/Pure and not wearing anything scary, people keep running away from me and screaming!

And this last one, which is real kicker and has pisssed me off to no end that I havent even played the game for weeks. All the other bugs that Ive had are moot to me compared to this one.

I had just finished bedding Lady Grey in the Fairfax bed (once again trying to get more Children), she had Happy and Very Happy for all the stats in the FAMILIES menu and I decided to go buy her a present from Bowerstone Market.  Ran through Fairfax, exited into the market, bought her a diamond and returned to Fairfax.  Whereupon Lady Grey declared that I had no love for her and was getting a divorce.

She kept running into a wall until I managed to push her out a bit, collected my son, ran out of Fairfax towards Bowerstone Market (I checked the Families menu again, just to try and figure out WTF was going on and It still said she was Happy and Very Happy) So I fasttraveled to Bowerstone Market to find her and win her back (somehow, again Im stupified as to how this bug has occured), the game autosaved and then proceeded to tell me that my wife had died and that my son was being placed in an orphanage.

All within 5 minutes of great, hot zombie sex and years of a fantastic marriage.  Yay!  Molyneux killed my family!

So with my Heros wonderful life crushed and himself being just like Lucien was, all alone in Fairfax castle, I havent played the game since and have to resist the urge to through it out the window every 10 minutes.

    I really hate bugs...

I could dance with you until the cows come home. On second thought I'd rather dance with the cows until you come home.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

Firstly I would like to say that I very much enjoyed Fable II, but as with (it seems) everyone else who has encountered the game, there are a number of bugs ALSO encountered.

    This contains a few SPOILERS!

    Bounty Hunter Job
Asked to eradicate (violently) - 3 Balverines from Westcliff. One was immediately apparent due to people running and falling dead all over the place. One was stuck in scenery, but killable, and one had vanished. This left my role-playing experience as 'Someone to get the job done' ruined because I was told I was being sloppy

    Family
Married after beating the main quest, and my wife vanished from Castle Fairfax. According to the menu, everything was 'very happy', but I couldn't find her (to service her like a G o o d [Good] husband should) I also noticed that at the same time, 'Alex' from an earlier quest, is stood in the castle and is unresponsive. I decided that Alex must be the cause of the 'errant wife' glitch, and promptly decapitated him (which was fun) All of a sudden she appears out of nowhere and divorced me.

Another marriage involved me and my common/vulgar spouse moving into Serenity farm. We had a child, and after a short amount of time passed, I received 'The Rescue' quest. I am asked to 'Find Wife'. I find her, and she hands me a letter from my daughter. The HUD then prompts me again to find my wife. She hands me another letter from my daughter. The HUD still keeps prompting me to 'find wife' and she just wants to go upstairs for rumpy pumpy, and the quest never starts. I decided that the only way to solve things was to decapitate my wife (which was fun). The missing daughter was then taken into care, but the quest was never removed from my menu.

Another example; I married before the spire to fully appreciate the effect of returning to my wife and grown up child. Everything worked fine (although my child still had the 'dummy' icon above their head). I decided to upgrade to a better house in Bowerstone Market. My child then became zombified, and would not move, instead staying outside out previous address. I even tried pushing my child around the corner to the new abode, but this seemed pointless. My wife then diorced me, and 'left the region' when in reality, she went and joined our child in being unresponsive in the main town square.

    Furniture
I have had instances of swapping furniture, only to have it revert back to its original incarnation. Are there invisible bailiffs in Albion?

    Orgies
It had been a rough day. I had accidentally decapited (another) wife, and in my misery went out and got drunk. I opted to have a group sex experience, and hired 3 female and 3 male whores. I believe some of the more licentious denizens of Bloodstone also opted to join in. Once they had all submitted their post-coital remarks, they all pulled weapons on me. They stood shooting me for about 5 mins until I was forced to decimate Bloodstone.

    The 'A' button.
The A button is TERRIBLE. Trying to search certain closets/bookcases is a lesson in futility as I try to manouevre my 'hero' to get the Search/Steal button to appear. Sometimes (above shopkeepers) it defies Albion gravity, and I have to stand back 100 yards to see it.

    Quest Forcing
At the point in the game when Uncle Garth, and MC Hammer are waiting for me by Brightwood, I decided NOT to continue with the main quest, and decided to go and assassinate a travelling game master. He and his bodyguards were stood near Garth and Hammer, and I was forced to continue with the main quest, thus losing money, and being deprived of a 'kill'

    Scenery Slipping
I got stuck in the Westcliff Shooting Range. This was easily remedied by fast travelling, but shouldn't have happened in the first place.

    Clothing
There is an unusually annoying lag in the menu when equipping my character. Also, when I equip the Mario Hat, my dog does nothing but lay brightly coloured eggs!

    D-Pad
Unresponsive a lot of the time, forcing me to carry out most of my healing duties via the menu, especially in battle.

    Earthquakes
I'm not sure if this is intentional, but in some areas, particularly Wraithmarsh, the game world shakes about. I have noticed this in Brightwood too.

    Monosave
I understand the developer's intention, but for a game that is supposedly sizeable in scope, and anticipated to have bugs, multisaves should be a no brainer.

To reiterate; A very enjoyable romp, but far too many bugs!

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

Look up a bit. Someone figured it out. I finished with 8 perfect rounds and didn't get diddly squat when it was a storyline quest. I had to go back in during a free quest to get the bloody axe. Stupid things like this orevent Fable 2 from being amazing and keep it at the "pretty G o o d [Good]" level. Grrr.

    Re: BUG LIST - Updating

First, of all the games start screen is not the only issue... Its also the cut scenes that lag.  IE when displaying the cut scene for the spire.

Second, I've noticed an "unescapable" loop when you look down on the shipyard inside the spire and unintentionally let go of the left trigger. I watched the commadont repeatedly walk up the stairs.

Third, I also have seen enemies whom seem to unable to decide if they are truly dead. Sometimes they just commit suicide or are in need of a G o o d [Good] *** kicking.

Fourth, as for my children I have one autistic child and one only a few days old. However where does my child sleep ? I just bought a house near the infamous homestead with two beds included. I cannot change the type of bed nor am I certain my child actually sleeps. Speaking of my autistic child since moving from the homestead he now resides inside and out of the house. Sometimes seemingly guestures if anything he is not happy with his living conditions.

Last, problem my characters dog ocassionally will be obstructed by a (buidling, wall, large cliff) and will be uncertain what to do. As like it took my dog X amount of time to jump 50 ft to evade the bandits near a broken bridge. Ocassionally my dog will get lost. I cant step close enough to him unless I praise him. Not certain if this is intentional but I am also not sure if there are boundaries in the algorithm.

As to the idea of artist ship... this does not bode well with society and software. I find the posts numerous for glitches and bugs. Leading me to belive that this is more of a second alpha release canidate than a beta.
