maggot:You dont need to upgrade your graphic card every 6
month ffs, i havent updated in 2 years and my pc is still stronger than
the 360... I can play mass effect better looking and with no slowdowns.
Point is you only need to upgrade if you want the absolute best all the
time and if you can do with a console you surely dont want that. Also why would they run the AI through the gpu ? ![Tongue Tied [:S]](/emoticons/emotion-7.gif)
I absolutely agree. When I first bought Fable TLC I had a Geforce
5600Ultra, which was 2 years old at the time. The game played
beautifully on medium settings and looked much better than my buddy's
xbox version. I liked it so much I played it through 3 times! Then I
got a Radeon X800XL like 6 months later, to play ESIV Oblivion, and
after seeing how much better TLC looked I played it 2 more times. Then,
2 years later, I got my new system, with a Geforce 8800GTS 512 and just
for kicks I cranked every setting and played it yet another 2 times!
With every new gfx card I was like a kid in a candy store - how much
better would shadows look, how much smoother would character models be,
how much more immersive would the game be? And I was never
dissappointed! So, whereas it looked great with the first gfx card, it
only proceeded to get better with each new card.
At any rate, my real point is this: I don't care about DLC (well, I do,
but just read on), I don't care about UCC, I really only care about
Lionhead Created Content for the PC. The PC is just all around better
than consoles. Console controllers are clumsy and innaccurate compared
to mouse/keyboard, the options for choosing anti-aliasing, anisotropic
filtering, and resolution settings (among others) make for a much more
realistic game world, and these days even a low budget gaming PC will
be more powerful than the xbox 360. So, Lionhead, thank you for the
great work, but please don't snub the PC gamers by not porting Fable
II. You can have the ugliest, most annoying anti-piracy methods, I
won't care . . . I just want to indulge my escapism complex and
dominate the land of Albion just like "Chicken Chaser" and "Avatar" and
"Ranger" and "Maleficus" and "Reaper" and "Death Bringer" and
"Arseface" did so many years earlier! I want to kick the crap out of
the baddies and defend the innocent and plot some ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) and kill some
defenseless while becoming a legend in the age of highwaymen.
Anyway, thanks for reading my random ramblings, and Peter - never stop
the creative genius, it is wicked amazing! Thanks to all the Lionhead
Crew - never grow up, grown up games are boring!

Maybe its just that people want to believe so badly that any post in any forum that states "Microsoft said this" or "Lionhead said this" or "An Uber Secret Government Confidential Source at the Pentagon stated that the development of the best-selling XBox 360 game Fable II for Windows has been assigned to a team of genetically enhanced programming monkeys with SSBI security clearance. The targeted release date is a matter of national security and our source was not able to inform us before a group of Men in Black stormed the interview room and shot him full of sodium pentathol. Our sources at the British Intelligence Agency have confirmed orders for boxes with the letters "F", "A", "B", "L", "E" and "I" along with the Microsoft Windows Logo have been placed with a prominent box maker in the UK, but would not confirm the letters to be in the order stated or by whom the order was placed. When we confronted lead designer Peter Molyneux at a local bar he continually pressed one button which proceeded to break a chair over the reporters back, slide the reporter across the bar top (breaking every pint glass), punch the reporter in the face repeatedly, and end with a very nice finishing move in which Molyneux's rapier was thrust into the chest of the reporter causing an explosion of experience orbs from various attribute categories. Before running off Molyneux promptly burped, farted, and ate a "crunchy chick" thereby gaining a +4 ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) alignment. We translated this as "No Comment". Minutes later, a bloodied, matted, ball of fur limped into the pub and whimpered at us. Assuming this was Molyneux's four legged friend we pointed him in the right direction. As the pup left we could have sworn we saw a Windows Logo tattoo on the the dog's left shoulder, but due to the excess of coagulated blood we can not confirm this statement. After collecting the facts we can confidently say that the release date for the PC version of Fable II is (divide by two, carry the one, and add 2 just for ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) measure) FEBRUARY 15th, 2009!" Sorry for the sarcasm, but my point is we (PC gamers) WANT to believe the rumors even if they are way too outlandish to be true, (These random ramblings brought to you by Drew)

The 15th of February was just a rumor posted on some gaming site. Supposedly they heard it from an 'inside source'. I highly highly highly doubt LH would release the game 11 days from now if they have not announced a release date or even if they are 'officially' working on porting the game yet. I would expect 3-4 months between the announcement and the release in order for preorders, hype, and all that to happen before the game is sold to the public. Oh, and don't believe anything I said in the post about the release date . . . it was just my brain needing to spew crap all over the computer screen ![WTF [:wtf:]](/emoticons/wtf.gif) ! I was being facetious (sarcastic).

This is just fraggin annoying. Do they not get that half the people that have already purchased Fable II for the 360 are willing to turn around and buy it again for the PC? Maybe more then half but the point is they would make more money on the same product.
Oh well, Dragon Age is coming out from Bioware and we can count on them to make a decent, if not exceptional, PC game.

I personally know 3 people that have told me the same thing, and they're the only 3 people I know with 360s and Fable II. They keep telling me how great the game is, and how sweet it would look on PC at like 1900x1200 with AA and AF enabled. I tried to watch one day but I couldn't bring myself to watch for more than 5 minutes because I felt it would spoil it for me, because I am still hoping for a PC port. Maybe another company is working on the port, which is why LH denies knowledge. We can hope . . . although I'd rather LH do it, as long as they stick with the original control scheme it should turn out fine if done by others.

The problem with PC games is that so many people pirate everything. Even with all the protection they put on a disk people find ways around it. Kinda why so many games are on the consoles instead of the PC.
