TheGoldman:Yeah, but, Lionhead ported Fable:TLC to PC, so I'd assume Lionhead would port Fable 2 to PC.
Well really... This just leads us back to "Fable was ported to Pc and it said "For the Xbox only" so why isn't Fable 2 ported to PC".
I find it interesting you would put Fable TLC made it to PC... As it would happen Fable TLC does not say "For the Xbox only". In this case Fable 2 does say "For the Xbox 360 only".
I highly doubt they would make a Fable 2 TLC just to port it to the PC... Thats what DLC over Xbox Live is for now... It would be remarkably pointless...
To this day I said it once and i'll say it again... Fable 1 did not make it to PC port. Fable TLC did... Fable 2 having its own TLC would be pointless due to DLC over Live.
And them spending time to make a TLC just means they'll release that on Xbox 360 and then PC... When they could have been making:
- Patchs for bugs
- More in-game content
And the downside is the fact that we most likely cannot keep are heros from the original Fable 2... Like I said it would be remarkably pointless.
And Woody once again confirmed it for not being for PC anytime or anytime soon... End of discussion.

On the other hand side, it would be easy money to throw the DLC in a package, call it Fable 2 Gold or whatever and release it on the PC. Same principle like Fable:TLC. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif) Microsoft would do if they would not just concentrate on the XBox because they should not forget that the PC is basically their platform too. Vista and Windows7 will never become succesful operating systems if you do not "force" the people to use them. DirectX 10 or 11, nobody cares about and nobody cares about migrating from WindowsXP because console game ports don't need DX10/11 to look like on the console. It is not necessary for the common user and will not be until there are some exclusive games for Vista/Win7. Making Halo 2 a DX10 exlcusive Vista game was a joke for a big laugh on the PC though. Fable 2 for DirectX 11 could be a stronger argument though. If Microsoft continues to back off from the PC market, what prevents people from switching from Windows to cheaper OS (UNIX/LINUX) or a more stylish one (MacOS)? I for one could live with Linux if there was not games which need Windows. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
Everyone should boycott Ubisoft and their new Online DRM for PC games. This has gone too far in the reduction of the rights of users and I am sick of it! It is not made to fight piracy, but to control the customer.

TheGoldman:Yeah, but, Lionhead ported Fable:TLC to PC, so I'd assume Lionhead would port Fable 2 to PC. It seems a bit early to talk about a port. It took F1 a few years to make its way to PC.
Assumptions get you nowhere, just cause they did the first doesn't mean they have to do the second, and afaik it took 1 yr and 6 days for port of F1 to come out. ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif)

I am in agreement, Halo 2s requirement for Vista was just laughable - while I enjoy the Halo games, I actually refused to purchase Halo 2 for PC because I knew that even with the reworking of the graphics and texture models there was no way the use of DX10 would make the gameplay so much better that I would be willing to change my OS just for the game! Fable 2 however would make me consider the change, and most likely MS would get 100 or more of my dollars for the switch to Vista 64. I would even be more likely to switch if the future upgrade to Windows 7 would cost less with verification of purchase of Vista. W7 will most likely be a worthy successor to XP, because we all know Vista was just a beta testing OS even if 7 is a supposedly a totally new OS. I also agree that if it were not for the game requirements I would be running Linux exclusively instead of dual booting because Linux does everything I need it to except play games. I know you can run Windows emulators in Linux and use Windows software, but something seems amiss to me when running an OS inside an OS and expecting ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) framerates in games. You know it grinds my gears when people try to say - Woody said they aren't, so END OF DISCUSSION! Hello - do you work at Lionhead or Microsoft and are you making the decision to not port F2 to PC? No, well then it is not the end of discussion just because someone from Lionhead says they aren't working on it. LH tends to be very cryptic and secretive about these things until official announcements are made. So speculating that the port could still happen, but under a different title (like Fable TLC) is totally fine. Now, if Woody had said something like: No game using any game content from Fable 2 or remotely resembling Fable 2 will ever be made for PC by Lionhead or ANYONE else - well yes, I would have to say end of discussion. As it is, there is still a chance ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) . So - discuss!

With comments as aggravating as that (Assuming your pointing fingers at me) It'll be "End of discussion" very soon after they lock it because of a flame war to break out. You know what really grinds my gears - when people won't think outside of the box and only want to small group of people to get what they want... How about the other 2 million or so... Who have a bugged out Fable 2... When are they going to get what they want? And besides the Xbox 360 gamers would get extremely shafted if they made a TLC version: - They have to buy yet again another 60-70$ Fable 2 related game...
- They'll lose all their old progress from Fable 2...
- They'll lose their LE DLC...
- They will most likely not be able to play with anyone else over live who isn't playing the new TLC... But hey, at least they made all you guys happy right?
If, however, they do fix all the bugs and magically find a way to make all my noted complaints work with the future TLC then by all means go with it... But since they don't... I would not expect anymore then to hear a Lionhead Developer say they have no future plans to make a PC version. Lets put it short... They should be more concerned about their reputation then making more money off PC gamers... I wouldn't bother to comply to this message, because I am not going to reply afterwords... So say what you want... ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)

didnt halo 1 say only for xbox ? but it is out for pc now. but why are you so worried if it did go to pc. so what about all the fan of fable "tcl" witch is alot better then fable 1 for the xbox. but same game just added more to the game. The pc users are just wondering if it will or might never say never because you might be wrong. and i know you really dont want to eat your words when or if it does. We are just saying hope it does come out for the pc. for the pc fans of fable 1 "tcl" I really dont want to buy an xbox 360 just for one game that i would injoy. So xbox fans got there game and injoying it. so what about the pc Fans. they would make there money worth cause as you can see there are alot of fans for the Fable tlc. thats all we are say and asking.

Well... I understand where your all coming from, but don't you think Fable 2 is a rare case? Fable 1 didn't have nearly as many problems as Fable 2 does... Nor did Fable 1 have the ability for DLC over Live. The only solution I can think of to make all of this to work out is to make a Fable 2 PC Port without adding any bonus features or putting TLC beside it, also patch the rest of the remaining bugs/errors for the Xbox 360 users. But the reason that most of my complaints are created is because they will most likely won't do my solution above, and they will put TLC with extra features on the PC Ported version, and the Xbox community will be shafted by the long cruel rods of Lionhead... I probably wouldn't even be complaining right now if they hadn't put " Xbox 360 only"over their games name. As it stands at this very moment I am in the passive over this whole debate... Considering anything could happen... But I just hope that "anything" is the right decision. (This should be the last message on here... I figure I owe you guys and gals a reasonable explanation as to why I am acting like a drama queen over this.)

Yes, and Halo 2, Gears of War, and probably a number of others I don't know about. EDIT: Mass Effect. Dead Rising (albeit for Wii, not PC).

In truth Pc games are cheaper then your system games, By the way arn't they trying to make it so people with a pc and xbox live play online together. Also thats what patches are for. it ant our faults that fable 2 haves so many bugs. but doesn't all games do?

- PC games are cheaper than console games. PC Fable II would run between $40 and $50. Still more money than I'd care to spend, but $50 sounds a lot better than $70
- Completing Fable II takes about five hours, even when you do side quests, etc. It's not really that big of a loss
- A lot of people who bought the LE didn't even get their content; even if they did, the content was pretty superfluous in the grand scheme of things
- I don't know about you, but I barely play co-op anymore anyway
I don't feel strongly either way on this issue, but I can see how it would make sense for LH to bring this game to the PC. I think it'll happen sometime down the road, even if it may not be planned now.

No... I was saying if they release a Fable 2 TLC... They will most likely release it for the Xbox 360 as well... Which would lead them to buy another Xbox 360 game. Also I did receive my LE DLC... Over the internet.... And I had to pay 80$ for my Fable 2... Without the Hobbe or the LE DLC or any other bonous's I've heard promised... That's right full price... Didn't even get the 10$ off that was promised. Do you think I would want to buy yet again another Fable 2 for a little bit extra for Xbox 360 or PC? And I know I am not the only one in this situation.

I know you aren't either, because the same thing happened to me (except I paid $70, not $80, but it wasn't a discount, it was just the standard LE price at my Gamestop). I just got my DLC a month ago ![Huh? [:^)]](/emoticons/emotion-18.gif) I don't think you'd want to buy it again, but there are others out there that would. Like I said, $40-$70 is too much for me to pay for another Fable II, but I think it's safe to say I'd pick it up when it drops to $10 like the current TLC is. I don't see anything wrong with having the option, especially when you imagine how much user created content could add to what LH has built.

Trying to predict Lionhead's move from a purely business standpoint is a bit difficult at this point in the game industry. The buzz seems to be that PC game sales are on the decline but others swear by the fact that it's actually still pulling in more sales than the console market.
I've read countless articles showing that consoles outsell the PC but I've read countless articles that also seem to report the opposite. Suffice it to say, it's hard to tell at this point in the industy what exactly is happening. The one thing that remains consistent, however, is that developers prefer developing for consoles it seems. Mostly due to consistent specs and such. There's less of a hardware specs variable when it comes to consoles which kind of makes the development a bit more "universal" so to speak.
As for my personal opinion it wouldn't surprise me if Lionhead eventually ported it to PC. But then again more and more "big name" developers that have typically developed for the PC and console seem to be pulling out of the PC market entirely. A sign of things to come? Hard to tell, but I hope not.
Personally I think PC sales are still doing fine, particularly in the area of digital downloads and independent game developers. Xbox Live and other such services have been making real leaps forward when it comes to digital game downloads (particularly in support of the indie game industry, just look at Braid, which is getting ported to the PC next month) but I think the PC market still has the upper hand. Particularly if you take into consideration the casual market (sites such as Big Fish Games and so forth) they have been seeing a huge increase in sales over recent years.
So at the end of the day it's probably all industry buzz but all the same it's hard to take away the real facts. As with anything, time will tell.

@Duckanator - I wasn't trying to start a flame war, and the comment wasn't only directed at you; I have read the same comments elsewhere and am just sort of irked by the people who will blindly state it is the end of the discussion when an employee of Lionhead states that they are not currently working on a PC port. It's as if they don't know LH's MO regarding the release of sensitive information (at least LH sees it as sensitive info). They tend, and have always been this way, to deny deny deny . . . then BLAM, a press release says it is happening. I agree, LH should fix all the bugs/glitch issues with the 360 version and I am sure they are working on these problems as I type. I also don't think it would be right to release a TLC type version for both the PC and 360 and force the 360 users to purchase the original game 'again' in order to play the extra content. Perhaps they could release a TLC type for PC and make the extra content downloadable for the 360 users. That way you could continue with your same character(s) on 360 and the PC users would get the original and extra content without having the additional bandwidth allotment for the PC downloads. Therefore, 360 users would get their DLC and PC users would get a port in the process. ![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif) Also, I do believe I am thinking outside of the proverbial 'box' here when I say I hope they do not limit the game to only XB360 gamers. I don't want LH to neglect the 360 crowd either, so please do not think ill of me that I want to be able to enjoy the game along with the console users. Hey Duckanator - WE COOL? puts fist out, 'pound it' . . . ![Tongue Tied [:S]](/emoticons/emotion-7.gif) EDIT: Oh, and just an observation regarding your comment on how players with the original would most likely not be able to play with the ones with the TLC version: I believe this would prove true with any DLC (new areas) as well since both players would have to have the same content to be able to follow each other into the new game areas, right. So this is going to happen no matter what (and yes, it does suck for people who enjoy the co-op play).

chipbobo:fable 2 should remain a xbox only exclusive as its better on the console just buy an xbox.
What do you mean by "better" In the situation it's in now mind you... Yes a PC version would seem harsh... But what if Fable 2 didn't have so many Xbox 360 problems... I would then easily buy a PC version for the graphics boost. Now I would feel cheated to buy another game... Unless I find it in the 50% off box... Then I'll be fine. Also to Drewp... Your fist pound is accepted.
