When recruiting, only one soldier would appear, no matter how many you requested. The speed was so high you couldnt see them run without pausing. They wouldnt stay still either, shifting from side to side incredibly fast. When told to atttack enemies, he would run past them so fast neither side could hit each other, then round back through them, stop then run back the other way again (continously running through the enemies, neither side hitting anything). So basically, too high values are bad.

    Well I tried editting the value of the level 10 to all ranks...They of course still spawned as level 1 and to tell you the truth , I don't think it worked. They still got owned in their first battle like a regular rank 1 platoon does. So either it didn't work at all or rank 10 really isn't much better than rank 1.

    Well just because I have not succeeded does not mean no one has I hope. Has anyone done this successfully?

    Well...this is the army balance file with the speed and health mod for the archers as well. It wont say the rank, but all the way thru they will have the power of rank 10. Or they will run at the speed of light into a building and get killed by a creature. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In fact, my creature ran at uber speed after the soldiers, screaming, "I'm going to give those people some medical attention!" Any1 else had this happen?     Btw Maegi, I got the edit to work with melee troops, but not archers... It seems the values affect the accuracy of the catapult on the ranged file. Acuracy and speed of projectile. It was heck to watch. Boulders flying at the speed of light invisible without pausing.

    ok, it seems like non of u guys took the time to really look into it so here is the deal:
    most of the factors at "GameBlanceArmy.text" are pretty useless in combat, so here is what I found:
    col 4, 6, 8 and 9: formation/regroup speed modifiers, and also attack speed modifier, let me explain about this 1... if u crank these numbers up, i mean waaay up, when the platoon runs into an obstacle it will regroup in a split sec. also, when fighting a creature, and here is where the attack speed comes, they will spam hits like crazy... i didn't realy look into it to see what each 1 of those do..

    col 15 and 16: now here is what we're talking about, these are the hand to hand combat modifiers. for comparisson : a level 1 platoon will have 0.5 in both. a level 10 platoon will have 0.95. the seven samurai platoon has col 15 10 and col 16 12. if u will crank this up, your platoons will be invincible in hand to hand combat, and i mean invincible. a 5 men platoon can take any number of enemy platoons, as long as there is no ranged attacks involved.

    i did find some more other factors like moving speed, size, cost, ring size (the green ring around the platoon, which determines from how far they will get the enemy is comming), and few other useless stuff... I couldn't find the ranged attack resistance modifier, tho i do remember i once cranked something up and they were invincible to ranged attack, tho it was by mistake and when i just began playing with this file...
    maybe it was in the bottle of the gods? who knows... anyways - col 15 and 16 are what make real difference... tho if u crank them up too much it's just pointless to create more then 1 soldier Stick out tongue [:P]...
