When I go to the option screen to save my game, it sometimes says "Hero Save" and sometimes it says "World Save".
What is the difference between Hero Save and World Save and where does the option you get (either Hero Save or World Save) depend on?

When NOT doing an active quest, you will have the option for the World Save, but if you are in the middle of a quest then it will only let you do a Hero Save, which will save your items, experience and gold earned thus far.

Using the Hero Save is an easy way to get infinite silver keys, gold, experience. You just proceed until you almost finish the quest and then do your Hero Save and then restart and you can then do that part over again and then you repeat that as much as you want.

I began to play and study Fable I some months ago and spend a deal of time progressing to a certain point. I saved, carefully , in world mode. I come back now, and find my progress was lost.

I enjoy games and study them carefully. This is one of the worst save formats i have ever seen. It bascially lies to the player, saying it is saving and you dont actually save, you just have to start over. It is a lousy system and i am tempted to quit and throw the game away.

I may continue but it really is a lousy system and i hope someday there is a patch for this that makes World save, ie REAL SAVES available at any time. Dont try to control game play on such a micromanaged level Lionheart devs. It really turns off players. I see tons of questions about this on the forums for this game. And i can sympathize. You really blew it.

Yes but the original one is still an excellent game. aside from the saving system (which can get you TONS of exp and cash)

regarding to OP now: world save is a automatic thing. That way if you forget to hero save, the world save will do it for you. It usually does it before and after quests. (also important parts).

World Save is to save anywhere you want, and go back right at that spot. (you can't do this in between quests)
