Hi:

My girlfriend got me Fable: The Lost Chapters (Mac version) and I'm hoping that someone here can help me. I have spent A LOT(!!!) of time trying to complete the quest at Orchard Farm, but for some reason, I haven't been able to!

I googled a few sites searching to see if anyone else was having this problem. (That's how I came across this website and these forums).

The following is a quote from Ign.com.

In my game(s), Whisper "IS NOT" easily defeated with a few flourish moves AND she hasn't flipped over my head.

I'm hoping that some of you might have some suggestions for me -- it would really be appreciated!

I don't play the pc version but I'm guessing the xbox is basically the same. I don't remember how many flourish hits it took but that is the only way to defeat her, you just have to keep hitting her with flourish until she gives up and says you beat her again. You will then get a trophy from her.

im pretty sure thats the only way to defeat her......by flourishing...or are you tlking about the other orchard farm quest where you have to kill the hobbes

First things first:

1) Are you able to flourish?
2) What happens when you use Flourish on Whisper?
3) Are you SURE you are on the right quest? If you're supposed to be killing Hobbes you'll never defeat Whisper, time will run out and she will win.
4: Forget about the flipping over your head part, that is not relevant to beating her.

you dont need to know how to flourish on the first fable you can always do that

Did the Orchard Farm quest last night and Whisper approached before that farmer came. I choosed to defend the farm, but before the actual quest started whisper appeared and talked about flourish. I performed flourish one time and then just hacked into her a few times and blocked her attacks. Then she said i've had her beaten again and vanished. After that the farmer came and the actual quest began. I play the game on pc.
Seems like Whisper can also appear before the quest starts. Or does that have to whether you choose the path or the ?

Here is a loadout
Magic Spells that make it easier (if going melee)
slow time,Beserk,Multi-hit(the spell that doubles strength of a hit)
Different loadout (if Ranged)
Slow time,Multi-arrow.(however doesn't work for this scenario)
Extra useful spell :Assassins Rush
If going melee the slow time beserk combo is deadly especially with the multi-hit spell added it virtually quadruples your attack damage and increases your speed dramatically.
(just whack her up or slow time,beserk,double hit,will potion,assassins rush then smack her. Rinse and repeat you should have it )
