    Fable II Time Frozen

For some reason, time has stopped.  If I travel, time moves.  If I sleep in a bed, time moves.  If I play without doing these things, time is stopped.  Time is frozen exactly on the hour.

I am playing the game on an Elite.

Same thing just happened to me tonight.  No way to get it moving again that I've been able to determine.

I'm on my second playthrough, never had this problem previously.  I quick traveled to the Temple of Light to do a donation and as soon as the Oakfield region loaded, time was stuck at 6:00am, the sun stationary in the dawn sky.

This saves with the game apparently.  Shutting off my 360 and powering back up, loading up the game.. no change.

Edit: I'm playing on the Halo 3 edition of the 360..  I don't think hardware has anything to do with it.  My system clock is working fine.  And the Crucible clock still works fine in the game... the sun has just stopped moving across the sky.

One potion makes you larger and one potion makes you small and the one Lionhead didn't give you doesn't do anything at all...

You know, I've got the same issue.  I happened to notice it when I was doing the Temple of light to do the donation at a specific hour.  I didn't notice the issue before then, but now my time is stuck too.

    Hey guys.

You are probably long gone as you suffered this bug months ago, but it just struck me last week. I've just managed to fix it, and since I could find no help whatsoever while searching madly over the last week, I wanted to post here for the next poor sap who finds himself Googling "fable 2 time frozen" through angry tears.

    BUG:
First off, my bug was exactly as quoted above. Time had stopped exactly on the hour, sun and moon were static in the sky, sleep and travel advanced time but upon waking or arriving, time would stop again. If I arrived in Bowerstone at 3 pm, I could hang out there forever and it'd stay 3 pm.

    POSSIBLE CAUSE:
It's possible this bug appeared after renaming my 360 hard drive from the generic "Hard Drive" to something else.

    POSSIBLE FIX:
I did two things today. First, I renamed my hard drive back to "Hard Drive". This didn't immediately fix the bug, but I kept playing for a couple of hours, checking frequently, and as soon as I finished the (spoilers) mission at the top of Garth's tower, where you are taunted in a dreamworld by a rather well written chest named Chesty, the game clock came back to life, advancing normally. It's great to see odd numbers on the time again! This is a peculiar mission in that it doesn't really take place in Albion, and also you sleep once at the beginning of the quest and again at the end. In case it makes any difference, I slept the first time for 12 hours and the second time for six. Was fixed as soon as I woke up.

The timing of this might be random; if indeed renaming my hard drive is what caused the problem, maybe all that's required is to name it back and then after a few hours play the time system sorts itself out, regardless of mission. But who knows how these things work, it may be tied to the Chesty mission as it was for me.

Given how important the passage of time is in Fable II, this bug was a serious bummer, and I'd tried everything else. Uninstalling from the 360's HDD, playing from disc, reinstalling, clearing the cache, joining co-op games, everything! I've even written an article on it for a UK games magazine, so Lionhead isn't getting away Scot free. Wink [;)]

I'm so happy to have a working day/night cycle again. Hope this helps anyone with the bug who is not willing to lose all progress and restart.

I've just had this glitch too. I love the game but it's the most buggy piece of software I've ever used let alone buggy game! Does Lionhead have any testers?! Big Smile [:D]
