They do this because of the Holidays. They'll make bigger sales that way.

Picked up Ghostbusters. I really enjoy it. Haven't played much of it but I've gotten a few chuckles out of it. I just wish I could remember where the first movie was. I got the urge to watch it. XD

Hmm, i might consider it is there a demo? Hey though they think kids have no money and only parents buy them stuff alot of kids have summer jobs and parents buy kids stuff for no reason some times. haha any way I might just pick up a game that I did not get from this past year like Left 4 Dead there are so many G o o d [Good] games that I never get them all.

Sorry if it has already been mantioned but I think Dead Island looks cool. Or at least it has potential. To be honest I don't know what it is about apart from an Island and Zombies but the had me at the word Zombie. I'd like it to be an action adventure RPG with Zombies, I would definately buy that.

Re: What games are you looking forward to and why?

Quite looking forward to the next Metal Gear Solid. MGS: Peace Walker on the PSP, that is - according to Mr Kojima it's 'Metal Gear Solid 5 in my heart' (or words to that effect), which is always a G o o d [Good] thing in my books. OK, so the graphics won't exactly be cutting edge, but it's written and directed by Kojima so I can live with thatSmily [:)] The last PSP MGS outing was really rather G o o d [Good], I though, so it can definitely work on the platform...

Less looking forward to the Multi Platform MGS:Rising though. Since the 'Tactical Espionage Action' tagline has been unceremoniously dumped in favour of the new 'Lightning Bolt Action' one, I can't help but think we're in for something rather more dull. Also not written or directed by Mr Kojima, I notice. Not saying it's going to be bad as such - just, well, different. I suspect it isn't going to be a Metal Gear Solid Game in anything but name. More like the rather generic Metal Gear Online, maybe. That said I'm hardly going to write a game off just because a series name is going into new territory - I've just not got any particular reason to look forward to it right now.

Mass Effect 2, Halo 3 ODST, Splinter Cell Conviction, Left 4 Dead 2, GTAIV DLC, Forza Motorsport 3, Diablo 3, Alan Wake, Starcraft 2, Assassin's Creed 2, HL2: Episode 3, and Modern Warfare 2.

So many games, so little money and time.

Ah, hell yes! There it is. Alan Wake, the game about a guy who's writing about his experiences, right? And you get to hear his penned thoughts in-game. It's very intriguing.

Let's hope the best! They are planing a PC and XBox360 release though, so chances are high that it is "only" a dumb Mech-shooter. They are also still searching for a publisher and I hope it will not be Microsoft again because a PC release seems unlikely otherwise.

You're gonna end paying for a game that's over-priced. I wouldn't be surprised if something like that costs you the same price as a 360 arcade console.WTF [:wtf:]

Now that looks like a fun game. Never played the MechWarrior/BattleTech(?) games but I did play the two MechAssualt games, which I enjoyed. So I would look into this one. I could always go for some G o o d [Good] ol' fashion mech busting, mindless or not.^^ [^^]

Well if it is over the 120 range I will not get it. Stick out tongue [:P]

Ahh, that sucks. Chances are not only high that it will be dumbed down, it will be necessary. An Xbox360 controller simply does not have enough buttons to cater for a true Mechwarrior game.

    Pity.

I recall they made a mech controller for the original xobx they could make one for the 360

Ahh, I just took a look at it. Looks pretty funky, but expensive...I can't imagine it selling very well with that thing. Although I'd be very tempted to have a proper battlemech controller. Stick out tongue [:P]

Keyboard and mouse is what you need. Ten quid.

Pft. No decent swivel axis for the cockpit on Mouse and Keyboard. At the very least you need a controler with a 3rd analogue axis. Preferably a joystick with a rotating shaftWink [;)]

    Signed.

I used to play the games with my Sidewinder Precision Pro. A joystick with "rotating shaft", coolie-hat and a throttle control. Best for flight simulations, in which category I also count the MechWarrior games. Cheeky [:cheeky:]

Maybe a 360 pad works quite well because of the two analogue sticks, the digital pad (coolie hat) and the analogue triggers (throttle control). The problem for MW5 is that there are not enough buttons for configuring different weapon groups and using all the additional functions (e.g. jump packs, radar modes, shutdown, eject, binoculars ...) without double mapping some buttons. Also the mouse always worked very well for targeting at long range, better than the joystick at least. A combination of mouse, keyboard and joystick always worked the best for me. I could think of replacing the joytick with a 360 controller, but I am not willing to sacrifice mouse and keyboard. Wink [;)]

Activision dont just want some of your money this christmas, they want all of your money for games.

If i felt like having night vision goggles i would have bought some already.

Re: What games are you looking forward to and why?

I invested in lights instead. I'm happy I did so now - in retrospect they're much more convenient than night vision goggles.
Also I have a special TV that produces it's own illumination, so the goggles would be no G o o d [Good] for playing the game.

Man I don't even use them in the game not even on wet work (By the way you are a noob if you use nvg on wet work)

Kit is NOT pleased with that...hated the sky-bots in MW1. They better have that one set to some insane amount of points. Though I'm really digging the multi-player on that one now!^^ [^^]

Heard they're releasing a new version of TFU that comes with an exclusive level. Not so happy about that. Will probably rent it just to play that level though. I wanna see how Skywalker handles Starkiller.Classic [:classic:]

I'm gonna to assume he gets his ass kicked though!

Re: What games are you looking forward to and why?

The helicopters pissed me off in 1 because they were bots and magically knew where you were and went after the best player (Me), the gunship however is player controlled and you get it at 11 kills would of preferred a 15 kill steak though.  I play search and destroy anyway though so they can't even get gunships.

As for the forced unleashed I hated that game and could tell it was going to be mediocre before it came out according to the majority of the reviews I was right, and I did play it at my cousins and hated it. Of coarse that is just me Classic [:classic:]......Oh and some others Paranoid [:aranoid:]

EDIT: That mission on Hoth did look cool though. Smily [:)]
EDIT #2: No pun intended on that Hoth looks cool comment! Laugh []

    Well...

Bioshock 2- the first game had great game play and story and now the second is also going to include multiplayer.

Mass Effect 2- same as above minus multiplayer

Halo ODST/Reach- I just cant get enough of that series

    Assassins Creed 2- Hooray sequels!!!

The Beatles Rock Band- The music of the greatest band of all time plus Hofner Bass

so many console titles and a broken Xbox *sigh*
