    Re: backdrops

Backdrops are relatively easy to do:-

    1) Create or locate a picture you want to use,
    2) Ensure it's saved in a resolution that the game can handle (i.e multiples of 128x128 pixels; 128x128, 128x256, 256x512, 1024x128, etc)
    3) Save it as a .DDS file (most decent graphics handling programs either have the facility for this format built in, or you can locate plugins that will enable you to handle them), with the name "bd_XXXXX.dds (where XXXXX is the label you've given it to recognise it in game).
    4) Copy that file into your Program Files\Lionhead Studios Ltd\The Movies\Data\textures\backdrops folder (if you don't have one, create it).
    5) Fire up the game; start up a new movie; open the backdrop selection screen and the new backdrop will appear in the list, named as you saved it above.

Note that certain sets display certain backdrops differently, so you might need to play around with the resolutions a bit to get it to look right.

There is a thread around somewhere (or used to be) that covers backdrops in a bit more depth (as regards the best resolution, etc); the picture you use (and the resolution IT is in) will also have a bearing on how it displays.
