    xbox360 or PC?

    hi,

i've just finished fable2, and i'd like to play fable1 too (i know, wrong order :-)

originally i wanted to buy the xbox-version, to play it on my xbox360, but then i've read that there are some problems with running it on the xbox360..

so, which version do you recommend to try? PC or xbox-version-on-xbox360?

how bad are the problems on the xbox360?
for example compared to the slowdowns in kotor1 on xbox360? worse? better?

    thanks,
    gabor

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

I personally prefer PC on Fable.

I am not a big fan of Fable 2 on 360.  I wish they'd release it on PC.

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

In theory you can, but it involves installing Boot Camp and then also installing windows. Basically it turns your PC into a dual boot Windows/Mac OS system.

Whether the hardware is G o o d [Good] enough for gaming depends on, well, what Mac pc you buy and what games you want to play.

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

Isn't there a Mac version of Fable:TLC? I am pretty sure there is one, so there should be no need for Boot Camp which would of course also work. The downside of Boot Camp is always that you need to have or buy a legal license of WindowsXP (at least, dunno for Vista) and install it like you would on any PC.

I would go for the PC or Mac version of Fable:TLC because they look much better than on the XBox. Unlike the old XBox version, the PC versions can run on much higher resolutions and use filtering or Anti-Aliasing! An appropriate hardware assumed which should be anything equal or above the recommended hardware on the game box.

Downside of the PC version is that there is no native gamepad support. You will need to emulate gamepad input with an keymapper if you want to use a gamepad anyhow.

Everyone should boycott Ubisoft and their new Online DRM for PC games. This has gone too far in the reduction of the rights of users and I am sick of it! It is not made to fight piracy, but to control the customer.

I played fable on my cousins xbox and I bought the game for my pc. I found that the switchign between commands is easier on my pc then my cousins xbox. only problem I have is the viewing with the mouse but not an issue really

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

If u wanna play the first Fable u wanna play it on the PC. The game on the 360 freezes up and the music becomes distorted for a little while but after some time it goes back to normal its fine, but every time u go to a new region the same thing will happen. That's what happens on my 360.

    PC.

if u buy it for the xbox it'll have less fps, be choppier, and wont look as G o o d [Good] as the PC.

the PC also loads the load times almost instantly, unlike for the xbox.

    remember. ALWAYS pc.

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

Well as an individual who does not own any console game platform i am partial to the PC version of anything. The PC version of anything has the potential to look so much better, provided you have spent the money on the hardware needed to run it at the higher resolution levels, and turning on all the eye candy as i do. I really guess it depends on the PC you intend to run it on, if the PC is nothing special probably the Xbox version might be better for you, but that is just supposition on my part.

actually if you have a fast computer with alot of ram it'll be much better. because i remember playing on my cousin's computer (slow and only 1gb or RAM) and it was one of the worst expierences of my life lol.

    Re: xbox360 or PC?

as cold achilles said the pc has a lot of advantages over the 360.

pc downside is they messed up the control system so designed for mouse + keyboard control.  However you can run a pad profile program which can map keys to gamepad buttons and end up with a very G o o d [Good] control system similiar to the xbox.

the 360 downsides in my opinion are a lot worse.

lower framerate which in some areas is horrific such as oakvale late game.
    lower screen resolution.
    lower detail graphics.
    much slower loading times.
disc media wear and tear since cannot play off hdd on 360.
and the deal breaker, random unpredictable crashes, crashes tend to be more frequent when spells such as physical shield are running.
