I'm having a big problem with this; all of the sudden too. I've played through Fable 2 two or three times, and I never had a problem getting my LE content, or my Hero's Tale items.

This morning, I created a new character (female this time), and when I get to that chest, and open it, and get my LE content...and that's all. No Hero's Tale stuff (I should be getting all five).

I am connected to Xbox Live, and signed into my Gamertag. I made this character, failed to get the items, deleted her, tried a *second time*, and still failed to get the Hero's Tale items. Does anyone have any suggestion as to what I could be doing wrong?

(And does anyone else find it irritating how the game autosaves right after you open the chest, eliminating the possibility to reload and try a second time.)

Do you still have the latest update for Fable II installed on your Xbox 360 hard drive? All of my colleagues and friends never encountered any issue like that since they updated their Fable II with latest Title Update. Maybe you should clear your hard drive cache first and try again (re-download the Title Update and re-play the game up to the point where you are going to open the chest)?

Connect to LIVE (sign in), go to your profile and check your download history. All items you've redeemed and/or purchased, including all free items you've downloaded (like videos and demos) will be listed there, and if you're missing any of them you can simply re-download any using the history.

Ok I have a question, I've played the game through 3 times, never had a problem getting the content.

Started a new profile today, not connected to xbox live and it wouldn't allow me to open it.

Was the reason I didn't get the content because I wasn't connected to live ?

Seems I have discovered my own work around.
I just cleared out the cache and let redo the auto update when startingup the game.
I reloaded a character and was able to reopen the chest and get my website items.
Worked 4 times in a row.

I'm having a similar issue with that cursed chest.

1: I have redeemed all of the fable2.com rewards, as far as I know, I received a "success" message after each play through.

2: I am always signed into Live

3: The chest has never been opened

Yet the chest will still not open, and only gives me that stupid message "Go to www.fable....etc"

I had signed out, then in again, redone the chamber part up to the chest, and it still would not open. : /

I assume there is some animation of opening the chest, and since I did not see that, there is no point in checking the shops for the bonus content...

I remember doing this before for my friend, but I just recently got the game for myself and wanted the chicken suit.  I know most people have a problem with the chest opening, but my problem is that the game it self doesn't seem to want to open.  If i click the start the show button it takes me to chicken kicker, and it i try to take a direct link to the Heroes Tale thing it takes me to a white screen.  Is the site down or am i just bad at the internet?

I have just completed The Hero Tails, for the first time, got all 3 crowns all this was done whilst signed into XBL.

I have gone onto the game and gone to the Guild Cavern, gone to the chest, but when I try to open it it still redirects me to the website.

I am having this same problem.  I just got fable 2 yesterday, saw the chest and it directed me to the website. 

I played the games redeemed the rewards and tried to open the chest, wouldn't open. 

Figured it had something to do with being logged into xbox live on my 360 and my pc at the same time, so I logged out of both, nothing still. 

I save my game and reboot my 360 hoping it's just a glitch from xbox live info not refreshing or something, still nothing. 

I figure it's just broken on that character so I delete him and make a new one, the chest still will not open.

(Mind you I am chatting with friends on live with my 360 the entire time I'm doing this so it's not an issue of not being on live.

 Anyone have any ideas?

Lionhead Studio's should give everyone who can't open the guild cave chest a redemm code for the website stuff, as I've never been able to open chest

Problem is they won't do anything like that.

I've had Fable 2 since either March or April, in that whole time on 2 different gamer tags, I've never been able to open the chest for the Hero's Tale content (I dont have LE so its not been opened for that either). And now when I go back and do the videos again, it just says hark an error approaches when I try to redeem the reward. And when I try to open the chest I get please go to www.fable2.com blah blah blah.

Very disappointing as the emote book is the final 1 I need to get the emote achievement.

I think we should start a petition for Lionhead Studio to give those who can@t open the guild cave chest a redeem code for the free stuff anyway, we're missing out

they should really give out codes or make a patch where everybody can get all the stuff available in "a hero's tale" from the chest. it really denies achievement hunters, like myself, from "maxing" the game out. it's quite stupid that nothing has been done to fix this problem

I don't know what else to do... I have the normal fable II no LE and I don't have pub games if this even matters. I just cannot get this chest opened and thanx to this I can not complete Fable 2 achievements.... Is there anything possible left to do other then ranting and send emails to the webmaster? I have also waited for 4 days after the flash this is my 5th and still no go.

i hear ya, i share the same problems. seems like the assholes at Microsoft and Lionhead dont give a *** about fixing the site for people like us. i certainly hope they gain some common sense and brains to realize that they should fix this problem. all we can do is hope and keep checking back on the site til its fixed

lol i just call em "assholes" because they wont take the time to fix this problem. im sure for them its not even difficult to fix. they just continue to ignore it. they arent assholes for creating a very fun and fantastic game, just for not trying to fix stuff like this

So does any body from lionhead even read this stuff or are we just going on for no hope at all? I'm tired of waiting for someone to fix this I mean I want my hero doll to trade with others and i want my game completion i will NOT buy the DLC untill this chest opens... I mean everyone here has had problems and some have had no luck at all it's never opened for them.... So what does someone have to do to get something done? I just want my last expression and hero doll i don't care about the chicken suit since as far as i know I don't need it.....
