    Out of all the Legend weapons No it is the best, but you can Agument the 4 slotter weapons to be overall more usefull then Daichi just not as powerfull.

    Yes. A 4 augment slot Master Katanna from Knothole Island fully augmented up with the new augments from there also.

    Re: is there a sword beter then......

    try a 4 slot master hammer with these augments:
    -Devastation
    -Life and Luck
    -Mighty Oak
    -Lucky Charm

    The augments make it way more powerful than any weapon available in the game, so as long as you have maxed out speed, this will always be better than the daichi. if you don't have max speed, use a 4 slot master katana with the same augments, it will still be more powerful than the daichi.

    out of the legendary weapons though, daichi is by far the best legendary weapon. Smily [:)]

    AFAIK luck doesn't stack so a Flame type or Divine type augment might be more useful. But it's personal choice really.

    erm... no?!? its not stronger even with fire lightning skill and the luck effect on a master katana, the daichi stays stronger.

    *face palm* can you even read? the strength of the daichi is 97 and a master hammer is 107, and the only augment the daichi has to improve strength is devastation, which i've already said, you put on the master hammer too. trust me, i've tried lots of combinations and that one is way stronger than the daichi. jeez...

    Yeah I'm also struggling to see how the Daichi would compete with a 4 augment slot master weapon (especially the Master Hammer) with the correct augment combinations. With Ghoul, Renewal, or Luck & Life on there along with elemental effects and G o o d [Good] / E v i l [Evil] it would surely be alot more useful and in the case of the hammer have a higher base damage to boot? Wouldn't you struggle in the Colosseum with the Daichi compared with the aforementioned master weapon type?

    I don't think so...  I have tried just about every weapon with every possible augment combination and I always return to the daichi. especially in  the arena.  But heck, sometimes I use lesser weapons to make the fights a bit more difficult.  But IMHO the daichi has no equal.

    • Devastation {skill}
    • Life and Luck {ghoul and luck}
    • Mighty Oak {armor and luck}
    • Lucky Charm {luck}
    you've got luck on there three times. the armor effect is also passive: you only need it on one of your weapons. i don't find ghoul especially useful on guns, so armor lives there instead. but you would be better to remove mighty oak and lucky charm, and put two of the following on there:
    • flame
    • killerwatt
    • divine favour
    those will increase damage even more against enemies that are susceptible to those forces. with these augments, even a master katana is actually better than the daichi (in most cases).

    "better" however is kind of subjective. most weapons with those augments do so much damage that even if the daichi is doing more in some cases (and i'm not sure it is), ghoul makes everything infinitely more worthwhile.

    Re: is there a sword beter then......

    Have people tested how much of a difference particular weapon types make at high level play in say the Colosseum? For example how much of a difference does a katanna make as opposed to a hammer? Or is it more about your augment combination at this level then the particular weapon class?

    Interesting. I personally find "ghoul" effects to be very useful on guns, since it allows you to heal out of the range of most enemy attacks (bandits and spire guards have notoriously bad aim).

    Also, I'm not quite convinced that Flame and Killerwatt augments are useful, if only because you're already doing enough damage as-is to one or two-hit kill every opponent you face. Personally, I'm partial to using spare slots to make your gaming experience more pleasurable-- which means I put in either an "attractiveness" augment or a "scariness" augment, depending on whether or not I want to be bothered by NPCs.

    personal preference really. i find that using guns i just don't take a lot of damage, so i don't need to heal. whereas on the sword, ghoul just makes me invincible without having to switch to a gun to heal. if it's on one weapon, it's on the sword.

    once you've got everything maxed out, yeah, they barely matter. they'll save you a few hits on a balverine in melee combat. but really, using guns or magic deals with them much faster anyways.

    well, it's also easy enough to max that stuff out either way without any augments. but it's kind of preference here too... flame and killerwatt give you some benefits against some enemies in some circumstances. whether that's useful to you or not is up to you.

    I generally stick to magic anyway, which is why I prefer ghoul on my pistol. I also tend not to wear clothing that gives me an attractiveness bonus.

    Why is everyone talking about Master Katana this, Master Katana that... I prefer the Master Cutlass, which does more base damage (75 in stead of 71) and is still not a slow weapon. With Speed maxed out, the Cutlass is fast. And it makes beautiful music cutting trough my enemies Smily [:)] Just listen to it once in a while Smily [:)]

    Of course, with a piratey Hero a Cutlass is a must Wink [;)]

    Why would it make a difference?

    You will not magically come across loads of new content by bloodymindedly asking questions you already know the answer too....

    also, how could a weapon "better" than the Daichi possibly help you? There is no difference between one and the other when BOTH have the exact same effect...

    I feel that you guys are forgetting 2 augemtns that are even betetr than Devastation:

    -Luck and Skill (Extra damage/defense & skill)

    -Skill and Beauty (Less Scars & skill)

    whereas Devastation is only skill.

    Re: is there a sword beter then......

    Well in fable 2, the daichi is the best sword. But you can make a 4 slot weapon (of any category) just as devasting as the daichi.

    fairly. yes. it's mostly those stats. you can get like a 1.25x bonus off the augments, but like 3x bonus of the abilities upgrades. guess which matters more. Stick out tongue [:P]
    meralonne:

    much like the original fable, magic rapes everything. one-hit-killing trolls is awesome. i recently got the chance to play the original fable, and i was a little surprised at just how powerful magic really was in that game, even after playing fable 2.
    Chieffie:

    master cleaver does 88.
    Chieffie:
    and is still not a slow weapon. With Speed maxed out, the Cutlass is fast.

    there are three speeds, fast, normal, and slow. cutlasses, long swords, and cleavers are all normal, but differ in terms of reach (a stat it doesn't give, but can clearly be observed). master katana is much faster, and has long reach, which is why a lot of people (including myself) prefer it, even at the cost of  some damage. basically, it has better DPS and more range.

    but it's all preference, and style. which compromises you like better. heck, you don't even have to USE a melee weapon except on flit switches and those guys in see the future.
    Chieffie:
    Of course, with a piratey Hero a Cutlass is a must Wink [;)]

    of course. it would be cool if you could wear it at your side...

    on their own, yes. but if you already have luck included in luck and life or flame's gift or positively charged or mighty oak, and anti-scarring included in flame resistant or shockingly smooth or renewal, then you're not really gaining anything.

    Re: is there a sword beter then......

    Quick answer is yes, but the sword of Aeons didnt get carried over from Fable 1 lol. But seriously in Fable 2 the 4 augment master weapons are a better choice. The Daichi is garbage, Get you a nice 4 augment Master Hammer with the right Augments it can kill a Balverine in 1 hit. Or just put a Ghoul type augment in one, as long as your hits land your unkillable.
    Ok heres how it went down, "The hero got the place where you had to choose to destroy it or keep it. Did a hero save and went back and threw the other one away."
    and that is why your sister is alive in Fable 2.
