    Graphical Problems - Land morphing

My game has these strange graphical problems. The land keeps morphing, it looks kinda like quicksand. I don't think I've tried to play B&W again since I had upgraded my computer, but on my crappy old one everything was just fine.

My graphics card is an ASUS EAH3650. Drivers are up to date and all.

    Well, any ideas?

Is it the texture that keeps morphing, not the geometry itself?

Anyway, I'm not sure it could help in your case, but have you tried  (besides the obvious: patchs, compatibility mode, admin mode, etc) disabling agp texturing?

    I tried, didn't help.

Also, it's the texture that's morphing, not the actual ground. It still behaves normally.

With some NVidea cards, rolling back the driver version (yeah, downgrading your driver) would help similar problems. not sure if it applies to this case, as you have ATI and even in NVidea ones it's not that usual, but it seems possible.

    Nope, didn't help.

I'm starting to get frustrated here.

Yeah, it can get pretty frustrating =/

Have you tried booting with you on-board video card instead? I know it's not much of a solution, but I haven't got anything else Stick out tongue [:P]

Even if that works, I don't feel like switching my video cards every time I want to play a different game. I need a more permanent solution (that doesn't involve buying a new card).

    Yeah, I know.

It could tell you if your problem is really Graphic Card related, but I think that's pretty obvious.

I guess you already tried setting everything to minimun on B&W Setup, so I ran out of ideas =/ If I can think of anything, I'll tell you. You could try a forum search, too.

Re: Graphical Problems - Land morphing

Perhaps you could try to mess with 3d Analyze's options and see if you have any luck? I'm not sure it even works on B&W but it has solved quite a few problems with other games.

Re: Graphical Problems - Land morphing

Yes, I've already messed with the graphics settings on B&W. Doesn't matter wether it's at minimum or maximum, the textures still morph.

I don't use 3D analyze, but I'm going to try it now. Seems like it might work, I was actually thinking at some point of some software capable of emulating an older card.

Messed around with it, didn't help.

I'm back to my former ou of ideas state then Sad [:(]

I hope you can find something out. If you do, post here so future cases will be easier Smily [:)]

Re: Graphical Problems - Land morphing

I've had this problem for as long as I can remember too.  I think that's just an inherent problem with the graphics engine of the game.  I can investigate further, but I don't know if there's really a solution to this problem.
