    I think it all depends on the individual directorial emphasis, feeling and style of the work.
    For example, imagine a comedy, all it shows is pictures of feet.  That's valid.

    I think the genre might have certain styles, but if those become standard, then it's conventional.

    Although conventoinal works, because it is understood, it isn't new. Depends on your preference. Some directors want to release an epic once a year, some want to throw something together and cut and print it in a month or less. 

    And there are certainly fans of both styles.
