Isn't that the case with most FPS?  Worst thing about Halo?  Some ******* little 10 year old being a shotgun whore on the whole game..learn to use a battle rifle.

Isn't really the case in Left 4 Dead since the majority of the focus is Coop vs. Computer. Anyways, the reason I think it's satisfying is not because of its "effectiveness" since all the weapons in Left 4 Dead are equally useful thanks to the Target Assist. The reason I like the L4D shotgun are the little scenes that occur when you use one on a rushing Zombie (The Blowback or the Head getting blown off and it slumping at your feet inches from your face).
