Okay, so I cleared the cache on the HDD and reinstalled the patch (automatically from Xbox Live). Then played through to that point again. It crashed. I wondered if it was the disc, but I just couldn't believe it since I've never taken the disc out of the Xbox. So I tried one more time (4th attempt).

This time when I got to the top of Brightwood tower I noticed that it wanted me to press and hold the Left Trigger button on the controller. You know, so you can watch the scene in cinimatic view. I hadn't before, so this time I did. It worked! I got past that point.

So, seems it might actually be a bug afterall. I tried it again (5th attempt) and didn't hold down the trigger. It crashed. So, it seems you must hold down the Left Trigger during that scene or else the game crashes.

try transfering your save to a memory card and when you get close to that part of the game remove the memory card so it cant auto save and it if goes through put the memory card back. if it doesnt it is def the disc.
