Hi, my school is getting us to look for places to go to work experience. And i would like to come here, but on the main site is says you are fully booked. I'm just wondering what date you're fully booked to? Because our work experience is going to be July 12th and i would love to come and see how games are made, as i hope to become a game designer when i am older.

I've got a job interview coming up soon for SEGA. They want me to list bugs I've found in other games during the interview. The only problem is i cant find any bugs as they've all been fixed prior to release!

Do I just lie about finding bugs and name some common known ones from the internet, or what? Should I try to find bugs in games they made, or would it be rude to list bugs they missed in their own games?

Basically, anyone got any tips on how to do well in a QA interview?

Full Time Quality Assurance personnel?

So any people who work in quality assurance for a living about? I was wondering if you can answer a few questions.

Pray tell, how do you get into the industry in this day and age? nearly all applications I see require years of experience as well as having to of worked on a game that got released. Surely if you had all that, you wouldn't be looking for a job.

Further more most applications list qualifications needed that are so extreme, you're over qualified. With the skills you need, if I went and got them I could be a coder basically. But that's not what I want to do, and don't see why I need such skills for a job that requires no coding.

If it carries on like this, surely the Quality Assurance departments will be under staffed as anyone who gets the needed qualifications will not do the job, just move onto coding.

So please, explain to me how you got into your job, what skills and courses you needed, what degrees and such.

im like the biggest fable fan i know and i will be dying a slow and painful death waiting for its release haha

even if i have to buy a bad game that costs 60$ i would if it had some sort of beta in it

Do you have to live in England to be able to do the Work Experience or can you live in another country and come to England for the Work Experience week?

Hello there... Well, what can I say, I have loved and played games since I was extremely little and I am trying to get into some Games Technology courses at university starting september next year. Games are my life and my obsession really and I have loved lionhead ever since I first played B&W 1 ages ago! I also have enjoyed loads of other games from Lionhead including Fable, Fable II and also B&W 2! Anyway! I'm just yapping now and I am really here to find out about some form of beta testing and anything else I could do in the Lionhead community as I have holidays coming up soon and I would like to get a little more hands on with the gaming community.

Just thought I would put this out, not exactly sure how to become a beta tester, but I have been gaming since the early 1990's, I've got decent technical knowlege of programming as well as a fundamental understanding and ability to actively seek out bugs in a draft project.

Okay so my brother is a sony beta tester for europe and since he has married his girlfriend he unfortunately for him left his ps3 at home so ive been taking part in all of the beta's and i was wondering if anyone else on these forums were a member?

I know this is a XBOX forum but i would like to talk with other members on my ps3 as well as the old 360.

So any other beta trailists?

I, like so many, was originally booked up for 2 weeks of beta testing with Lionhead Studios for earlier this year (March 200, however just before Christmas '07 I was informed that beta testing was suspended indefinitely.

I've got to confess this was shocking because I've been trying to get some work, any work, with Lionhead Studios ever since I started in 3D over 4 years ago. I've always been a big, big fan of Molyneux fans and I really wanted this. However imagine my dismay when I was cancelled without even a proper reason other than the quite ambivalent - suspended indefinitely.

Also imagine my further horror to find Fable 2 so chock-full of bugs that it would make an entomologist squeal with horror. I can be forgiven for perhaps thinking that had they maybe kept with their original beta testing plans and scheduling a lot of these bugs would perhaps not even made it into the final product. I mean come on guys some of these bugs are just quite ridiculous, like unresponsive characters? Why wasn't this picked up in testing?

For Molyneux's sake bring back the beta testing programme!

Not exactly beta testing - Fable II crash bug

To whom it may concern,

I ran into a freeze bug that nearly made my saved game a total loss during Fable II - The Bargain - chose save and continue during the troll fight, then after loading and resuming the battle, the crashed and the entire machine froze (could not access dashboard) if I my character was knocked prone after that. I'm assuming something about the animation of getting knocked prone was causing the problem, because that was the common bond between crash instances. I powered down and tried to reload, and then repeated that process a number of times, varying other factors - eventually after choosing to save and continue in two other areas, then returning to the area with the troll, the bug stopped occurring.

Too Old to Test?

I know the answer is technically no as applicants just have to be over 14, full time avaliable after 15 or something. Anyway, the point is, I'm going on 22...do you think I'm a little old to be applying for experience and should just get a real job as I'm coming to the end of my university 'career'?

Well, thoughts...anyone?

(Oh, and my degree is English/Japanese. Not sure that hasn't any relevance to any job offered at Lionhead outside general testing...shame that.)
