I kind of wish you there was an option to use tactics so that the player would have to control any of the characters. Just as an option. You could still pause and take over if necessary. Anyone else agree?

You can pause and use tactics. I quite often take over an NPC and play the NPC rather than my own character it can depend on a win or a restart. However, the tactics wheel doesn't work on casual mode it does work on the hard modes. I play casual mode for the boss fights it can be a nightmare otherwise.

Hmmm I am always after story based games, so I suppose after AC2 I WILL get this game. Everyones been moaning at me to get this lol, havent had this many messages about one game since Left 4 Dead.

I did watch some of the character trailer, most interested by the Dwarves, but I've always liked dwarves hehe.

It really is a dark story, I would have to say if rpg's are your thing, you will dig DAO. I have really enjoyed it.

I will finish this game one night, but I will hopefully sleep with Alistar and become his Elf queen. I'll save Morigan for another playthrough, though I do love her style.

Yes I am horribly immersed and am becoming sleep deprived tonight I take a break from the game. Tommorrow back to the Dwarf mines. I do love exploration.

Congrats yes I also slept with Morrigan to save my beautifully shaped humanoid ass... How could I resist... a shag and I get to live... there's no down side... cept my child will be the next Archdemon and start up a new blight but I'll be long dead then due to the taint and all.

I started as a Dwarf after the human... a commoner dwarf.

Long ass credits at the end... but at least they didn't list what they ordered from the takeaway -looks at Lionhead-.

I did it. The ending celebration allows you to talk with your fellow companions and friends (if you lived! Dun dun dun) and then there's a bunch of details about how each culture was affected by your actions throughout the game, how they developed in the future, blah blah blah. Sort of like Fallout 1 & 2.

Not using *** for the setting would've been fine with me. But as far as I can tell from the OED, sodding is only a more recent word ...

One thing I didn't get at all was the use of 'cannon fodder' in a dialog option. What the hell is a cannon in Dragon Age?

What did annoy me was the whole "Swearing dwarf" thing, I was offended by it but for the wrong reasons. They simply replaced the word F*cking with sodding, see this is what offended me, I though Bioware was promising a straight between the eye's "Mature" fantasy game... they got the gushing blood right, they got the adding a sex scene in there but why wimp out when it comes with the swearing?... the game is clearly an 18 game so we don't need it flowering for us and the F word is used a many times in many different games so why do I have to listen to the word sod all the time. After a while it's almost cringe worthy.

I'll be playing it, and I'll need to get to some slave labouring, and I'll just not want to put the controller down. And as of yet, I haven't except for a six hour sleep that I really needed, desperately.

Then you'll fit right in, Dwarves are one of the three races you can play. Oh, and if you get it buy it new. The new games come with two free downloads.

I always liked Elves, so I am currently playing an Elf Mage. I modeled her after one of my old DnD characters. I always wondered how those stats would play simulated.
